I agree Innovate here and innovate now, however, our main energy source is oil/ fossil fuels, and it will be for the foreseeable future. It is a very nice abstract thing to say innovate here, innovate now, but reality is that until there is a viable alternative to fossil fuels, we should develop our local supplies, by drilling here and drilling now.
I have no doubt that Dr Davis is a fine oncologist. But the "cancer" on this country is not going to be eradicated by short-sighted, unsustainable measures like increased domestic drilling. Any slight benefit will certainly not be immediate, and the amount that our own reserves could contribute to our total consumption is paltry. We need to *reduce* consumption, spend our efforts on more efficient products, and agressively develop renewable sources of energy. Innovate Here, Innovate Now!
