  • you didnt win cuz you cant shoot for crap.. jk it was good

  • how did you feather the sides of the picture?

  • @cannedbeetssuck Do you mean how its darker around the edge of the frame? It's a vignette. Basically all I did in After Effects was make a black solid the size of the composition and use the mask tool to cut an ellipse out of the center it, and then feather the mask so that its a very soft edge.

  • This is sick! Awesome job!

  • @vsguitarist Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed!

  • I'd do 1000% more cuts. However, I believe this is the only video worth anyones time here. In facts, its great. Shot with a DSLR?

  • @mroofkaZ thank you very much sir! i totally agree about more shots, that was the original plan, but i ran out of time :( it was indeed shot with a DSLR, the Canon t2i (550d). mostly using the stock 18-55mm f3.5 lens, but some shots i borrowed a 10-20mm lens for wider shots. i only wish i had a f1.8 lens since there was such low lighting!

  • @joshthrbc I am right about to get a 550D and 50mm f1.8 lens just for for video shooting (-: Does it have the "jello" effect while shooting dynamically? And by the way, check out some of mine videos for metalcore band from Poland, Fireball: youtube com / watch?v=GgLwoTdXwYU - I think youre going to like the music. And hopefully the vids (-:

  • @joshthrbc Oh, and if you work on a Mac try converting the video to ProRes 4444 format. Works just as fast as standard DV, but its still HD and doesn't take up a ton of space.

  • @mroofkaZ nice vids man! the 550d is going to add a lot of quality to future projects! im not on mac though, but thanks for the tips. i think i am going to purchase Cineform Neoscene for converting soon, it uncompresses the video so you have better color (4:2:2 instead of 4:2:0, so its better for color correction and chroma keying) and its much faster to edit (codex isnt as complex as h.264). although i just got adobe cs5 and premiere handles the h.264 amazingly well!

  • I see a Lidenwood bookmark...you live near St Charles?

  • @Jcool85 yeah i live about 2 hours from there....

  • thank you for not making a video that involved people trying to be the band and looking awkward. nicely shot. did you use after effects?

  • @jklomes thanks man, that is exactly what i DIDNT want to do haha! and i did indeed use after effects cs4! it is awesome! thanks again for watching and commenting!

  • Hmm, HD I like, and yes HD editing can be a bitch. These were eally creative shot and I'm hoping to do Chroma Keying in the near future. I'm assuming you used AE, I've just started using AE instead of Effects Lab because its more powerful.

  • @Saber008 amen and amen :) yes it was a challenge editing in HD but mainly because of the h.264 codec the Canon t2i uses, i need to get a program by Cineform to convert the footage to a much less complex codec i recently found out to edit more easily. but yes i did indeed use AE, its a really great program, i recommend the Video Copilot basic training if you are just starting. they are really helpful, and free! thanks for watching!

  • i don't really like the clip in combination with the track... takes out some of the song's pace and flow... maybe it's because you didn't cut it on the music ... but enough... you really made a great effort shooting this, some really good camera skills and after effects... just add some more classic editing skills ;-)

other than that: kudos to you!

  • @Coastfog thanks man, i agree, it needs to have more cuts, to the beat...but unfortunately each shot took a while to make, therefore i didnt have enough time to make as many as i wanted, i had planned to have way more shots to cut too....but anywho, thanks again for watching and commenting!

  • Nice. awesome to see someone use green screen. Did you use after affects in this? what kind of lens were you using? you got a good depth of field.

  • @asianpersuasion thanks, yeah i used a lot of greenscreen! haha, i may even post some breakdowns of the shots in this...but anyways, yes i got some great DOF from the camera i was shooting with, the Canon t2i (550d). i was actually just using the stock lens it came with for this video (a 17-55mm or something like that) and i love the outcome! well anyways, thanks watching!

  • @asianpersuasion also, i was using after effects cs4.

  • :O This is AMAZING!
