  • I'm really just wondering what the hell they did to that Z. Stock they aren't terribly fast. Did he go supercharged or turbo? Ultimately though it does have a substantially larger displacement than the S4.

  • Now they're glorified Audi's and thank God for that. Other than the Italian styling they were garbage before that. But it's all VAG. Don't get so touchy. It's still a nice car. I just don't think people should be crappin on APR for this "off the shelf" crap. Just because they sacrifice some horsepower to keep their product emissions legal. And if you don't live right by an in house tuner, they seem to bee the best alternative.

The point is that most of Audi's cars share the majority of their parts with a comparable VW. Your S4 is no exception. Pretty much only the high end cars like the R8 stand alone in the lineup.

  • @TrustworthyMtgGuy Other than the 2.7T you can get the R32, the Golf R and the Passat or CC with 4 Motion all wheel drive (VW doesn't call it quattro) and most of them have a 6 spd option. The old R32's came with 6 as well. And anything you can do to a 2.7 T I can do to a VR6, probably for less money. And what is looking dated? the S4?

  • @hooahayes the R32 is a 3.2 liter engine, that's why its called an R32, Volkswagen has never had a car with a 2.7tt engine. @drewnashty pretty summed up the AWD systems.

  • @hooahayes I'm not defending the other guy, but there is no VW that has the 2.7TT engine, and there's only been one VW that used a Torsen based AWD system, B5 Passat. Other car makes do use Torsen tho. Torsen is mechanical, instant, less prone to understeer and gives the driver more feel and input vs the electronic Haldex that is used an all other VW's and some Audis and due to less drag is more fuel efficient than Torsen. You can update the Haldex but it still can't perform equal to Torsen

  • @drewnashty I get that there are differences. This all started with some guy not knowing that Audi's are made of mostly VW parts and have been for quite a while. If you read back it gets pretty ridiculous. Personally I'd rather have a VR6 than the 90 degree Audi block from the B5. Hell of a lot less problems.

  • @MrRcarney2010 No I am a former MK1 GTI owner and a current MKV gti owner. I love VW's and yeah in a way a Lambo is an Audi (thank God). I like some JDM and American Muscle too. But I am a huge VW fan. My point was that an Audi is really a classed up VW, which the S4 is. And the S4 guy on this page started getting all badge snobbish like his car isn't 90% VW parts. And yes all of those exotics are funded by VAG.

I have many friends with A4s, S3s, S4... and they sure dont go to APR with peformance, VAST, AWE, JHM... those are real shops. I have a VAST Stage 3 S4 with w/m injection and it drives just like stock, of course until I step on the accelerator! ;) And no, no any retard can slap a huge turbo/fuel management on these cars, lol, you sound like one though.

  • @hooahayes About 430awhp and its my daily driver, 120k miles, runs smooth! I can pass emissions with no problems, my setup allows me to put the cats back on and off whenever I want. The w/m injection is for an extra punch, it starts spraying at 8psi and full spray at 14psi. Its almost like using race gas on pump gas and it cools down the temp. on the intake! Awesome upgrade! The S4 on the video is probably an OTS tune putting down 350awhp or maybe a little more.

Check the forums, I have heard almost no complaints about APR except price. You also have to think about drivability for everyday use, which APR does. Any retard can slap a huge turbo/fuel management and intercoolers for big numbers

  • @Billboard2001 dude i eat 350z's from a roll or a dead stop and i only have an a4 if that guy cant beat a twin turbo one with an s4 i will gladly take it off his hands and the vid info is wrong an s4 with k04's is a stage two at best, it becomes a stage 3 when you have gt25's or 30's so its annoying when people heighten the stage to try and make their cars look better, and if that s4 had a full exhaust done the turbo's would spool a hell of a lot faster making it a good stage two which it isnt

  • @metallicafn You my friend have no idea what you are talking about!! K04s are stage 2? Stage 3s are PJ K04s or larger!! Stage 3 is a GT25 or larger?? WTF?? LOL. Where do you get your info from? And no, you sure dont eat 350zs with your A4, you wont even beat a stock B5 S4 with your stage 2. The DPs will help the turbos to spool faster not the exhaust like you said! A decent stage 3 will run low 12s, a couple of tweaks and it will run high 11s, weight reduction or ODPs low 11s.

I know what Im talking about, I had a stage 2 A6 and now I have a full Stage 3 S4 doing 430AWHP with water/meth injection. You need to get your info right buddy... You are talking crap, dont let us B5s lovers down.

  • @JeansBiturboA6 ok facts are this you have k04 setup with exhaust work done s4 has 400hp+ thats stage 2 ,stage 3 people use gt30's with bigger injectors and ecu tune with intake mod which makes over 600hp easy those are the facts thats why they can run 11's flat out but i mean if you think k04 is stage 3 you my friend are the one who need to do your research, go on youtube and browse some vids and ask people who have stage 3's how much hp its putting out, generally 600hp+ check for urself

    stage 3 = k04's and fueling/tuning.

    stage 3+ = RS6's or TiAL 605's or GT25's on stock block... and so on..

    and jean is right.. only GT30's if the block is bored and stroked... they are to small (2.7) to get 2 GT30's rolling...lol..

  • @JeansBiturboA6 yes i am aware of both thanks and putting on tiny mods and making ur car seem like its going up so many stages at once just seems childish i've put 3k+ into my a4 and i still barely consider it a stage 2 so obviously i get annoyed when u guys sit there and say o look its a stage one because of a chip to the ecu, it goes up a stage when turbo's get bigger and intake and exhaust are included with turbo's so what u count for upping stage really doesnt count for me butpotato "potato"

  • @metallicafn i applaud you for being a free thinker and having your own opinion, but that does not change the facts. if you have problems with reality, deal with it via psychologist or other treatment, dont argue with us about what is or what isnt... or, you can call up AWE, APR, VAST, EPL, JHM, ASP, and tell them how they are wrong. ask them what is included in their stage 3 kit and then go ape shit on them and give them your points. let us know how it goes.

If you have a K04 then you are already runing a bigger turbo than stock you idiot! Yes, we have bigger intercoolers to handle the extra power! You will only achieve 400CHP with a big GT turbo!! While we achieve 500+CHP with PJ K04s!! Thats Stage 3 S4 you!!! You dont even know the difference between CHP and WHP!

I currently have a b5 s4 that's got a 3 liter stroker and runnin twin gt2871rs's,meth with 100 oct, fully built engine aswell...got the car brand new and first thing i did was stage 2+ chip,downpipes,and 35lb injectors and i wanted more lol

  • Stock B7 RS4 does 13.0 second flat quarter mile times. If this 350z is doing 11.6 .... answer is obvious. However, a b5 Rs4 with proper tune does high 10's low 11's in the quarter. Props to that Z....well done tune.

  • MTM is WAY over priced... Much like Dahlbäck... I'd much rather go the disco potato route than do MTM. Even w/ all the supporting Mods such as head work, built internals, fueling, diffs, clutch, trans, possible bore, you'd have a 700 hp + car for the price of a 460hp MTM... I wish MTM would be reasonable with their parts... Don't get me wrong, it is quality shit, but there is bigger and badder shit for that kind of money...

  • Im the one who made this video, both are my buddies cars and both are long gone, but the 350Z only ran an 11.6 because that was the first time with it at the track, and no its a complete street car with coilovers, DFINATELY not a drag setup. S4 ran a best of 12.2 @ 117 i believe, also first time at the track.. Z could have easily gone 10's and s4 mid 11's.. Z was built to be a kickass weekend car.
