  • forgive me "in" Skyrim

  • The first dunmer I came across im Skyrim was Archmage Savos Aren I'll say no more.

  • Comment removed

  • 3:26 - 3:38 ....They did the same thing for Skyrim...

In the demo, dark elf voice was all raspy and gravely (as it should be)

Game comes out, they're all British...

  • @TheAlchemiist And not even real English, Americans trying to sound "British".

  • "Say your peace churl and be done"

  • THERE IS NO ESCAPE....

    (. Y. )

  • @Oceanrust4 If those are mandboobs, I hope there is.

  • Ordinator: YOU CANNOT ESCAPE THE REIGHTEOUSSSS.

  • I dont know what line is better, if "i underestimated the redguard" or "because of my chilling countence, of course"...

  • So sad that Skyrim doesn't have Jeff Baker for the Dunmer voice... :(

I wonder why they took him out. They had him in the gameplay demo (in Bleak Falls Barrow).

What happened in Skyrim is exactly what happened in Oblivion - they show off the great Dunmer voice in the demo, then take it out before release... WHY BETHESDA? :[

The Jeff Baker Dunmer voice fit perfectly with the look of the race and gave it a really unique feeling.

  • WATCH GRAN TORINO MOVIE AND YOU'LL HEAR DUNMERS VOICE

  • @TonyWRO I SEE YOUR CAPSLOCK GOT STUCK AFTER YOU WROTE TONY IN YOUR NICK. SHIT LUCK MAN!

  • ITS CLINT EASTWOOD!!!

  • 2:47 is like sweet music to my ears. Wish they'd bring back this voice to Skyrim.

  • Redguard REALLY hasn't aged well.

  • I don't ever click the like or dislike button on youtube videos. I like this video so much that it is the first (and maybe only ever?) youtube video I clicked "like" on. I will play Morrowind off and on for my entire life.

  • 3:35 (shocking music and gay british voice) omg that was amazing xD

  • Correct me if i am wrong but everything seems to sound different except for the elf and human races in Skyrim , all other races do have an different sounding voice !

  • that god someone made this video!!! i was unhappy with the Dunmer voices in oblivion too

  • @valtonwilson That god or some other god made this video? No, I'm not a god, but I did make the video. Also I don't think there is any other reason than what is ultimately just fear to believe in any ultimate supernatural being of which no proof exists but lots of evidence suggests that man is god creating mammal who has quite an imagination.

  • @DonnZ0r i ment thank god, thx for diluting my point fuckhead

  • @valtonwilson You got lawyered. Deal with it.

  • @valtonwilson

Wow, this DonnZ0r is fucking autistic to the max.

  • this was when the dunmer were the most baddas race in all of Nirn. except mudcrabs

  • "YOU N'WAH!"

Damn, I miss that voice! XD

  • Dunma Please

  • Did you peed a little? Hahaha. Great vid!

  • Dang, Oblivion Dunmers sounded so hot. <3

  • Hey donnZ0r Haskill is Jeff Baker, although he does sound like Wes, he's listed in the official credits for Shivering Isles. He's also MANY voices in Fallout 3 alone, but I wish he was in Skyrim again :(

  • Dumner armor

  • Dude old elder scrolls games suk

  • @iceman21ify Obvious Troll is Obvious.

  • is it just me or tho the oblivion dunmers faces, compared to skyrim and morrowind, just looking like humans with dark skins?

  • @Saroku12 More like happy potatoes

  • Love the Dunmer's male voice in Morrowind

  • 3:33 "a pleasure to speak with you" not for me it isnt

  • *Jeff Baker wears high ordinator armer with an ebony scimitar, and goes to whoever at Bethedatook the dark elf voices out*

    "You cannot escape the rightious!"

*Linda Kenyan, female darkelves, and female elves in Oblivion, puts on war paint, a war mask, puts her haier up, and gets her enchanted sword... Hopsefire*[Almalexia]

    *Both mutiliate the person*

  • Wake up!

