  • Tell me again why Elizebeth May wasn't a part of this... What a total lack of faith this debate installs in its citizens.

  • Wow. Harper appealing to his base (though in a manner unlikely to convince anyone else) and Jack Layton dominating while Ignatieff just seems stiff, lumbering and partisan; I assume this is not the Leaders debate Ignatieff imagined when he decided to move to Canada from MA to become Prime Minister ;)

  • Also, they really just attack Harper. It's annoying, they hardly explain a single change in policy and they rarely sell theirs. Just a blame game, weak.

  • There just aren't enough voters in Canada.

  • Harper's eyes.. Ohhh his eyessss. Him speaking TO THE VIEWER is overboard engaging lol.

  • I don't think anyone expected this when we first watched the debate... Iggy's Liberals decimated, the frog separatists utterly destroyed, the NDP dominating Quebec, Jack Layton dead, and Harper's Conservatives in complete control with a majority.

  • Harper is calm, cool, and collected. He stayed out of the mud, and stayed on message, and thats why he won the debate and the election.

  • I remember during the Federal election the scandal with Jack Layton geting caught in a massage parlour naked by cops who were raiding the place. Ignatieff is trying to get on Layton's good side here, but Layton wants to eat him alive and is taking no hostages. Jack is the best....haha. R.I.P. Jack.

  • 1:29:10 OH SNAP!!

  • imagine if Layton became Prime Minister... Damn. He would be amazing

  • @kris2flip you're right. The country would be bankrupt in an amazingly short period of time.

  • All this debate is is everyone taking a shot at Harper whenever they can. Being an NDP supporter I can't complain.

  • Layton had one hell of a sense of humor. He's got the best one liners by far.

  • @xxqcpowerxx Who cares about Duceppe, Bloc Quebecois is dead, FINALLY. NDP FOREVER :D

  • Jack Layton took it to all of them. Going to be hard for the NDP to replace him. He had the gift of the mouth and knew how to deal with people. I don't know this Ms. Trumell but she has some big shows to fill.

  • freakin' ignatief!

  • @1234dpeck WELL THAT REMINDS ME OF A PUZZLE.

  • RIP Jack. I never liked you or your politics but you won me over during this debate and i'll always remember you fondly for it

  • Lmfao, Haropur Doesnt even answer his questions i love him.

this is why he always wins, he doesnt get too caught up on how stuff should be, rather than deal with how shit already is

  • You will be missed Jack... =(

  • Harper: "Economy"

    Ignatieff: "Trust"

    Harper: "Economy"

    Ignatieff: "Trust"

Layton: "Ignatieff and Harper are both bad people to vote for"

    Ignatieff: "Trust"

    Harper: "Economy"

Ducceppe: BLAHBLAHBLAH I'M ANGRY AT ALL OF YOU!!!!

There I just summed up 2 hours for you guys. Because that is all I learned when I watched the full thing back in April.

  • @Sithlord703 It's truly sad when I haven't even pressed play, yet I fully believe you.

  • @Sithlord703

Oh man, That was one of the best comments i've read in awhile.

  • Harper looks like a young darth sidious. He looks just like an american Neo- Con piece of shit from America. How did you guys fall for that shit? I thought you were smarter than us?

  • @AphelionXII Old people are stupid, young people didn't vote, Canada in ruins by 2015 :(

  • Listening to Harper talk makes me wanna hang myself.... the guy needs to shut up and just answer the fucking question

  • This was not a debate, especially by Harper. So un engaging & scripted. He could have easily been replaced by a cardboard cutout. Definitely agree with JAck Layton that there needs to be proportional representation, the voting system is whack.

  • I loved the part when the two opposing leaders (Jack Layton and Michael Ignatieff) and the one major doofus (Gille Ducepe) are all yelling at Stephen Harper all at once, and his face when.

  • I loved the part when the two opposing leaders (Jack Leyton and Michael Ignatieff) and the one major doofus (Gille Ducepe) are all yelling at Stephen Harper all at once, and his face when.

  • @ajmlkhsa Why should I pay some rich kid so he can go to a place where he will get a document with which he'll receive twice my salary?

