Not true. I have the high end 13 with 8 gigs of ram and an Intel SSD, and it plays this game well. Native resolution with 2x AA no problem. Not bad for integrated graphics.
I have the 2011 2.7GHz i7 13" MBP w/ 8gb Ram and an Intel SSD. Even without the SSD, it ran great on here on Steam with the Mac version. Runs slightly better on Windows, but I hate having to put windows on my mac. Just for info, if you get a 13 inch, buy 8 gigs of ram for 55 bucks from OWC and put it in. It ups the graphics memory to 512mb, which improves the graphics substantially.
hi im getting acer laptop 5560 g series specs:Amd quad core 1.5 ghz(with turbo 2.40) 8 gb DDR3 Hd radeon 6650m.Will this thing be able to run per say dunno games like starcraft 2 or 2005-2009 titles on max detailes(excecpt crysis and other games who consume lots of power) and future titles on medium to high? For processor i think its amd sabine A6-3400m dunno really all this stupid names they have at end i cant find the right model.but thats close as it gets with specs. So what you say=
You can play any Valve game on the highest settings. Well, that's my experience. I've got the 2.2 i7, 4GB of ram, High Res display and configured for the SSD cos' i didn't wanna add it myself. It also can play Battlefield Bad Company 2 on high settings smooth as silk, if you just lower the resolution slightly.
I am a top gamer on one well knows shooting game. I would never buy this for gaming. But I buy it for the looks, on my desk, the feel of the metal, much better than other brands, and the screen is good for pictures and internet (Youtube). I like the overall feeling of this laptop. But it is not fast and good at games, but it is possible on it when not demanding much and wanna play on the top ranks, like I do, need a gaming pc (windows) for that.
im hoping on playing games like call of duty and battlefield and team fortress and other hardcore games on this machine, would there be any lag or anything? currently i'm playing games on my dads imac and there is no lag whatsoever, how would it compare?
In a more detailed answer, the scrolling is too slippery, even when lowered in the settings. The clicks aren't that great too. For gaming, I use a cheap 7$ mouse found in a drugstore that works just fine and that I'm not afraid to break due to excessive clicking.
I just wanted to ask if the 13'' is capable of good enough gaming I mean I won't be able to buy the models with AMD graphic cards but i also don't want the old MB white. So I just wanted to ask is it possible to run the games or will be impossible to run them with the Intel sandy bridge?
I'm having a hard time trying to decide if I should just get a 13" dual-core i7 MacBook Pro and a windows computer for Battlefield 3 or a full on 2.3GHz quad-core i7 17" MacBook Pro and just instal Windows. I kinda wanted to play Battlefield maxed out though......
@iDiggMGL Macbook Pro corrodes. Trust me, I just bought one 5 weeks ago and its showing "pitting" around the keys because of gaming. Google up "pitting"; it's where the aluminum corrodes due to excessive exposure to skin(read:oils+sweat), which will happen if you game on it(anxiety increases and some level of constant exposure to sweat happens)... I turned from enthusiastic owner to disappointed with it. Plus, warranty doesnt cover pitting as its only cosmetic...
@ankitpasi1 I already have a MacBook Pro and have been gaming on it. I've yet to experience any problems. You think it might be that you sweat a little more than others? Maybe I haven't experienced this issue because I also clean my computer like crazy. I didn't pay $2,700 so it could look disgusting.
@iDiggMGL Guess what. I, too, didn't pay around $2500 for it too look "disgusting". You make it sound like it's my fault my macbook pro got pitted. Well, could I and should I, as a consumer, be expected to control my sweat(which is impossible) or clean the laptop after every use? Yea, I bet thats hard for your tiny brain to process, huh? Take your time. Fucking ignorant cunt.
@ankitpasi1 Geez, calm the fuck down. Just because you read an insult doesn't mean I meant it as an insult. I simply just asked the question if you sweat more than other? Fuck, it's not so out of the ordinary for one to sweat more than others, it happens. I also don't know if you clean your computer, you expressed no details, hence me being the one who has to pose reasons why your computer did what it did but mine doesn't. No need to be a dick about it, shit.
2. 17" MacBook Pro 17" (Intel HD Graphics 3000 348MB and AMD 6750 1GB)
I wamt to play Battlefield on the best settings possible but having a cutting edge video editing machine is #1. Even the 13" MacBook Pro has more power than my current computer, but not by much. I might go with the second option. Who wants to carry 2 machines?

How's the temperature? People have been saying that even when running non intensive applications they're fans are maxed out 'cause it's at 90 or so degrees C.
The quad core MBP's are not for gaming. They are very powerful laptops intended to do things usually reserved for high end desktops. All playing games do is test the VPU. A computer with a simple dual core and a good video card can play games just as well if not better. What makes the new MBP's different is that they can do it all. Fast. Without being tethered to a desk.
L4D2 is just an example of a really good port, not exactly a bench mark test. I run the game with the same settings on a 13" MacBook Air. Besides a 30 second bout of laggy-ness when the app first loads, it plays flawlessly. What would be interesting to see is you running some games via bootcamp (Dead Space 2, Bulletstorm, Black Ops, etc).
I'd be especially interested in seeing the new 13" integrated graphics put through a real test. People keep saying it's better, but I haven't seen proof.
@FleemingFleemer Left 4 Dead actually isn't scary, just simply addictive and fun to shoot shit out of the zombies... you'll realize that after like 5 minutes of gameplay.