  • favourite quote is the ordinator "we're watching you...sssssscum."

  • oh wow i just got up to the oblivion demo part... i could throw up just knowing that they had the dumner voice, but changed it to that elvish generic voice. And then again in the e3 demo of skyrim they had the old dunmerish voice again but chose to go with a british type voice

  • @kaino1990 I know right, that's fucking stupid. They should keep the raspy voice.

  • THERE IS NO ESCAPE (already dead on floor)

  • A shame Skyrim dunmers don't sound like that. I loved that voice in Morrowind... As a matter of fact, I think MY character sound sound like a woman, probably a bug.

  • @MagmaChinkasu Yeah, I feel that the dunmer hurt sounds are taken from woman voice actor.

  • @MagmaChinkasu skyrim dunmers sound more like morrowind dunmers than the oblivion dunmers do.

  • @Saroku12 Skyrim dunmers sound like aussies. Not as bad as in Oblivion, but still far from Jeff Baker.

  • @MagmaChinkasu No it's not a bug.Mine sounds like a little bitch as well.

  • @DonnZ0r is it the same voice from the e3 demo?

  • @masterfish1234 No it's not. They changed the voice to someone who sounds british and doesn't do the raspy voice.

  • Its confirmed, Skyrim Dunmer sound just like they do in oblivion :(. I want to know what idiot at Bethesda decided to change it from the demo again >:(

  • @masterfish1234 After having played Skyrim for past four hours they don't sound like in Oblivion, but they don't sound like they do in Morrowind either.

They sound rough but not raspy.

  • @DonnZ0r I admit, it kinda feels weird to hear Joshua Graham's (from New Vegas) voice coming from the dunmers (yeah, they're mostly voiced by Keith Szarabajka, one of my favorite voice actors) but it feels strangely fitting.

  • 3:34 YOU N'WAH!!!

  • bad news people, leaked gameplay of the same dungeon from E3 had Arvel speaking well spoken Smurf talk :(

  • @lankyman0990 My understanding is that some of the Dunmer men have the Morrowind-style voice, others don't.

  • @sslaxx ah! i keep forgetting that there are more than 1 voice actor/ress for each gender for each race (or something like that) really hope we have more grouchy and gravely voices than posh accents :)

  • @lankyman0990 Hopefully so. I've been hearing that some Dunmer have a Nordic-styled Morrowind-esque voice.

  • The Dunmer are a cursed people who survived in a rugged, harsh and unforgiving land. They shouldn't sound like a British narrator for a children's cartoon.

I am going to start with a Dunmer, but if I do and find that the voices are like Oblivion's, I am restarting with a Nord or an Orc, and forsaking this formerly amazing race for good.

  • @MrSaturnDOING Judging from the 20 minute footage video Dunmers do not sound like kids show narrator. They have their rugged voice back, not sure if Jeff Baker, the original voice actor, is doing any of it though.

  • @DonnZ0r It doesn't really sound anything like Jeff Baker. Raspy, but not comparable at all

  • Jeff Baker is coming back for Skyrim, you can hear Arvel the Swift's chainsmoker voice in the official BethBlog gameplay demos

  • 2:49 Umbra? :D

  • @DaewonsongRave Yup.

  • @DonnZ0r It looks better in Morrowind than Oblivion :o But, it's freaking powerful xD I love that sword

  • it wasn't a bad voice, but it wasn't that good either, got a bit annoying sometimes too.

I hope it changes slightly for skyrim

  • Let's hope Linda Kenyon also returns.Hate to have the female darkelves sound like the wood elves from morrowind.

  • jeff baker's male dunmer voice sends shivers right up my spine. he is probably my favorite voice actor, with jennifer hale and jon curry coming in very close behind.

  • It doesn't sound like Jeff Baker doing Arvel the Swift in the Skyrim video Bethesda released today, interestingly enough...