  • What a truely childish debate. You have harper not saying how he plans to expand the economy, (the only way I see that is through selling treasuries to the central reserve, to make imvestments that may pay off, and like or southern neighbour sprial into continuous bailouts due to leverage) and others not speaking for themselves but against harper. Only iggy had a plan.

  • hehe, looks like harper's being harper again. there. my comment was funny, now where're my 15 likes?

  • BILL 101 BILL 101 BILL 101 god...shut up lol

  • duceppe shouldnt even have been there, what a joke he is

  • @tallderektoronto :

HA HA HAH HA HAH HA HAH HAHAHAHAHA HAHA HE HEH HE HE HE HE HE!!!!!

    TRUE! TRUE! TRUE!

  • I Love politic

  • I love politics but the first part was interesting

  • fuck harper

  • harper is a spine less puppet

    why follow america

people needs to take over instead of these fake people they put up

the logical choice seems to be ndp and ron paul for the us

  • I love you Jack!!!!!

  • @fftoocool...THE Jack Layton that lived in CO-OP Housing in To on your

dime when he & his wife were earning well over 200.000 pr/yr? ,... the one

that was arrested by the TO police for being in a body rub parlour ... THAT

one....the one that advocates Socialism in his Government so you can be

oppressed while he lives like King Jack..?? Seems to me you better do a whole

lot more studying on NDP - the only party that REFUSES to make their

constitution available to the Public- THAT oNE ...

  • @ONLYthroughTHECROSS Yup, that one!!! : )

  • Anyone who could watch this, in its entirety, deserves a medal.

  • harper is a tool. he looks at the camera everytime he speaks why doesnt he talk to the people he's debating? bad manners..

  • @bomberZee if you look closely, harper does not look at the camera but instead at the bottom of it.

  • unitedworld4everyone...please shut up.

  • @jiggaboo904 interesting debate and not a side show?

  • i liked the french guy! i would never vote for his party but i am very happy he was there! i mean he rocked!

  • you can tell harper was reading everything that was written, fuck

  • I don't really know how this is an equal debate. Its three guys of the same political ideology against the opposing guy. This is why there is no point in having more than two parties.

  • w...t....f is wrong with the guy on the lefts eyes? IS HE HALF ASLEEP or stoned or something?

  • wow,so thats a canadian debate? Wow ,the u.s. secret service would arrest someone talking to our president like that, you guys rock. FREE SPEECH.

  • @theyetty4ever Canada doesn't have Free Speech Rights only the US

there are 'hate speech' laws in Canada ie if 'someone' doesn;t like what

you said you can be charged.....just ask Mark Steyn & Ann Coulter.

  • I thought Layton was going to call Ignatieff Harpers BITCH instead of best friend.

  • Speaking as a Conservative, I must say that I admire Jack Layton's tenacity. Despite the fact that I may share some different view points, I think he will prove to be a very effective opposition leader. The Liberals tend to think they have a right to run the government and their arrogance will continue to be their downfall. At least with the NDP the left will now have a voice.

  • @baird007 i was thinking the reason the liberals want you to "think" your choice is liberal or conservative is because the NDP is a BOOT to highjack the liberal base? He even said it right at the end! your choice is liberal/conservative!

  • You vote for who you think is best. When you strategy vote, you compromise the integrity of your own choice.

  • hahaha harper kicked your asses in the election!

  • THANKS FOR UPLOADING !!!! HOW DID YOU GET THE VIDEO ?

  • second question.

Why did the Liberals get whacked? Ignatieff seems like a great communicator, charismatic and very smart, but through his leadership the Liberal party suffered the biggest loss in their history as a party, not mentioning Ignatieff losing his seat.

    Answers anyone?

  • @IHARVWD Hey there, I think Conservatives won because of the past failures and current failures of the Liberals. We have a Ontario Liberal Premier who acts more like a Conservative. Ignatieff, undoubtedly intellectual, is seen by many as an American advocate as he worked in the US for about 33 yrs. In short, he's a "traitor". In addition, I think Ignatieff's manner of speaking causes people to think of him as arrogant or they just don't like to hear what really is happening right now.

