i have that bass and befor i thought musicman is the best but after i hold this bass in my hands i didn´t want to touch any other basses i would say its the perfect bass because you can do everything with it but sex^^
Warwicks are awesome basses, but they're not for me, as it took me 3 basses to realize that, I love their tone and their woodwork and designs, but I just don't like their necks, too fat for my taste, many of them have too high of action that I couldn't seem to lower any way I tried. I find Musicman, Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, Spector, RIC, Gretsch, and a few others much more comfortable at the neck, But as far as fat tone a perfectly balance 5 string, low action, and balance, Musicman hands down.
These basses have terrible b strings. Tune them eadgc instead. Also check the neck socket for gaps. Neck dive can be a problem too. These ash bodies are semi chambered so they are lighter
that's a very opinionated statement. Coming from me : I've had a chance to buy either an Ibanez Prestige or a Warwick, and i left with the Ibanez because it didn't have a baseball bat for a neck, as well as being packed with bartolinis, and almost the same tone woods as used in the warwicks.
not to mention the floppy ass B string I hear on all of the warwicks i've played as well as the one in the video. I'll take my neckthrough, 35" scale, bartolini packed Ibanez Prestige any day over a Warwick.
Wow, you think you're in a bad position? The basses here in Bulgaria are too freakin expensive, but that can't stop us... We musicians are poor, but we search quality instruments. For example, an American Standart Fender Precision bass here is 2300 levs, which is like 1700$....4-string
This question of price and quality is resolved by how important that bass is for you personally as a musician. If you make your living or a good part of it playing $1000 bucks is chump change.
Over priced, but i love them. If i run in to a great deal on one. I would by it. No bass is worth more than $700.00 to me. For that i can make a Warmouth that sounds like any bass. Know that it would be hard to spend more.
i don't understand why you would think it's over priced? It's one of the best basses you can buy, it's unique in a lot of ways, it's a fair price. Play a $700 bass and then play this one and tell me it's over priced
Ibanez have good basses for a nice price (i think). For example the sr506 bm is great (6 string, dual humbucker, heavy tone) for about 700 dollars. I think that one is better than this one. And yes, most basses are over priced :s
@universalrenote I bought one which was originally $1100 AUD but the music store had a sale on all Metal basses, so it went down to $917 and then after another sale in went down to $897. I went to buy it on that day and I knew the guy who was selling me it so he gave me it for $800. May seem pricey but you gotta go for a good opportunity.
warwick, ibanez, and ESP are great basses for metal.tbh i havent tried a warwick but i know friends/bands that do and it has amazing tone. I love my Ibanez and ESP to death tho, but id buy a warwick if they didnt cost so much x_x
I think Warwicks are great for metal, as when as being versatile. They have a deep growly sound to them that give them that make them as good for heavy music as funk or rock or anything. But I agree, the amps are very important to your sound as well

is it just me, or are these basses completely over priced fo what they are.
I played a lot of high end warwicks and it seems like to me that a lot of people really like to brag them up.
if you're gonna spend $2000-$4000 on a bass try a Dingwall, or Fbass first, they blow Warwick out of the water.

Why can't I defent Warwick here? If people talk rubish about something they don't know, it may be adressed.
robgroenweg 2 years ago 2
If people start comparing Warwick with Ibanez, I know 2 things: 1 They never had a Warwick in their hands, and 2 theire not worthy.

True, Warwick is better than Ibanez. Warwick is my 2nd favorite. Fender is the best though.

I totally agree. USUALLY, differences of prices of 1000's of dollars are not very 'big' differences.
You could get something almost as good as or on par with a Warwick, for example and you don't have to spend too much money on it.