  • @sslaxx No it doesn't. It's huge improvement still over the Oblivion voice for them. At least he sounds like an dark elf.

  • @DonnZ0r It might also lend credence to the "more than one voice actor per race/gender" theory. I'd hope so anyway - that said, even one voice for all the male Dunmer in the game would be far better than one voice used for all the Altmer, Bosmer and Dunmer like Oblivion!

  • You n,wah!

  • The cheap service of Jeff Baker>The extremely expensive Sean Bean and whoever the hell voiced Uriel Septim the first 5 minutes of the game...

  • @Varyalover "Whoever the hell voiced Uriel Septim"!?? That was only Patrick Stewart... you know, the most badass starship captain to come into existence.

  • @Pwnzor729 Jeff Baker voicing the dunmer throughout the whole game>Patrick costing a bajillion dollars for the first 13 minutes of the game

  • @Varyalover While that may be true (in the case of TES, anyways) Bethesda is huge enough to hire whoever they want for voicework. It wouldn't be worth it for a smaller developer, but a Behemoth company would merit from spending a 'bajillion dollars' on a voice people would recognize.

  • oh, and by the way, Jeff Baker is in Skyrim ;) lol

  • Good news, old dunmer voice WILL be returning in skyrim. look up skyrim- dunmer.

  • @IhearaHunter117 Considering you are the 9001th person to say that, and the link to the footage in question has been as an link in the end of the video from since the audio from E3 presentation had leaked, I decided to add another annotation in the beginning to stop everyone trying to race eachother to be the millionth to say that already when it's common knowledge by now.

  • @DonnZ0r Haha, sorry, i didn't read the other comments.

  • @DonnZ0r I watched the E3 presentation and the Dunmer sounds NOWHERE near to Jeff Baker.

  • Well... I have an oppinion about this :D

You see, when he talks like that he got talk in an unnatural way... you can see the volume is quite lowwww...

In morrowind he used to say small lines, not more then 1 frase or 2...

In Oblivion he would have to talk a looootttt.

So I think its impossible to talk a loooottt and keep the same tone...

You can see on your fallout vid, the more he speaked the more his tone gone up and less "deep".

    Its just my oppinion ok?

Btw, I love the orc voice :D

  • There are dunmer screenshots, and i must say, they look a lot better :P maybe the voices have been fixed as well

  • in the skyrim gameplay video there was the thief who was tied up in the spider webs. His voice was very similar to the one you are talking about

    still i like argonians

  • Old dark elf voices are confirmed by Todd in one of the demos they talk to a dark elf theif and his voice is just like Jeffs voice acting... Unknown if he is the voice actor because they have over 70 voice actors where oblivion only had 12 voice actors

  • BTW the link at the end is too low in the frame; the play/volume/quality bar is in the way so cannot click the link

  • I don't care if it's Jeff Baker, as long as it's sounds sinister/fitting

  • Dunmer should NOT sound the same as High Elves - one thing that Bethesda learned from Oblivion ...hopefully

  • confirmed, jeff baker is in skyrim

  • @sparton1199 Links or it's not true.

  • @klous999 watch?v=pGRn4zBSoto this is leaked footage of the quakecon demo, the dunmer with the golden claw is jeff baker

  • I don't know if you guys know yet but Jeff baker appears as the Dunmer voice in Skyrim. He's the thief trapped in the giant spiders webbing :)

    Just thought I'd let y'all know :P

  • We're watching you... Scum!

  • Thanks for this one. I love Dunmer voice in Morrowind too.

And by the way, Jeff Baker IS Haskill- remember Dagoth ur's voice (performing by Baker too)? Quite similiar.

  • @ultraloret Yeah, at the time I made this I was confused about Jeff's and Wes's performances.

  • I thought the voices in morrowind was from all the ash in the air....just kidding.

