  • just seen my vids on 666 views haha!

  • Great competition!

Not to rush you but when can we expect the results? xD

  • @TomRichardson92 Today is the closing day for entries. I'm nursing a busted ankle at the moment, but as soon as I can I'll put up a vid announcing a winner.

  • Hope I made my submission in time! You rock dingle!!!

  • What gauge of string is that bottom one? I use 54 right now. Drop B is about as low you can go with those, and even then they are floppy.

  • @TheFireball100 Try out the DR-DDT. They go from 10 down to 60. You get tight lows and a silky feal on the highs for more expression on the solos. For drop B tunning they are pretty good.

  • @JohnChaosVirtue thanks :)

  • great competition, uploading my entry tonight!

  • hey man do you perfer the 333 xl for metal core over the 6262 or the 6262 over the 333xl. i really want a 6262 but someone wants to sell me his 333 xl what do you think

  • @Darrenlawrence89 6262 is more raw and heavy but the 333xl is good if you want a seperate channel for solos. i prefer the rhythm tone of the 6262 personally.

  • I've subbed to everything, I'll be entering soon \m/

  • hey dingle that tone is massive! have you tried the bugera cabs ? if so how do they match up to the MF cab?

  • @ahvaimusicom Thanks man. Yeah I have tried the 4x12, I prefer the MF cabs though. If Bugera want to make me a signiture cab that will give me the same tone, I'd hapily use one.

  • Is there only 1 video entry?

  • @taylor122 you a geek man. just play the dam solo or STFU dude.

  • @OlafArisson Absolutely, can't wait to hear it man!!

  • Just wondering, Dingle, if someone were to win, how would they record and send their solo? Like with a program file (from Sonar, Pro Tools, etc.) or if they could send an mp3? And whether to add effects beforehand or let the guys at the studio do the effects? I know, it's too much to ask, but I'm really excited to upload a solo for the competition in hopes of winning.

  • @risingskater Hi there. How the winner records the solo is up to them, so long as it's of good audio quality, so something like cubase, protools, logic pro etc would be fine. I would prefer a WAV file. Best way to do that is to upload to rapidshare. Keep FX to a minimum, a bit of delay would be fine. Can't wait to hear your entry man!

  • @dingle1 Thanks, man! You're awesome!

  • ar well the video that you posted must just loop the solo then. i wasn't able to download the file you put. like i said, maybe if the chords were strummed and held in a posistion for a few seconds you could build the solo up to something. but its like iron maiden solo's e.g two mins to midnight. you just shred in the same places for 30 seconds and thats it.. i love solo's like sweet child, that go somewhere, or the unforigven? anyway! you live in devon, would be hard to get there lol!

  • @taylor122 Just tried the download link, it works fine. Takes about 3 minutes. The video doesn't loop the solo, I'll be playing what I have in mind for the first minute, whoever wins the competition will play ofer the 2nd minute, then the track changes quite considerably. Too bad you odn't like it, this kind of music is not for everyone. While I wouldn't dream of 2nd guessing what people play when they enter, I can assure you nothing I play to it will sound like Iron Maiden :)

  • @taylor122 way to completely over-analyse everything dude lol

  • what ever solo wins it will be a boring one!!! for a laff ill have a shred to it later! but you'll be glued to the same scales and key sigs as the riff barely changes for 2 mins!

  • @taylor122 Hi taylor. The backing track that people are invited to play over is nowhere near 2 minutes long, it's more like a minute. I can think of at least 3 scales and key sigs that could be used, more than enough to make an interesting 1 minute solo. Even confined to one key sig, one could make it interesting with a little imagination.

  • @taylor122 Just checked, it's exactly 1 minute.

  • @taylor122 Dude seriously? Have fun with it. I know i did! \m/

  • you want a 7 minute guitar solo lol! id be bored and out of idea's after 60 seconds! needs a keey change!

  • @taylor122

oh 2 and a half minutes!

  • How many seconds/measures into the backing track do you want the solo to start? Or do you want it all the way through?

  • @risingskater All of it :)

  • Comment removed

  • Ill have a crack :)

  • HI please just tell me your opinion. what do you think better the trirec or the 333? i mostly play metallica and some metalcore....thanks

  • I've edited the link and managed to put it in without any breaks!!

  • Do you know when this new bugera infinium stuff is going to be released?

  • @roryl9409 The word on the Trirec is April, as for the rest of the Infinium stuff I don't know.

  • @dingle1 Cheers, i would really like to get my hands on the 333xl infinium, it looks awesome!

  • @dingle1 good to know mate, I was planning on 2 shots of jack and then seeing what happens. I'll have to be a touch more creative then haha

  • I'm in this for sure man, good luck everyone.

  • I'll get working on this tomorrow. Is the winner expected to play the winning solo on the album or is improvisation appreciated?

  • @TheMWDMusic Yeah man, once we pick a winner they'll be expected to play the solo they submitted. I need to amend the rules on that one, never thought of it.

  • Note to everyone, for some reason only half the backing track link is highlighted in blue, you need to copy and paste the whole thing into your browser, including these numbers etc

    |783l34|448109661|Competition_track.WAV|19205

  • Backing track download doesn't work bro

  • @UltimateImperium yeah it does man, for some reason only half the link highlighted in blue, you have to copy and paste the whole thing including all the numbers |783l34|448109661|Competition_track.WAV|19205

  • @dingle1 Oh my bad, I didn't even notice the numbers after the blue. Thanks! I'll see if I can produce a dingle worthy solo haha
