  • Great job, man! Forget those arrogant assholes who obviously don't know a fuckin thing about drumming - just like to type a bunch of B.S. if you ask me. Drummim=ng is not an easy thing to do especially when you have four different limbs going at once! Kepp up the great effort! :)

  • @August875 Thanks.

  • I've watched a few of your vids and you are a good drummer, ignore the haters and dickheads. Fellow drummer ;)

  • not bad but no good :)

    practice

  • Only talentless people hate... Good job dude

  • Good job. The breaks are a little sloppy, but the rhythm parts and bass work are actually pretty tight. That's the most important thing by far.

  • @GrungeNYC what are you talking about? he is a human mtronome

  • Great drum cover!

  • I have no clue why people think this guy is off time/playing it wrong/playing it poorly. This is a spot on cover.

  • my god i wanna cry that poor snare :'(

  • WTF GUYS ??? Its a hard song...hard as hell !!! dont be losers and thumbs up this guy ... he is good !

  • you'r the man ....

  • i think your a lot better than Lars is for sure.....

  • rearrange your toms, they're fucking verticle

  • 'm sorry bro but you are a loser !!

  • @deadlyxxgame Takes one to know one.

  • @deadlyxxgame

I think he is a great drummer lol. Me and my second guitarist are searching for drummer and I could do anything for having such a drummer in my neighborhood :/

  • @czerwakamil LMFAO

  • All you people with your negative comments. Go fuck yourselves.

  • Sorry, timings are messed up dude

  • all i can say is well done buddy, even if i had a drum kit theres no way in hell id try Shortest straw let alone any metallica song... so i say again well done mate

  • @snookems84 Thanks dude.

  • Weak Sauce

  • if anybody here can play it better, anybody even has got drums of their own......please play it better and give an video answer......or else shut the fuck up.....yes it doesn't sound so good and timing is off but he did it anyway and U DIDN'T......

  • @palledrengens You can hold an opinion about drumming without playing drums. If he plays poorly then, regardless of how well anyone else can play, he played poorly.

  • :( Ahh someone needs to tune the fuckers....

  • man, you suck.. on drums

  • so u got a nice drum now the only thing left to do is learn to play it xD

  • Sound was recorded with camera mike I guess.... Not really suitable for it :P

  • ur neighbours sure loves you :D

  • damn how mouch does the drum set cost

  • you dont deserve a drum kit ............... especially not tama.

  • @tetrisskinny Yet I have one and you don't. Bwahahahaha...

  • @afazrul79, shit kit

  • @tetrisskinny Neither does Ulrich and he has millions of em

  • wrooong

  • @afazrul79 Sweet man, you should try a Stryper cover ;)

  • Someone needs a lesson in Tom Placement! There like side ways!

  • @rockstarrken Hahahaaa. True. The placement was a bit messed up. I have since changed it. It is now mounted on my right (where my floor tom used to be).

  • Drum kit is badd, timing REALLY BAD. Keep practicing bro!!!!!

  • your footwork is poppycock

  • cool - keep it up!

  • lars is a woos :p

  • And finally, Lars uses Tama Starclassic Maple live and I believe on Death Magnetic. Yours appear to be the Rockstar drums from Tama that I mentioned, which are capable of sounding good. So unfortunately you have to get rid of this kit and fork out about 5 or 6 grand for the Starclassic with that many drums...maybe more. Then you can be more like Lars, if that's your goal. Or better yet, get a Gretsch USA Custom kit, which is expensive but sounds amazing, way better than the Tama Starclassic.

  • Oh, and "minor screw-ups"?? You must be on crack...this sounds like shit from beginning to end. Sorry, but develop your ears man. Damn. It would just be nice to see and hear some vids that are actually good and faithful to the original, or better yet, a good version with your own twist on it. But, the good news is practice does make us better. Just stick with it man, use a metronome with some headphones or in-ears, and ALWAYS work on your timing, rudiments, groove, technique. Best of luck

  • Lars recorded the Black album and some later ones with Gretsch U.S.A. Custom drums. Whether you like the Black album or not, the drums sound fuckin' great and they are Gretsch. He even used Sabian hi-hat cymbals on a few tracks. He always uses Tama live. I figure if you can't get a sound you like with the drums you have in the studio, why use 'em live? You can get a Tama Rockstar kit, one of their cheaper ones, to sound good live, but in the studio? Probably not too great. Use what you like

  • Good Job Bro !

  • goodddddddd

  • afiina los tambores :D se oiie bn ogt

  • Great recording, not many people on youtube use an 9 piece, or is it an eight piece cant see a tom on the right, or is it a 7 piece i cant see 2 floor toms lol

  • @masterofpuppets2092 it's a 7 piece. 2 bass, 1 snare, 2 toms mounted on the bass, 1 tom mounted to the stand, 1 floor tom.

  • @afazrul79 not being rude but how much was that lol

  • @masterofpuppets2092 so far i have spent 20k on it.

  • @afazrul79 A Question why you pick tama

    ?

  • @Gunnershaun1380 Because Lars plays Tama.

