As per usual (judging, at least, from this series of concerts), Delalande provides numerous contrasts of charming musical ideas: I would especially mention (and this constitutes for me the highlight of a superb collection) the transition between the ornamental lines of the second movement and the "sleepy" andante that follows; though, again, it is difficult to single out anything in particular, as each piece works best as part of the complete concerto.
Moreover, I find it absolutely wonderful that Delalande doesn't seem to be too preoccupied with the notion of writing for the King himself; thus, there is no truly overzealous movement, each one develops naturally: the fourth movement is, especially, proof of this: combining a lovely melody with a comical horn accompaniment.
This work is balanced very well. At the beginning I was thinking "it is a little too slow" then I saw the commentary "un peu lent" and suddenly the music changed in "doucement". Beautiful music and a well done video.
@PTDRdu13 merci pour cette opinion constructive qui manifeste un souci certain de faire avancer la discussion.
Personnellement, j'aime bien cette pièce nostalgique et en même temps solennelle voire grave.
