Thanks for uploading this, especially the intro theme! I've been looking for it for some time. I always liked the movie and I don't think it's as bad as others say.
does anyone else just take this film as an ironic parody of spy films ingeneral? like the car with the tea machine? james bond has had something like that for years, but they are making it more stereotypical, ironic? isnt it ironic that our best agent sits and says short and sweet lines all the time, wears full suit and bowler hat, carries a umbrella and dives a car that has a tea dispenser? which i like i guess, also Connery's scenes are just innuendo lines, one after another lol.
magnificent opening sequence. however, this film goes downhill from the exact moment this clip ends. the problem with it is that there was obviously more scenes that would explain some of the off key sequences, but someone decided to cut them out leaving many questions just unanswered.
how the film makers could be happy with this version is beyond me.
@Watcher40000 This movie was never screened to a test audience... no press screening either from what I've heard. It would have helped to be given some criticism...maybe then Weintraub would have tweaked it. Shame. Yet, I've seen re-makes a lot worse off.
This one time I was talking with my mother about how joss whedon made doll house and it making no damn sense and he's making the avengers (that is the marvel comics version) and I was worried IT would make no sense. And she's all like "well it's a 60's tv show so how could it male sense" but I confirmed the marvel comics version to her and I told her they already adapted the 60's show into a movie. And we streamed it on Netflix just to confirm to everyone. And it had voldemort in it. And slugho
Great way to open this wonderfully surreal film---a proper English gentleman,in a three-piece suit, bowler hat and umbrella is suddenly, and unexpectedly, set upon by the residents, with violent intent,of a quaint English village.
@Meridos257 well yes but this is a movie based off a tv series also called "the avengers", america on the other hand has this cartoon version of super heroes and stuff
@Meridos257 Yes there is a group of super heros known as The Avengers too. But there also was a show called The Avengers as well back in the 60s. But instead of super heros they were secret agents working for the goverment in England. I don't know which came first. To me the secret agents known as The Avengers did, but thats me. lol.
I thought and still think the film was atrocious (though with some good odd bits here and there taken in isolation) but I'd still like to see the full edit that never made it to the cinemas.
I have this movie on DVD and I especially love the intro. A lot of people I've seen hate this movie and are quick to call it "the worst movie ever". I've seen LOTS of horrible movies and if it wasn't for MST3k I'd go mad! This is hardly on of them. People forget that most movies are just for entertainment. I look past the small imperfections and enjoy the rest of the film.
I thought this movie was pretty good too, but I was a little disapointed just like a lot of other people were. A lot of people hate this movie, because it wasn't nearly as good as the show was back in the 60s. They were expecting more out of it and the actors as well. It just didn't have that special something like what the show gave. The movie was good, but it can't come close like the show was and to the actors Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg who played the real John Steed and Mrs. Peel as well.
@SzFeriCCveszely what about the clone of thurman in the costume randomly jumping off the building and the camera cuts to the guys house without any mention of it?

I think the best element about the movie was Sean Connery's bad ass controling the weather

Tsk, tsk Voldemort, you don't have to get physical. Just use avada kedavra on these people and you won't have to fight them. ;)

@AlistairAI: Even though you couldn't see him. ;) But it was still nice to have him in there.

I like the cameo of Patrick Mcnee, Although I do think Eddie Izzard's character needed more lines than: "Oh Fuck!" and "AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH"

@fodsaks I think the "bee chase" was the only awkward scene. Besides that I just loved this movie. All the costumes the actors, everything about it.
