  • the blue oyster cult was way before their time truly one of the most under appreciated bands ever

  • @Ragglefrazzle10 what movie r u talking about

  • Comment removed

  • Elric and BOC is epic x ................

  • Everytime i listen to this i picture a 40k librarian

  • If you care your a veteran of a thousand

  • Too intelligent for most rock fans. Timeless, eerie, EPIC and AWESOME!

  • Timeless song and very relevant to the current times.

  • BOC, was regularly filmed by my neighbor who grew up across the street from me. On July 4,1976 he showed some BOC films at a Biker party in a sand pit in northern MN, there were a thousand hits of blodder acid on graph paper at that party. I got 4 hits, I used one that night and a friend of mine convinced me we were in the ozone and could do anythng, trip. I was the last one to leave that night with a buddy, we caught the last ride out and went out and shot a pistol at some bottles, I hit all.

  • @northernmanmn Cool fucking story bro.

  • Awesome band :)

  • creepy songs, with all due respect to B.O.C., but this song creeps me out. makes me get the heeby-jeebys

  • @joesky43 - it's the well-executed keyboard that gives the creep factor. BTW I've never felt it too creepy (not like Beatles Revolution 9...hehe).

  • am i halucanating, or is the cover changing every 2 to 3 seconds?

  • @joesky43

thats the power of Blue oyster Cult, they can make a still image move haha

  • @joesky43 I see it too!

  • try not to get that drum beat stuck on your head. boc baby !

  • Is it me or is the cover art completely creepy?

  • The album this song is off of was mostly made for "Heavy Metal" the original. Funny part is this was one of the only songs NOT written for the movie and it's the only song that made it into said movie.

  • If you like BOC then you should check out the guy who wrote this song with them. Michael Moorecock. He created the concept of the multiverse in his "Eternal Champion" series. This song title can be found in the second novel of the series." Von Bek" a must read for any hardcore BOC fan.

  • @TheCattattoo not to mention the elric saga which is somewhat above epic.

shame i havent had my hands on any original books by MM

  • @TheCattattoo ahh yes, the dragon in the sword. moorecock is indeed the master

  • Excellent fucking song to get stoned to.

  • @bull068 Been there, done that!

  • this is my favorite band of all time , TOD DEN JUDEN my friends

  • @sickheadedfreak Agreed

  • Happy Veterans (of the psychic wars) Day 11-11-11

  • discovery to pot smokin this song,,

  • art you can hear let iut take you for a phycotic ride through hell and life

  • Both this and Cultasaurus Erectus are the bands best produced albums. Unfortunately the industry is all about pegging bands into categories (Metal, pop, punk, R&B, etc) but BOC is eclectic and doesnt easily fit into any one genre. Hence, they never got the airplay they deserved and didn't get as big as they should have.

  • When it was released I listened to this album from start to finish uncountable times. It is now part of my DNA.

    Awesome!

  • @smegweevil

when it was released i was watching it in the cinema, several times in 'Heavy metal'.later, i bought

a cassette.holly shit, absolutely best song in the movie!!

  • @jasmin66s My dad did that too, he bought the CD, played when I was younger over and over, it was awesome.

  • @Megadedly lol, I learned about this band from my father too.

  • This song will always remind me of Harry Canyon's story in Heavy Metal. The song fits so well with the animation with the whole movie in general

  • Just listened to Tarot's cover. Not near as creepy as this.

  • @tackyman2011 how is this creepy? it's more epic then creepy XD

  • @kkingcobra2155 Creepy in a GOOD way. That sort of impending doom thing. We all take different things from art.

  • ...wounds are all i'm made of

  • this song is soo creepy cause everyone can is one way or another compare it to their lives :o

  • allot

  • Great song, one of their best

  • Heavy Metal (1981)

  • @alexbeathaloreach :D That movie was awsome; I'll have to watch it again sometime and look for this song. The soundtrack for it was amazing. BoC, Journey, Cheap Trick, it's got it all.

  • @smartlamppost yea for sure! the animation was also amazing

  • \m/ Eric Bloom \m/

  • awesome

  • has anyone seen heavy metal???

  • @cornholio530 many times it's best with a buzz!!!! so burn one enjoy!!!!!

  • This song was written with Michael Moorcock. It is about Elric of Melnibone and is EPIC.

    Read his books, they RULE.