  • Suosittelen siirtämään ton linkki annotation. Tän uuden youtube soittimen takia sitä ei voi klikata :P

  • I think the voice actor itself isn't bad. His voice just doesn't the Dunmer. Nor does it fit the Altmer. Bosmer, yeah, maybe, but I still prefer the Morrowind VAs for all of Mer.

  • Wow... Seems like EVERYTHING was better in Morrowind than Oblivion. All but graphics, even then I'm not a real fan of the graphic direction adopted in Oblivion... Just... Everything looks so much cooler here. Art, design, characters, armor, weapons, voice acting (Packman's voice acting was better than Oblivions...)

I feel really cheated now, not having played or seen anything of Morrowind before now. They really boned Oblivion, didn't they? Lets hope we see some of this Morrowind flare in Skyrim

  • @7CellarDoors That's what happens when you mainstream everything. Drop features to make it more mainstream and appeal to more people. Skyrim is moving away from being RPG and starting to be an action game. Unless hey get their shit together TES after Skyrim will be just an action game.

  • @DonnZ0r I dont mind them adding in Action aspects to smooth it over, but ONLY when complimenting its RPG foundation, or at least in conjunction with it. Things like better AI, Improved animations, and better combat are welcome if done correctly. But mainstreaming, and boycotting perfectly good ideas to appease the brainless masses of mainstream consumers (I hate to bring it up, but the kind of people who think CoD actually deserves its ridiculous praise) is unacceptable.

  • @7CellarDoors I pretty much mean the fact that they've been scrapping skill trees left and right and now they've scrapped whole character attributes to have you just increase your health, magica and stamina like that's all the attributes did (like increasing strength increased your inventory limit and made you deal more damage).

With all the skills scrapped it's more of an action game in fantasy world.

  • @DonnZ0r Agreed. However I will reserve judgement on Skyrims leveling system until Ive clocked a good 30 hours at least. Until then I will only say its a concern at best.

  • @DonnZ0r They droped the attributes because they didn't really do to much in the game that increasing your health stanima and magic can't do. Also a lot of the skills in previous elder scrolls weren't really needed. With the radiant story better made ruins and what not in my opinion add to the RPG, as it makes the game more imersive which is what RPG have always been doing. As for the combat its a lot more fluent than for say morrwind, or Daggerfall, which in most peoples opinions is better.

  • @russiafsuall 1) For example leveling your strength didn't do fuckall to your magic, health or stamina. It made you carry more loot and do more damage with your weapons. Luck did fuck all to your magic, health or stamina. It made you deal more damage in random events and uncover rare loot with higher chance. The attributes did a lot other than just raise your health, magic and fatigue. 2) They weren't needed because they scrapped them and didn't built the feature fully.

  • @russiafsuall 3) Radiant story is just a bullshit term to make you explore caves that have nothing in them because some quest leads there. All it does it makes the quests more unpredictable and adds to replay value.

    4) I don't think you've even played Daggerfall, nor have most people who have been allowed to preview the game. In daggerfall you swung your sword with your mouse. You held the attack button and swung your mouse left to do left swing, thrusted it forward and back to thrust.

  • @DonnZ0r Yeah I have played Daggerfall, and its my favorite game. A matter a fact I played all the elder scrolls games besides the travels series or what ever its called, and the first elder scrolls I played was morrowind and I've been playing it since I was about six. Also If you paid attention to the videos and previews you would know that radiant story does more than giving you random quests.

  • @DonnZ0r Oh in Skyrim the Raspy Dummer voice is back.

  • @DonnZ0r Bethesda also said that theres going to be a lot more armour variety in the game, more than in any previous elder scrolls game. The enviroment is greatly improved, along with the dungeons and what not. Caracter creation apperance wise is a lot better as it now includes facial hair, face paint, scars, and you can chose from I think 5 or 4 body typres so like pasty white boy to Conan. Main story line is defaintly atleast a lot longer than oblivion's( Which wasn't so great.).

