Perhaps you can offer, if possible, some names that please you. Or perhaps your own videos as a professional musician. Music is like soccer; many players involved, but very few stars.
Hendrix??? Give us a break!!! Obviouvlsy you have no general aspect of music if you compare a pop-rock guitar player (although he was an innovator to this kind of music and very loved by all of us) to classical music giants. It s not a fair comparison. And please don t use this rediculus argument that a classical guitar player like that does not give soul to his interpretation. OF COURSE HE DOES! In more ways and more detail than you can possibly imagine.
Let´s give the kid a break; he´s just starting out and he will certainly get better with age. The idea of guitar competitions is abominable; but they, unfortunately exist, as I and you do.
Ok. That´s a valid criticism. But does any musician (perhaps besides Glenn Gould, which, I think, we agreed upon), please you. Russell, Isbin, Fisk or Williams are not so bad as you make them out to be. And I will confess, my favorite Bach album is by Parkening. A heresy? Who cares.
That´s good. Gould and Parkening. As for guitarrists: How about Bream? Yepes? Segovia? Alírio Diaz? George Sakellariou? Tell me who you like, and I will tell you who you are. Thanks for the comments!
Dear Smith: I´m going to check them out, just to verify the "agogical" and "rhetorical", which you mention. That helps a lot to understand where the other person in coming from. Thank you.
É a melhor interpretação dessa sonata e olhe que conheço a versão do Barrueco. Garoto, Vc. está de parabéns. Fico feliz em ter descoberto teu nome e tua música no TUTUBO. Saudações cruzmaltinas do Rio!
2. No one really cares what you think... you try to critique some of the best guitarists of this century and then expect people to take your criticism seriously.

That was absolutely beautiful. The best playing I have ever seen or heard. Thankyou very much, sir. Could you one day post your interpretation of Villa-Lobos's Prelude No. 1?

I guess that we should not be surprised that the guitar is so well suited to Scarlatti.
Plus a beautiful performance which must be very difficult to play.

É bom para o Eduardo saber que ele já está sendo alvo de polêmicas. É a melhor constatação de que o músico está fazendo algo que incomoda!

Dear Peplicus, You are asking for the truth to have
credentials.Either you recognize it as the truth
or no matter how it is dressed you will refuse it.
Would what I said make any difference if I had
played Buckingham palace every day? These stars
have devoted themselves to athleticism in lieu
of art.I don't care if they have one thousand
servants a day.Their playing will never touch
a Sabicas,Hendrix,or Robert Johnson...because it
doesn't include the soul.

Dear Peplicus,I am giving Eduardo a BREAK.I am telling
him honestly and caringly that he has created a serious problem in his playing. His physical technique
is 100xs ahead of his interpretive technique.
I may be one of the few professional musicians
who tells him in unmistakeable terms...to not be
another Russell,Isbin,Fisk,or Williams who just
play athletic notes and ask us to be amused.

The Parkening album is somewhat conservative for me...
but I definitely like it.Chris communicated more in
The Sheep May Safely Graze, than all these others
in their entire careers.I am not saying this to
patronize you.

On You tube.I love Pierro's Sor etude.I love
Tampalini's Giuliani.I love Cambry's Chopin
Etude #1.I love Montoya's Tientos gitanos.
I love Horowitz's Scarlatti,Chopin or anything.
Does that help?

A beautiful technical achievement. If there is
something else in it other than that,it sure
isn't clear. This is the kind of Scarlatti playing
that Les Clavecinistes of the 50's and 60's like
Kirkpatrick and Marlowe were advocating. That is
...Objective,non-gestural,cerebral,and rhythmically
terse.
Scarlatti this pedantic sure does'nt warm
my cockle shells.