  • @Ryzzia76437 i agree with all but who the book is about. it's a line from the " dragon in the sword" novel by moorcock. it's still part of the cosmic champion series of books but takes place way in the future from elrics time.

and yes, the books do rule :)

  • I don't think most of you get it from the posts I've see, this is a battle that happens every day.

  • "All The Scars are On the Inside"

  • this is a Great song!! I feel like its a song about the future! for some reason.. I feel like its a anthem for a war that hasnt happend yet!

  • I am the veteran, Of a thousand psychic whores.

  • @Psychafunkadelic Yeah Yeah ... i know what it's like ....

  • wat does that upside down question mark symbol mean????

  • @TheMadman840 That symbol is the planetary symbol of Saturn.

  • @skeith25 thanks

  • @skeith25 It's also the symbol of lead, one of the heaviest metals :)

  • I really wish that radio stations will play other Blue Oyster Cult songs like this instead of Don't Fear The Reaper and Burning For You. Don't get me wrong, I love those songs and they are orgasmically amazing, but I wish they played other songs by these guys instead of just two.

  • @RenagadeSoldier22 One word: Amen. That's why I have satellite radio. The Deep Tracks channel will play stuff like this once in a while.

  • this song makes heavy metal the movie

  • These people - and the ones at your school - are being petty. Stick to your guns.

  • contest on whos younger? makes me feel old lol

  • Who fucking cares how old you are or how old you were when you started listening to the music.

  • @misterE2012 Exactly. Just listen and enjoy.

  • who fucking cares that you don't fucking care?

  • @MrStankonmyhanglow Is that some sort of attempt to be clever?

  • I guess it is if you think that lil' nubbin between your legs is a penis

  • Comment removed

  • @MrStankonmyhanglow man you are a regular Carlin.. Keep it up.

  • @misterE2012

People want to share their experiences. What's wrong with that?

  • @Dankbudz26 true

  • @Dankbudz26

    15 now, actually.

  • This song is so cool!

  • This song ROCKS!!!!!! Dont make music like that anymore ) ;

  • when rock shagged roll metal was fekin born

  • @judwak lol i instantly thought of megaman when you said that.

  • i used to have a headage now its gone, ITS A MIRACLE

  • @highspeedheadbanger No, it's more than a miracle..It's Blue Oyster Cult.

  • @lololasianz so its better than god

  • Right on... I was like 666, now I have to listen to iron maiden

  • this song made me tear up a little bit and i didnt even realize it till i felt it haflway down my face

  • This song is awesome. And the version from "Extraterrestrial Live" is absolutely sublime, a rock masterpiece. Go hear it if you haven't already.

  • @zellorz Extraterrestrial Live is the best freaking album ever

  • Awesome stuff.

  • Unbelievably under rated music.

  • cool robot war

  • 2 people are fembots

  • this music = highly addictive drug

  • 2 people are scientologists

  • @douchecock427

    BWAhahhahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahah!

    yep

  • @edslides1 go fuck yourself

  • @douchecock427 Spot on dude! Cheers!

  • @douchecock427 3 now.

  • @douchecock427 ahora son 4

  • Takes me back to my teens in the 80s!!!!

  • B.O.C. The tylers of the heavy metal lodge.

  • THIS IS REAL FUCKIN MUSIC . PERIOD!!!!

  • This songs about heroin addiction

  • @Monkybomb1 wrong! its about elric of melbone a character created by michael moorcock.

  • @doctorw2 Hehehehe, Moorcock...

  • @Monkybomb1 I dispute this--it's written by sci-fi author Michael Moorcock about one of his characters, meaning all of the sci-fi stuff is probably just that.

  • This song was used in the album and animated film Heavy Metal, during the beginning of the "Cabbie" story. The beginning of this song is very mysterious and ominous, almost "cult-like" (pun intended). It's a beautiful song. One of Blue Oysters best.

  • this is the first time i ever heard of the cult and im hooked

  • this aint metal... metal is rock n roll

  • Hell, it is so sci fi! the first thing to come intomy mind is an image of a human-like gigant warrior standing withhis armor on a rocky mountain against a dark red sky above sand dunes, eating a bird-like animal. Well, something like that ...

  • I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE THIS WAS NOT THE BEST SONG THEY EVER DID.

  • @ollieroks It's pretty damned close!

  • This is in the animated cult classic movie: Heavy Metal (1981). BOC is a good band but, I am a Kiss fan. Kiss opened for them in 1973, and two years later, they opened for Kiss.