  • @russiafsuall Plus, this radiant story was in Daggerfall already. Just about every damn quest in that game was kill x at dungeon y. Oh and by the way, it was pretty annoying feature.

  • @DonnZ0r No radiant story was made for Skyrim, but the basis of the quest part of radiant story is like the system in Daggerfall. As radiant story does more than just hey this person seems like he can give you a quest so you have to go to this dungeon and do this. Oh and by the way I like that feature in Daggerfall.

  • i just heard the dunmer voice in skyrim its like half morrowind and half oblivion i think its the paerfect balance :D

  • The Dunmer are gunna be the shit in Skyrim.Cant wait to use my Dunmer assassin. Ugh why cant it be november already dammit

  • Wow where did this TES Adventures Redguard come from? Can't believe I never heard of this game before.

  • @TheLostAtmosphere There are 5 Elder Scrolls games, Two Elder Scrolls adventure games, and 3 Travel games.

  • By Talos, PLEASE LET THE DUNMERS OF SKYRIM HAVE THIS VOICE AND NOT THE GAY ASS SHIT FROM OBLIVION!! Amen :)

  • GREAT NEWS! THE OLD DUNMER VOICE HAS BEEN CONFIRMED FOR SKYRIM! JUST LOOK UP "Skyrim- Dunmer."

    YAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • Oblivion really lowered the bar in the voice acting area... Two people to voice THREE RACES OF MER!????

I miss the dunmer voices from Morrowind... and I miss the bosmer voices too.

  • the dunmer's in TES 3 sound like ghouls from fallout

  • oblivion voices are fucking shit. morrowind ftw.

  • Mer is already plural. That's like saying "deers"...

  • Aaaah, I LOVE Dunmer, their voice is so.... hmmmmm, but the french version of Oblivion is so ugly -_-

  • An audio extract from Skyrim's been leaked....Raspy voices are back :D

  • @MrZogsify Had to check it out and so they indeed have. He didn't sound like Jeff Baker, but close enough to make me happy :)

  • @DonnZ0r Thing is, the Oblivion elf VA could do Dunmer voices if they asked him to. So I hope they did, he'd make a good addition to Jeff!

  • @sslaxx Sure, the point is the in Oblivion every elf sounded like Wood Elfs should - Annoying.

  • @DonnZ0r I reckon it is Jeff but with a slight shift in tone mixed in with the general crappiness of the audio.

I mean they obviously wanted a properly gravely voice for the Dunmer so can you imagine them getting anyone else in? There's just no substitute :)

  • @MrZogsify Must be. The line "You fool, why should I share the treasure with anyone" the anyone in particular sounds very much like Jeff's Dunmer voice. It's got to be him, but just with little bit less raspy voice in general.

  • @DonnZ0r More along the lines of Redguard, and the Oblivion E3 demo then.

  • gay ass fuckin intro and picture

  • @Username01728 Glad you like it.

  • to be honest i think dunmers looks cooler in oblivion, but the older voices are definetly better.

  • i saw the e3 13 minutes skyrim demo and it looks like dunmers have their voices back :D ( im not sure because i could barely hear something ) but when i saw a dark elf stuck in an spider web i swear i heard the old dunmer voice ( they said theres more voice actors for the races ) ( so.. both dunmer voices ? )

  • @bhrmaximo I wasn't listening that hard (mostly because as you should know watching this video, E3 voice lines are E3 voice lines), but it heard like the Oblivion dunmer. I wouldn't bet on it though.

  • @bhrmaximo I added link in the end where you can hear the audio without some guy talking over the dunmer thief and Todd Howard. The dunmer indeed has raspy voice. There's only one line that sounds exactly like Jeff Baker, the rest though, not sure. It sure sounds like he is back. Although, he did voice for the Oblivion E3 demo, and his voice wasn't in the final game.

  • lets hope this doesnt happen again

  • and thanks for the link

  • @DonnZ0r /watch?v=12kNWF6NV5I&feature=feedu here for the voice

  • @egliath I already had a link for that in the end, but I'll replace that with this one, as this takes you directly to the clip in question.

