  • Beth Rybacki an "American Nadia" I don't think so.....LOL

  • i dont know why but i just dont like beth

  • who gives a shit? am I right?

  • i wonder what happened to their friendship? switching gyms, vanessa's frustration etc

  • maybe its just me but it kinda wouldnt surprise me if jordyn wieber and Kamerin Moore turned out like this if you think about it friends since they were little jordyn became bigger and is played up like vanessa but it was jamie who ended up on the olympic team

  • お~っときた~腐れ顕正会、それにクソ日顕宗と傲慢バカ法華員の身の程知らずのイヤラシイボケどもが!!

    見てるか(大笑)大爆笑?!

  • maybe baby lexie will be an Olympian someday (:

  • jacoby121, thanks for comment. I'm not discrediting thier absolute dedication to achieve what they long to be, just think things are a bit out of hand these days as far as training styles, and the ever increasing WOW factor pressures they endure. It's borderline brutality when a child has to weap in pain just to be good enough to WOW that little bit more. How good does a routine have to be for a perfect 10? and how much higher is the bar raised for others when one achieves this? and on it goes.

  • if a gymnast is talented enough and loves the sport enough to get to the elite level they know the sacrifices and work as hard as they can for their goal while doing what they love

MOST successful gymnasts love the sport more than anything and have no regrets

  • it's about the olympic dream. shut up. obviously you're a fatass who doesn't even know what sports are about. if they REALLY wanted to quit, they do.

  • Yeah :-) Peace 2 U

  • right

  • The pain in gymnastics. what are you talkingn about if you you were a gymnast you would most likwly relize how fullfiling and beutiful the sport really is, and its not cruel

  • oy, wait a minute, u can think whatever u want about gymnastics, but how did you go from hard workout to pedophilia???????????? this has nothing to do with it. stop seeing evil where it isn't.

  • I remember this fluff peice...Whatever happened to Jamie and vanessa's friendship..I know it turned sore a few years ago.

  • Oh... how old was Jamie back then, I wonder...

  • the rybackis are annoying

  • She was a better tumbler than ANY that we have now, save Shawn Johnson. She did tricks on floor with amplitude instead of crunching in the somis and twists. I'll take her on floor over twistie-wistie Liukin in a heartbeat.

  • those are strong and cruel words fredannyainge, she was a fablous gymnast and for someone who "sucked" as you put it she made it pretty far and was a top 10 gymnast her entire career, she crashed under pressure but that doesnt take away from how great she was when she hit, you need to be kind and appreciate what she did for the sport rather then trash her like a fool.

  • This post is so wildly immature. Culminating an entire gymnastics career into "she sucked" and actually trying to call it a fact? To whom--you?

She could, in fact, dance better than most of the US team, and had good from especially for a power gymnast, who are not known for form (Maloney, Strug, Dawes, Produnova, etc.). Watch some gymnastics and grow up.

  • yea she really didnt live up to wat was expected of her

  • Vanessa was over hyped and never the gymnast people wished she was.

  • I think she was excellent at floor and vault; she is infamous for her bar falls and her faultering concentration. After watching some program that she was on recently I came to understand that she was extremely insecure and anxious during her career and is still working through alot of issues. I think her courage to admit that publicly makes her more admirable than many other athletes who tend to ignore their true feelings.

  • well she might not have been the best gymnast, but think about it this way, were most of your competitions televised from 97' and on?

  • rofl.

  • I meant made it big, like in the public eye.

  • Vanessa made it in 1996 , and Jamie made the team in 2000.

  • Made what in 1996? Certainly not the US Olympic Team.

  • @NaKoiPes Both of them were too young to make it in 1996.

  • @realityscliche Vanessa didn't make the Olympic team in either 96 or 2000. Get your facts straight!

  • The Olympic team

  • Sad how Vanessa didn't even make the team and Jamie did, but even when Jamie made the team, USA didn't do a great job.