  • @IHARVWD Based on the performance and history of the Liberal Party and their current leader, I think people voted Conservatives is due to Harper's (rather personal) attack ads. People SIMPLY BELIEVED the media. However, around 60%, of the total people ellgible to vote, voted. Harper managed to acquire at least 40%, NDP coming in second (very close), Liberal third (maybe 5%), and Bloc Quebecois (practically zero : D, mostly because no one was interested in being a separate nation at the time)

  • @IHARVWD Lastly, for clarification, past failures of the Liberals include not eliminating GST, getting the country into a deficit, raising taxes, created scandals on the federal level. There's more but I don't have the time to research on it, hope someone else actually reads this and corrects me. Harper is an uncharismatic bore (seriously). My uncle in UK is with the labour party too !!! and my family is with the NDP : D

  • @IHARVWD i think ignatieff focused too much on bringing another party down instead of gaining support for his own party, that's why ndp stole thier votes

  • Hello Canadians,

We (UK Labour party) have been watching this election from afar and just like the rest of the world, trying to understand what in the world is going on.

Can someone explain a couple things:

The big one is why did Canada elect a seemingly impassive, uncharismatic, evangelical, neo-conservative hawk beset by fraud and corruption scandals to a crushing electoral win? Was it apathy? Was it through fault of the other leaders? Or is he actually quite popular?

    Which brings me to my-

  • @IHARVWD canada is a country of immigrants and older adults find that conservatives better represent their morals and values. young people like to vote for socialist parties that want to please everyone and become unstable in federal government

  • @PassionateTube "canada is a country of immigrants" How many people in this country are immigrants? Does this mean the majority of the population, born in this country, should be ignored? Should immigrant opinion be put ahead of Canadians?

  • i liket he two top rated coments. basically saying how the election went lol

  • 0:58:02....BURNED LOL

  • HARPER CLOSES THINGS OFF - He`s not a democrat he is a complete DICTATOR in hiding, Ignatief is right ! As is Duceppe as is Layton... wish these 3 parties had sucked up the CON vote

  • I have to watch this for a stupid fuckin social assignment !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @5982619 well poor you ! :P

  • @5982619 Tells how much you care about you country...

someone should ship you off to Cuba where are starving

  • @ONLYthroughTHECROSS Don't even try to start an arguement. First of all, the debate is over and I'm in grade 10. I can't even vote yet so why should i care right now. I'll care alot more when I'm 18. Think before you start shit.

  • @ONLYthroughTHECROSS I'm only in grade 10, I can't even vote yet. Just because I say one thing doesn't mean I don't care.

  • lol after all the commercials this is like the big season premier of some reality show

  • Educated people vote conservative, high school drop outs vote NDP, NDP is unrealistic, there ideas sound great, but they would decimate the economy and ruin our country. It is scary that they are the official opposition now, if they were ever to win a federal election Canada would be in economic ruin

  • @uni4life1619 That's complete rubbish.

  • @uni4life1619 "Canada would be in economic ruin" We are already there, thanks to the Conservatives. We have record debt and deficit, we have governing party that was held in contempt of parliament, an MP who was held in contempt of parliament. How many more of these scandals need to happen, before you open your eyes?

  • @uni4life1619 even though it's four months old it still shows how immature and uneducated a student from a "prestige university" can be. Let me be clear that you aren't from Havard or MIT, and even if you are, your lack of knowledge on economics, social inequality and capitalism itself surprises me. You can be a "slave of the empire" who begs big corp for food all you want, be aware that you may as well be layed off and become the poor people you laughed at this very time. mark my words.

  • @omggggggggify the conservatives know that a nation runs on the corporations it consists of and not the poor beggars like yourself. There is nothing wrong with focusing funds to people that matter in society

  • @uni4life1619 I don't think you even consider the possibilities to run your own corporation, which is almost impossible under that current conservative control b/c small business doesn't get chances to grow big. Now tell me, who is the coward and poor beggars here who talk about being obedient to the big empire instead of make one of your own.

