1. A "dirty snowball" would have melted completely.
2. The atmosphere of the sun is hotter than the sun's outer layer.
3. A comet's "tail" always points "away" from the sun.
There's a lot wrong with this picture, which current science can't explain. However, if viewed from the Plasma-Electric model, it all actually works out logically.
The Sun had no solar flares on 16th December 2011 and the 15th had only one flare. Comet Lovejoy survived because of the quietness of the Sun. The temperature must logically be cool because ice does not stay frozen when exposed to temperatures of millions of degrees for an hour. Lovejoy was 200meters across. What destroys comets usually is not the heat but is the radiation and coronal mass ejections of plasma and they are not necessarily hot. This comet has made history.
Wake the fuck up, you human shits are the problem, the masses of humanity is excessive and needs to be disposed of. We don't need 7 billion shits on this planet, we need 500 million by 2050. It is obvious we are overpopulated, and you fucks being naturally bad you do not have the right to live. It's time to eliminate and cull the Cancer, Man Kind. We will start by eliminating the physically/mentally disable, then move to take random selection to be killed off. This needs to be done.
The comet "lost" it's tail on the "approach" side of the solar pass, most likely the extreme heat and turbulance made it impossible to keep the tail. A few hours after the cloest approach, it started to reform.
Behind the Sun, lied awaiting a few travellers in their spacecraft, waiting for the comet to come. They knew about humans. They knew they were watching. They had been waiting this day for some time. They knew humans expected the comet to be destroyed by the Sun. So they had their own comet prepared, ready to be hurled around, to baffle the gullible humans. They tossed their own comet and, well, metaphorically, ran like hell, shooting through space and time in their vessel, laughing like maniacs.
How does a icy body survive millions of degrees from the sun? How does a small body get just outside the sun photosphere with out being pulled into the suns massive gravity field? Either astrophysists have comets-sun-and gravity all wrong or this isn't a comet at all.
@wiseyeffect It did lose 90% precent of its mass, but it just survived by going very fast. As for why it didn't get pulled in, it was really just very extreme example of an orbit, if it had been just a little closer it probably would've broken up or been sucked in like you said, but the trajectory wasn't near enough to sun. As a comet (a collection of rocks dust, frozen gases, etc, it just might be finished. Hard to tell at the moment how many of the lighter elements remain.
The 1 dislike comes from sun itself who obviously didn't like the fact that the comet escaped it :D

Another question: If a comet, why is the tail going the wrong direction on the other side? And why didn't we hear about this until now?

@Sebastia9101 not a thourogh explanation, the orbit is controlled by the sun's gravity, so yes it couldve been sucked in.