  • Likelot

  • this song comes from another world

  • 1 disliked pop fan..

  • i listened to the song so much that they took the replay button away from me

  • ¡que tema!

  • This is one of those songs you have to listen to like 10 times in a row!

  • Oh My fucking god ... I love this

  • Great song.

  • On the look for real spiritual guidance?Figured out that most information out there is recycling the same words?mind reading powers, intuition, inner peace, it is all true.Enter THE-HIDDEN-SPIRITdotCOM and finally get what you've been looking for.

  • @JacquelineFoatny All the guidance one needs is in the Holy Bible. I've been a fan of Blue Oyster Cult and the Elric Saga since 1978, but I didn't experience true peace and happines until I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Give Him a chance and see what happens. If you're truly seeking the Lord, He will find YOU!

  • @TheWeeWhistler When you know the Truth life takes on a new meaning.Beware though of hypocrits and false teachers. He is The Way,The Light,The Truth.

  • @TheWeeWhistler god says I love u unconditionaly.

now here is a list of conditions u must follow or I'll fucking kill u.

  • @gwstarwalker It's unfortunate that you have not experienced God's love for us. It's equally unfortunate that your words may steer others away from the greatest life-changing spiritual experience of their lives; finally repenting and accepting salvation through Jesus Christ. He is the great I AM. Seek Him.

  • The entire album was to be the soundtrack to the movie. Who the hell decided Journey would be an improvement should be shot.

  • I almost feel sorry for the single person who doesn't like this...

  • This might not be the bands best song.. but it is probably their best performance as a band jeling together as one.

  • The eternal champion's misery is very nicely summed up in this song, yes indeed "All the scars are on the inside and I'm not sure that there's anything left of me".

  • THIS SONG IS GOD!!!!

(and even better with a good joint ;)

  • @tirotrojunior2 3rd Generation Veteran mang. I've seen shit you wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. The charge of the Shrial Knights on the Cishaurim. I've seen Elric slay the Goddess Xiombarg. Delirium of the Endless. Tandu probability drives failing, fleets vanishing, Episiarchs psionically denying entire solar systems from existence. But nothing matches the psychic horror of Vogon poetry.

  • @Wraythhmark your elric reference gives you credence, my friend... brothers of the dark blade

  • @ifurstupidenuf2fukme Stormbringer \m/

Elric is an X-rated mindfucked killing machine. Sephiroth. Wolverine. Conan. I don't care who you got. Bring your blades and get right with your gods.

    watch?v=5lKoSL49QL8

  • @tirotrojunior2 some good dutch delights (Y)

  • @Moerakski yesssssss!xDD

  • one of the most commendable groups ever thank u blu oyster cult

  • fantastic song from b.o.c

  • I always thought Blue Oyster Cult's best stuff was their weirdest. This is one of those.

  • Right twelve degrees.

  • Both the song and the album cover hyptonizes me. I set on full screen view, and as I gaze into the magical cultist's rite and the song soaks my brain, I'm taken through unknown paths of my own subconscious being. I can't even describe the experience when this is done after some shrooms.

  • If I was a psychic warrior I would make gaga's head explode like Scanners!!! LOL

  • If I was a psychic warrior I would make gaga's head explode like Scanners!!! LOL

  • the one person who disliked this can burn in hell while Satan devours his soul

  • When one plays a Blue Oyster Cult's track on RealPlayer , a review pops up saying the following and I'm quoting :

"Intellectual , smart-ass Metal made by critics . For proof that Blue Oyster Cult rules , listen to "Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll" . "Godzilla" , the Kronos logo , "Secret Treaties" , laser lights - what more does a wizard want from a band ? "

  • 14 and I'm rocking to this. All the kids at school will have never heard of Blue Oyster Cult, they're all obsessed with their mainstream bullshit. They're all like "You need a haircut" and I'm like, "You need to shut up". It's even become a school rule that boys can't have their hair past their ears, but if they think I'm cutting mine, they can park their asses on my middle digit. METAL FOR LIFE

  • @InsaneGamer921 Spray paint "Blue Oyster Cult rules" on your principal's car, man. Party like it's 1982.

  • @Wraythhmark

OH MY FUCKING GOD. That's the greatest idea I've ever heard.

  • @balomable

Listening to them since you were 9? Is that it? I was raised on this, listening to this, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Sabbath, Judas Priest since I was about 4.

  • @InsaneGamer921 Sorry but I have been busy with Death Metal!