  • @omggggggggify Not impossible if you're educated like myself, now stop getting mad and get educated, the conservatives are going to be in power for a long time so you might aswell start pulling your weight instead of hoping the NPD will get elected so you get a bigger welfare check... society leech.

  • @uni4life1619 I know you have no repect to someone who is pratically in the same school and same program as you have, and probably recieve better GPA than you ever had. But you really don't get conservatives polocies towards small business.Check how many people who are from more prestige schools and well educated and still fail at work, then you may start to notice that you are just nobody even with 4.0 on your transcript. what a dumb ass

  • @omggggggggify I know grades arent everything, you need a mix of smarts and sociallability to suceed in business, but you cant have one without the other. And if you have both, it isnt so far-fetched to start a business. Besides Jack Layton isnt a leader, he cant even fucking live properly hahaha

  • harper sucks dick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @22evil1990 maybe is he got caught doing it he'd resign LOL

  • ROFL the first guy complaining about corporate tax cuts, we need these for the economy to be stable. Who the fuck cares about people trying to make ends meat, you should have stayed in school like me. Maybe you should have become a doctor or a lawyer and you wouldnt have to make ends meat.

  • @uni4life1619 Taxing companys rightly helps stableing the company if you dont takes them and the rich get richer the poor dont get richer they get poorer. its something they dont tell you about captilizim. if you are going to run a country you better take account of every industry. you do go to school to make ends meat you need ur grade 12 to qualify for allmost any job and most jobs in trade you do only make ends meat of 5 in a famliy. U should educate and think about other ppl before voting.

  • @MegaVenom777 something "they" don't tell us about capitalism? that might be the most ridiculous statement ever. Sounds like conspiracy theory communists to me.

  • @MegaVenom777 high school does not count as education you moron. I go to the most prestigious engineering school in Canada (Waterloo) so don't tell me I need to educate, your brain is that of a dog's compared to mine. I'm saying we should let the poor be poor, it is their fault, if they want to make money they should have thought about that before they decided not to pursue a higher education. The rich people who've worked hard should be rewarded with piles of money, they deserve it.

  • @uni4life1619 How is it their fault? Its the politcians fault not them people that work in the forest indurstrys and other industrys of canadas resorces are dieing out not because of the lack of resources but the lack of goverment support so you are saying the elities(The rich) that controll the goverment is a right thing for a goverment that is for all the people in canada. yes I believe that you allways need higher education to get better jobs

  • @uni4life1619 and also I am not saying you are not educated in your field I am saying you are un edcuated and blinded in poltics I do hope you learn alot of all partys and vote carefullu. I think of who can do the most for all of canadiens people but our choice this year sucks its like choosen from who is the lesser of the 5 evils.

  • @MegaVenom777 good sir or lady, don't waste your breath on these kinds of ppl. They live in a bubble........like Harper

  • @DOWSOE Thanks and I am a male Canadien/Danish my typing is a little bad but I am getting better. :)

  • @uni4life1619 you arrogant prick. If you're so smart, don't be a Conservative in using personal insults at others. Because real intellectuals uses their minds to win arguments ! Let the poor be poor ? Hell, you might as well tell the children of Africa to die because they're dying !

  • @uni4life1619 "Who the fuck cares about people trying to make ends meat, you should have stayed in school like me" Meat? Did you get your education at a private school? LMAO!

  • @sweiland75 nope :) actually I am getting my education at the most prestigious engineering school in Canada University of Waterloo. How about you? And I use the term "ends meat" because it makes more sense to a genius like myself... people try to make money so they can eat the shit end of a cow.

  • est-ce c'est moi ou sur la cravate de Duceppe on dirait des couilles?

  • Perhaps it's minor but I don't see how Steven Harper can excite anyone into voting for him. He's expressionless, dead eyes, just blankly stares and speaks monotone. It's awkward seeing him up there because he seems like a nerd who's getting picked on, no thick skin !

I don't care if he had a platform to save the world he'd never be able to convince me !

  • cant wait to see the results!

  • I am honestly surprised that so many people here that are criticizing Stephen Harper are criticizing his aesthetic rather than his answers and his party's weak points.

