Ugh, these comments are making me barf. Y'all are taking crazy pills if you think anyone has a problem understanding Tim's act. It's possible not to laugh at something and also "get" it. While I see what Tim was doing, I think his style of comedy is much better executed in Tom Goes to the Mayor or Tim and Eric. I love TGTTM especially because the character of Tom is so hilariously tragic. I've seen "bomb on purpose" before and it's usually just too manufactured for me to find it funny.

Bombing on purpose, in front of a live audience is much more work than it seems. You don't simply go up on stage and tell lame jokes and act outrageous. Tim created a complete persona of a bumbling, oblivious and hackey comedian who has no idea about stand up etiquette (i.e. asking for a moment of silence, complaining to the promoter, and trying to find a talent scout in the audience etc...) and did everything perfectly wrong.

Tim is faithful to the spirit of comedy by joking about what has been previously been impossible to joke about in order open up new possibilites

Wow, that just goes to show you right there that I was right about this young, budding comic becoming famous. Timothy obviously has moved up in the world with this amazingly huge venue to play and with bands and stuff. Every time I watch him he gets better, almost like a young Red Skelton.
