@benroo89 What my father meant was that the beauty of bob dylan tracended his technical limitations (Vocal and musical) and if you want to make judgements on a hard working man stuck in a dead end job based on one sentance of dialogue that you have terribly misinterprated then you have to live with that but I would suggest you get down of your high horse and actually listen to the song you're commenting on. @stickyjam1 Just what musical limitations would you say that Bob Dylan has? Consider that he could write great songs faster than anyone. His vocal melodies are both intuitive and innovative. Have you ever tried to write a song? Forget great, pertinent lyrics that echo through time. Just try to write melody over some chords and see how far you get. Bob Dylan is one of the most talented musicians in history. His vocal limitations are irrelevant. His voice is honest and endearing.

Instead he said "Terrible but brilliant though not good in any real sense." Not only is it ridiculous but patent contradiction. "Not good in any real sense" cannot be easily misconstrued. Dylan is not good, he's great. He's right up there with the likes of Beethoven.

Bob Dylan and The Beatles are astoundly influencial to the "modern Music". They shouldn't be compared for so many reasons. First off Bob Dylan is one man and the Beatles are a band of people. The Beatles influenced the pop genre and Bob Dylan inspired pretty much every singer-songwriter since the 60's and is also a huge credit to modern anti-war groups. They should not be compared, they are both revolutionary