Why don't we criticize the fact that the other parties don't have anything to say in terms of their parties' positive potential but would rather keep going back to the same things over and over?

By the way, NDP, I'd vote for them... if they had the money to back up their ambition.

  • @IncliningPizza Isn't Harper doing the same thing? Harping on stuff that isn't happening (like economic recovery)?

  • Any sources on harpers talk about economic specialists saying that raising taxes on corporations will hurt the economy more?

  • @atviking it's conventional wisdom, anyyone that sat through the first lesson of Econ 101 knows that, in times of recession raising taxes makes the prices go up which decreases demand thus business and besides it makes the place unattractive for investment.

  • Also, I live in Quebec, and most of us don't want to cede from Quebec and don't understand why Bloc is still a party. Don't lump us all together. Do some fucking research before you trash my province.

  • i like or used to like the liberals but ignatieff has to go

  • Anyone who votes for Ignatieff needs serious help. Harper is also a tool.

  • I can't take Steven Harper seriously with his dead eyes. He doesn't look at anything.

  • I found it funny when the leaders stopped beating around the bush and insulted one another, like at 1:46:50

  • Clearly voting NDP will make Canada perfect, its that easy

  • Jack Layton is Gold.

  • good point layton made about 1.3 million votes for blocs and they get however many seats because of the concentrated area. 900,000 votes for green and zero seats........thats bull. they should get seats based on votes all together and not broke up into the winner of a zone. I want a green seat so our voice can be heard in the house of commons.

  • @MrSoloSanchez and you did, May is in HOC now.

  • Where is Elizabeth May??? :(

  • @MrSoloSanchez Elizabeth May isn't a huge political party leader...The Green Party doesn't even get a seat in the house of commons.

  • @jazumyujishan They did get one.

  • @sweiland75 I know. This is the first time ever, I commented when they had no prior seat.

  • Is it just me or was this video basically everyone attacking Harper and Harper was trying to defend himself? Hell, Harper barely even defended himself against everyone's accusations?

  • @hawkfrost43 As Borsauce and Harper said.... This is simply not true.

  • This is simply not true.

  • I SAY VOTE NDP AND GET RID OF THE CONSERVATIVES , FIND A GOOD LEADER IN THE NEXT ELECTION.

  • does this look like a playground fight with little kids trying to gain power to anyone else

  • @donniesview Just go to Sudan or something your wish will come true America and Canada are civilized countries so we have laws and government, I'm an American citizen who also smokes weed and likes to drink while I'm driving and it makes it better because these things are outlawed, there would be no value to marijuana if it was legal so I wish it's always illegal.

  • Michael Ignatieff, please shut up

  • It is so sad that men like this can a job let alone one of the most important ones. Harper wastes money and want laws that will crack down on crime I am a canadian citizen who consumes cannabis. By law I am not allowed to, I fundamentally disagree with these laws on the fact that crimes have victims, I am not a victim. I am tired of having things restricted to the point I don't feel safe in my own home because the police might break in. I hope for a better tomrrow, can I get it with these clowns

  • What an ugly fucking room.

  • Wow. Harper is a douche

  • the only good point ive ever heard layton make in my life is when he talked about proportional representation reform

  • harper cuts through all the BS, all the oppositions arguments are all spin, they hope and pray canadians are too stupid to do their own homework on the "issues"

  • love the way harper gestures at the moderator to shut up jack layton

  • Comment removed

  • Personally if were one of you Canucks I'd vote for Ignatieff, he just seems a little more focused on what he's here to do and he'd probably get things done.

  • @MrFuhrer2009 Good thing you're not a Canuck then. We "Canucks" don't appreciate Mr. Ignatieff, who returned to Canada only to become Prime Minister...

  • @apacpaco Who are you going to pick? I personally think Ignatieff is the only person in this debate room who can get things right, if he was an American I swear Ignatieff would be my vote, fuck off Obama and Biden and all other faggots running things in the U.S. bring Ignatieff to office.

