Jellyfish isn't that bad. Maybe the texture got to him... it's a bit like chewing on a slimey rubber band. But taste wise it's actually quite good. It has the after taste of an oyster.

When I had it, it tasted really salty! There was a chicken/jellyfish salad or something and I was only 9 when I had it. I tried to avoid those pieces as much as I could, but I knew that I had some because of the random saltiness.

it`s actually really good if prepared correctly .

i have mine as a salad mixed with different kinds of veggies and sauces .

it has a squishy texture and comes with a crunch .

it`s tasteless but takes the flavour of the sauce it`s in .

actually in singapore, we go to japanese restaurants to eat jellyfish. Plain they don't taste too good.. however, the japs chef usually marinate them in a sweet and sour sauce and it tastes awesome. "D

what on earth does the amount of time a thing has spent on earth have to do with whether you would eat it? millions of people eat seaweed every day - it's great and great for you. regardless, the point of eating things usually straightforward: you're hungry and it either tastes good and/or is good for you. sometimes the tasting good is acquired. think of all the delicacies we now cherish that were probably first eaten out of hunger: lobster, oysters, caviar, et cetera.

Well, surprisingly, the texture is very similar to Asian type fruit jellies, or seaweed-derived jellies.

The taste is rather nice actually. It is usually prepared with soy sauce, sesame oil and chillies.

I did not know you could eat a Jelly Fish. I do not know why you would want to. They're transparant and gooshy, I cannot imagine they have the most pleasing taste. Also, arent most species poisonous? How could you eat it? Non poisonous Jelly Fish? Or is it like the Puffer Fish?

yeah... that's understandable. in this case of jellyfish, just gotta make sure soy sauce is added, it brings out the flavor, otherwise, you'll taste the taste of the jellyfish itself, and it'll be a custom taste. enjoy, and try the next time you visit a Chinese restaurant, or anywhere that serves it. :)
