  • hey see above - its a joint issue

  • doah! A B B O T T double T. thats what we'll get from labor education. nice try. nice tly.

  • If it was merely a state responsibility, why then do we have a FEDERAL minister for health ya punce?

  • With all due respect your argument is bogus and not backed up by the AIHW report showing the Coalition has underfunded State public health by close to$2bn. Moreover Howard has failed to promptly act on training of nurses, doctors and allied health. It is irresponsible to consider hospitals as separate from primary care and there is no doubt that the serious shortage of GPs in most parts of Aus creates a significant problem for public hospitals who are forced to take up the slack.

  • Actually it is both a State and Federal responsibility but given that the Coalition has seen fit to campaign on it and that KRudd is suggesting radical reform to resolve the blame-shifting I think Abbott's response has been abysmal. His one policy contribution is to bring back Hospital Boards which will be an absolute disaster as it will ensure that each little hospital insists on having State of the Art everything whether it is needed or is available down the road or not.

  • yupo Abbot, shit happens eh?

  • I like it. But it's "Abbott" with two t's. :)