  • @MrFuhrer2009 I appreciate your views, so go ahead and take Mr. Ignatieff back then. We don't need elitists running our country. Who am I going to pick? Mr. Layton. I want a Canada that is not parallel to the USA.

  • @MrFuhrer2009 You seem to be under the impression that your opinion is relevant to us.

  • @MrFuhrer2009 well Ignatieff should seem a little more focused ! He was a professor at Havard and all.

  • And Ignatieff? I don't know if I would like to have him as my president, but at least he's showing life here, even though his attacks seem to be just blames and get personal from time to time. Seriously I thought my Republicans and Democrats were clowns but who knew Canada has the same problem.

  • I'm not even a Canadian and this is the first time I'm watching a canadian election debate and I have to say Canadian politics is a total joke there are 4 guys in this debate one guy can't even speak clear English the "prime minister" can't even answer questions asked and to add onto he can't even talk with eye contact to his adversaries, there's just no life in this guy, the guy beside the prime minister seems like he's just there to have a good time.

  • @MrFuhrer2009 That's because Canada is a bilingual country, we have leaders' debate in both French and English. The guy who can't speak English doesn't want to be Prime Minister, he's the leader of a separatist party whose only goal is to secede Quebec from Canadian Confederation. His votes come only from the province of Quebec. The good thing about Canada is that it isn't a two party state like the States, we have variety and we don't mind giving other parties a chance to govern.

  • @MrFuhrer2009 its better than michelle bachman.....

  • The NDP will scrutinize the wasteful spending on military planes and wars in Libya and Afghanistan. The NDP will bolster our civil liberties while Harper has taken them away. A Layton government will have devoted civil rights advocates in MP's Libby Davies and Thomas Mulclair. The Layton government will certainly not raise taxes for the middle class, and it’s likely we will see much less corporate welfare.

  • Harpers a lying serpent cocksucker.

  • Layton may be charismatic but the NDP's policies are laughable at best.

  • @gojacketsgo61 lol well i hope your not voting conservative they didnt even make a platform

  • @tbone66613 Not even voting this election. I don't like any of the leaders.

  • Harper looks forward blankly like he's blind.

  • did anyone else feel like michael ignatieff repeated himself alot? I thought he dodged questions and just brought up mostly personal attacks on stephen harper.

  • @f7ss 1stevan harper is primeminister thats why all the questions are directed to him , also i feel like stevan harper repeats himself ALOT answering questions , it sounds like hes answering the same question over and over again not the question he was asked , im gonna have to go with NDP

  • JACK LAYTON IS A FUCKING BOSS.

    NDP :)

  • "let the flowers bloom. Let democracy bloom. Let it breathe".... wow, that was embarassing.

  • at 58:45, Layton tells Iggy to talk to the hand... haha... nice

  • I can't wait for a majority Government! You can tell Harper should be back in, because these dinks can't manage to make a real point or argument. Layton is the only real opponent, and he's a complete idiot. "Are you calling me old?" A well thought out defense. Finally things will get done.

  • I can't wait for a majority Government! You can tell Harper should be back in, because these dinks can't manage to make a real point or argument. Layton is the only real opponent, and he's a complete idiot. Finally things will get done.

  • NDP for Proportional Representation and the win!

  • hahahaha.."When I go to Canada a lot of times I say 'I'm a bloke who turned Bloc'" hahaha "when I go to Canada". Fucking right Gilles when you come to Canada we respectfully ask you to GTFO just as we ask Harper to GTFO!

  • I'm not a Canadian, but this Harper guy is rude, not even making any eye contact.

  • Of course Harper wants a majority government, because with his giant ego he has deluded himself into believing the Canadian people actually might want him as Prime Minister again. The creep can't even stop gaze-fucking the camera long enough to wipe the crust out of his eye. His government with a majority is a terrifying thought. You thought they were bullies before..hoo wee!

  • I know who i'm voting for...the NDP!

  • NDP all the way! Jack Layton thumbs up!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • happy to see the NDP better supported.... but raising business taxes is the wrong move. Discouraging foreign/domestic investment is just bad economics and bad for Canadas future. Also, the other leaders seemed childish and petty in the debate.
