You know, the more videos I watch on Sickdrummer....the more respect I have towards the drummers that play "differently" in the eyes of others...like Double strokes on the bass drum that's triggered....You may not like it, but dude. It sounds cool as hell. I think you should do whatever is comfortable for YOU, and if it sounds cool....that's a massive plus.

I've been doing doubles on my feet for about a year now and I'm really starting to get power behind them. Just takes time. Oh, and go read your comment to John Longstreth. @Necronaut Ya, many drummers slack off on the technique and effort when triggers are involved. I hate when bands have drummers that heavily rely on triggers. Most contemporary hardcore and metalcore bands do this. Which is why I don't listen to stuff like this. But I am a drummer, so I check it out just to observe.

@Necronaut We would have to disagree on that one... There are tons of guys with power on doubles, like Longstreth, Kerim Lechner, Kollias, Reinert, Rios, Mauro Mercurio and many, many more. Sure it's much harder to have power on doubles, but good mics and solid playing can be plenty heard. Chris Reifert of Autopsy can kill a room and he hates triggers :) Yes, they make less powerful guys sound great, but great players need them not.

It doesnt chage the fact that we played there with them and opened up that show. We werent on the tour just for that one stop that year. We won a battle of the bands to get there.