  • @afazrul79 So you just spent 20k on a kit just because Lars plays it even though it is an ok kit you still need to have personal choice other wise you will just be a Lars rip off be an individual

  • @Gunnershaun1380 I always had a "wanting" for a drum. It looked awesome. But when I heard Nirvana, I realized that drum is what makes a song awesome. I started to listen closely to what dave and lars were playing. I have been a Metallica fan since I was 10. And I always told myself that one day I will buy a Tama double bass with Zildjian cymbals and Iron Cobra. By the way, I use Ahead sticks (Lars' signature series).

  • @afazrul79 facepalm... -_- you fail'd

  • Bet your mom loves you playing in the dining room 'till the WEEEEE hours of the night....lol!!

  • @kprellop I only play on saturdays and sundays between 9am to 6pm.

  • pinche loquito jajajaja

  • you should`ve practice it before posting

  • Awesome!

  • dude that was awesome!:D just tune ur toms a bit then it will be PERFECT

  • first go to lessons dude..

  • little fat dude can (not) play!

  • change out the heads and tune them... sounds like a walmart drumkit.

  • get a metronome :)

  • @kubavitasek how can you combine a metronome with the playback track? I also have problems with my time when I do playbacks. but I HAVE got a metronome and practise with it when I don't playbacks.

  • nope, don't combine it. when listening and playing along with a track, you must feel the inner click. that's why you have to practice with metronome to get the feel of the tempos and hearing them.

  • @kubavitasek that's what I do. but I sometimes lose the concetration on the inner click. there are so many other things you have to concetrate on while you're playing a song. what can I do against loosing the the feel?

  • That's no excuse - we are drummers, we are meant to coordinate the concentration on playing the song right + playing with the inner click + looking good.

Try playing the song only by hands and step the tempo on your hi-hat. I guess you don't have any problems with the double-bass drum, so you can add it later on.

Also try to count when listening to the song you want to play. You're a drummer, you need to know where the tempo is. In fact, you're in control of that, when not playing with a song.

  • @kubavitasek lol metronomes r for noobs. i think if u need 1 u shouldnt even be playing drums. unless ur a begginger. but either way this guy really needs it. epic fail. y do all the ppl with good sets on youtube suck? well then again there is a reason his a metalika. i mean they only have a shitty drummmer. which is played exactly how this guy is playing it. so i dont blame him for sounding so shitty. i mean if u want to sounds good u have to play something good.... right? or am i wrong?

  • Fail the begining a bit but pretty nice!!

  • great video but it would help some music to complement the drums, just in a very low volume;)

  • Will record another one and put it up.

  • only little thing you messed up on were some cymbal hits at the begging but that was awsome

  • not bad at all

  • \M/

  • great! just work on the intro, it sounded a little off, but otherwise GREAT

  • very good:)) nice set BTW

  • time to be funny

  • Very goood man!

  • Thanks man

  • Very good man.. I like this cover..

  • ok maybe i should leave the shortest straw until i have enough skill

  • i cant hear the bass

  • what an exellenct cover well done!

  • Hey dude! This is fucking amazing!!! Great sound and great drumkit....ROCK IT!!!!!

  • Dude that was pretty sick. Also how can that dumb fuck not hear the double bass? Use the kick pedals my ass, moron. Stupid bluestar9864.

  • the intro sucked

  • Ok.

  • oopps its motorhead. Sorry

  • I would love to hear you play overkill by motorhate

  • Let me check out it out first. I've never heard of motorhate.

  • use the fucking kick pedals

  • I was. It was not loud enough.

  • Ooooh. You mean motorhead. Ok. Give me time to practice.

  • finally i found a cover that isnt from guitar hero

  • ANy idea how I can get my videos to come up on the top section of searches in youtube?

  • well put up more tags

and probably change your title to shortest straw drum cover

  • What a big shit

  • How the fuck you get the hell out of there?, jumping over the drum??? hehe, I'm just kidding...

  • Either I climb up the bed and go around or I move the crash (near hi-hat) and go in through there. There has been a few times when I knocked my head on the cymbals when I was sleeping.

  • dude awesome

  • jajaja your room is so fucken big xD

  • Not big enough.

  • nice tama set

  • if those are A-HEAD metallica sticks i got thoese to

  • Yup

  • where go you get them and are they 5A or what

  • They are Lars's signature series. I have 3 pairs and also 1 pair of Joey Jordison sticks (smaller in diameter).

  • are lars' 5A

  • I think it's 5B. 5A is a bit thinner.

  • lars's signature ahead sticks are closest to the 5B size. joey jordison's former ahead sticks are closest to the 7A size.

  • i use 7A

  • hey i see you have a drum mat that fits ur whole set. I have a double bass set that slides, and i cant find a matt to fit it. Can u help me

  • I just bought it at a carpet store. It's a cheap one (the type that is normmaly used in offices, so you can customize the size). I bought 8x7.

  • shit, you are good, man, ..

  • Thanks

  • What the fuck? Dude, Lars is Lars. Nobody can play Metallica better than Lars.

  • hahha you play that better than lars. lol good job mang