@Broojo02 You said that macs allow you to smoothly adjust the screen brightness, in my pc laptop you can easily reduce the screen brightness to your liking if you don't want to reduce it in chunks. You just have to go into settings and modify it there. You also said that macs have backlit keyboards which makes macs makes look better, my windows laptop also has a backlit key board so whats your point. The trackpad makes a computer more portable but mouse easier to use.Macs look betr pc giv mo funct
@TheRatchetkid L4D zombies are aftermath of the "Green flu" pandemy. They're not walking dead (even when the army says that, "whiskey delta"), just infected of the virus that makes people go maaaad.
@zshobuz welll they look like zombies. and they're body is all rotten and shit. ur muscles turn to liquid if u look like that so there is no way u could run like that.
@TheRatchetkid why all games are diferent in Hl2 are slow L4d Stupid but Fast and in Dead Rising bouth Dum but some are Fast but stupid like the Gas Zombies
Soo... Apple laptops are becoming real gaming beasts? Where could I get a nice affordable non-mac laptop ( around 1200 ) that's very good for gaming? I want 15" + screen :)
@Unrated48 the answer to that would be yourself. Just get a regular cheap pc computer. Then, start buying your hardware, ram, graphics card, this should equal to like a thousand dollars. Google tutorials on how to replace the new hardwares you bought to the one your computer came with. And done. you know have a beast computer that can play almost anything.
@Unrated48 You can find much more powerful graphics in Windows laptops for much less than the Macbook, but the 6750 really is quite powerful in the grand scheme of things. This is especially as such when compared to the antiquated consoles and much more so than the previous Nvidia graphics (GT 330 IIRC). So realistically, it should, in all DirectX game related applications (on Windows of course), it should run anything twice as fast AT LEAST........but three times as fast is plausible.
@Superbustr There's more than $300 worth of extra little things that make up for it, like the OS and included software. Nothing beats iLife in it's product category or price point. OSX is just so nice to use, it's so smooth and well integrated and doesn't seem disjointed like Windows does from time to time. It's personal preference of course, but I enjoy it far more than Windows and don't regret paying what I did for my Mac when I could have gotten a more "powerful" PC.
@Superbustr Pretty much, macs work better I find, Ive never owned a mac, only tried out other peoples but it really does feel a lot better.
For instance when you increase or decrease the brightness of your screen on a regular laptop it does it in chunks while on the mac its veeery smooth. It also has nice quirks like backlit keyboards which can also be adjusted, an excellent (and I mean excellent) trackpad that has just the right traction and great clicking feel and a very smooth working OS.
Please try Starcraft 2, also, if this was Nazi zombies you would be dead by now lol. I always hate it when those zombies sneak up behind you when your not lookin.
@fishcomputer33 I'd like to see a new PC laptop that has the new Sandy Bridge i7 quad core, 1GB ATI 6750M GPU, and an LED screen for 909 dollars. Just try playing games in Windows; DirectX has superior performance to OpenGL and OpenCL.
the tank i hate him always tryin to kill me

brycelancer 11 months ago
@TheRatchetkid they arent zombies theyre infected, zombies = dead ppl back to life, infected = were alive now have disease

Soo... Apple laptops are becoming real gaming beasts? Where could I get a nice affordable non-mac laptop ( around 1200 ) that's very good for gaming? I want 15" + screen :)
Unrated48 1 year ago
@Unrated48 the answer to that would be yourself. Just get a regular cheap pc computer. Then, start buying your hardware, ram, graphics card, this should equal to like a thousand dollars. Google tutorials on how to replace the new hardwares you bought to the one your computer came with. And done. you know have a beast computer that can play almost anything.
jeehoondevil 1 year ago
@Unrated48 You can find much more powerful graphics in Windows laptops for much less than the Macbook, but the 6750 really is quite powerful in the grand scheme of things. This is especially as such when compared to the antiquated consoles and much more so than the previous Nvidia graphics (GT 330 IIRC). So realistically, it should, in all DirectX game related applications (on Windows of course), it should run anything twice as fast AT LEAST........but three times as fast is plausible.

waseem1173 1 year ago
how much did that cost because I got a sony vaio windows 7 laptop with
i7 2.93ghz processor 500gb hardrive and 16 inch screen for $1300 dollars my graphics card can play crysis on medium very well but it kinda sucks so...
Iv look at the macbooks and apples laptops and they are over priced by around $300
Superbustr 1 year ago
@Superbustr About 2,100 $, If you're looking for performance, go for a PC. If you're looking for the best built laptops and quality OS, go for a mac.
toocoolforu 1 year ago
@Superbustr There's more than $300 worth of extra little things that make up for it, like the OS and included software. Nothing beats iLife in it's product category or price point. OSX is just so nice to use, it's so smooth and well integrated and doesn't seem disjointed like Windows does from time to time. It's personal preference of course, but I enjoy it far more than Windows and don't regret paying what I did for my Mac when I could have gotten a more "powerful" PC.
TalesOfWar 1 year ago
@Superbustr Pretty much, macs work better I find, Ive never owned a mac, only tried out other peoples but it really does feel a lot better.
For instance when you increase or decrease the brightness of your screen on a regular laptop it does it in chunks while on the mac its veeery smooth. It also has nice quirks like backlit keyboards which can also be adjusted, an excellent (and I mean excellent) trackpad that has just the right traction and great clicking feel and a very smooth working OS.

I don't think Jonathan (sorry if I mis-spell!) is much a fan of bootcamp...
However, i've taken the liberty in suggested some Mac-based games he possibly could test. benchmark, simply thumbs up if you agree to get it seen.
- StarCraft 2. A must.
- World of Warcraft, you can get a trial @ the website i'm sure.
- More Source games (CSS, TF2, etc)
Of course these aren't needed, they seem to be the most popular requests, and you don't need to do any really you work hard as it is.
Thanks mate!
