one time i almost got squished by the door too. but it's not m-train. it's the k-train in Urban Kwun Tong line.

it's almost impossible to open a Tung Chung TRain door cause it's like locked shut. the m-train is like close but not quite locked.

Yes,M-train is using the door called"Sliding door",but K-Train is using "Plug door",so they have differecnce in close and open methods.Finally,the plug door in K-Train is more reliable and the most safe,M-Train's train door is the most common one.

and yah the k-train doors stop a little bit before it's fully closed. i got out of the train beofre it's closed. i got a little bit squished.

Plug doors are safer and make the train more streamlined but they are much more complicated to maintain. That's why new trains like the Class 395 in England--although running at 225kph, still uses sliding doors.
