You also forgot to mention that some of those mushrooms sometimes have "white beards" & that other much smaller mushrooms grow around the normal sized mushroom (those are suppose to be the "elfs" or so I'm told).

They are powerfull, but also dangerous to consume if the user has no ideawhat he's doing. These mushrooms need to be given respect, so they can fill the spirit.

But that's not the point of my message - siberian shamans did not just leave the mushrooms and go away, but also helped and guided people through the experiences. And the christmas tree decoration is nothing more than a symbol of the mushroom caps during the drying process - shamans put them on such trees for some time to let them dry.