  • I had forgotten that Morrowind starts with someone asking for your name. That's a very smart move for an RPG I think, makes character creation more natural.

  • In morrowind dunmer were badass they had battle scars tattoos piercing and yea that voice but when I played oblivion and saw 1 I yelled wtf!!!!!!!r u

  • I think there is a chance that the original Dumner will be back. They change it in the final version of Oblivion due to disc space (so that all elf races could share some lines and comments, reducing disc space). Todd Howard said that those problem has long since remedied (since they have access to better compression techniques and blue-ray discs). He also mentioned hiring about 80 voice actors for Skyrim, so there's a good chance that Jeff Baker will be one of them.

  • @POLE7645 Yeah the size problem also made them get rid of the arenas in every town except IC. I'd like to hear your source. Where did you hear/read that?

  • @DonnZ0r It's from a PC Gamer (I think) interview with Todd Howard himself who confirmed that it was the reason.

It's certainly plausible. Three years later, Fallout 3 shipped out on one DVD (Oblivion had two and one was almost completely filled by the voice files) and they hired around 30 voice actors for that one (no one shares the same line unless they're unnamed characters). Imagine what they could do with a Blue-Ray disc another three years later.

  • @POLE7645 Oblivion came in one DVD. Unless you bought collectors edition like I did and got 2nd DVD with the making of video and stuff like that.

  • @DonnZ0r Maybe he was talking about the PC version :? Anyways, great vid. I'm so excited to play Skrim and I hope the raspy dark elves are back. I'll be okay if the cliff racers are still gone, though :)

  • @TysonCooley I was talking about PC version. I would never buy console game, especially when the game is moddable. He might have talked about the GOTY version, that might have come with more discs to include the DLCs and add-ons.

  • were watching you... scum!

  • they sound like tht in morrowind cuz of all tha damn ash they have to breathe in frm red mountain

  • @PhillyAssassinX Redguards dunmers were further away from red mountain, yet they sounded exactly the same. And there are no people today who speak like that even though they had lived next to a volcano their whole lives.

  • i emailed bethesda when i First saw the e3 demo. all they said was "with a new game we thought new actors would be in use." =/

  • The day they change the voice actors for races in elder scrolls is the day i quit playing elder scrolls

btw we all know Desmond was a dark elf before he was ghoulified

  • What a fool you are. I'm a god! How can you kill a god?.Dagoth Ur :D

  • @pawel1818 Come! Lay down your weapons. It's not too late for my mercy.

  • It was indeed a very good voice, Ordinators were very intimidating with that voice. "Let's not make this official, outlander. Move along".

The Dunmer female voice was also very good.

  • dun-dun-DUNNN!!!

  • All the dark elves sounded like they had throat cancer..

  • @bud389 And that's why we love em.

  • GODDAMN SMOOTHSKIN!

  • so much better. Skyrim probably will be bad without this awsoem voice =(

  • 3:37 lmao.. totally unexpected

  • I lol'd hard at the guy yelling "THERE IS NO ESCAPE!" before curling up and dying.

  • I love you for making this.

  • Damn i love that raspy, dunmer voice, it's so soothing. It was a huge disappointment when i realised the dunmer got a different voice actor in oblivion, and they didn't even looked like dunmers anymore..all that sinister and malevolent look was all gone, now they just look like grey..humans. I hope they bring back "dunmers" in skyrim.

Imagine a real dunmer, screaming dragonshouts with that raspy voice...ah what a bliss.

  • @Draugoul Judging from how the Orcs and Khajit look the races no longer look like a cat head slapped on a human body or a human with a different skin tone.

  • @Draugoul i don't want to be rude or something but...come on, it sounds like when a boy in puberty tries to sound tough...

  • @bububububak I have never heard a young boy sound like that, anyway it's just your opinion so whatever :)
