  • I know there is a group setup on Yahoo dedicated to Bedini SSG Motor,

Why not someone here create a group setup for simple and easy instruction on this Kromrey Converter?

  • The intention is that once I have the plans finalised, the plans themselves will be Part 1. Those who purchase the plans will have access to a Kromrey support forum where I will post all my build photo's and provide support to those building according to my plans.

The plans are delayed because this is an on-gong project and I have recently made some changes that will make the construction easier for others.

    Regards

    Dave

  • NICE !! Can you Please help me! how many turns of wire? and the thickness of wire? is it wound clockwise anti clockwise etc.? Thank you!

  • 136 turns

    trifilar 22swg.

Direction of wind does not matter as long as you are consistent and understand why the direction and subsequent polarity of the armature. Learn you right hand rule for coils, it is VERY useful and hasn't been wrong yet.

    Hope that helps.

  • BARIUM FERRITE MAGNETS

    =======================

John Bedini specified that Barium Ferrite magnets were used on the original Kromrey units he built.

This replication uses 100% barium ferrite magnets which Richard can supply via his web site at w w w . courtiestown..co..uk

  • Hi, does anyone here know where I can get my hands on some barium ferrite magnets? All I can find are strontium ferrite magnets.

Even though I've never seen one work up close, this machine does appear to exhibit electrical effects that should be studied by a lot more people. If only more people would build these.

  • Great jobDave! - As an old shop wood tchr I am trying to teach kids new things and they asked me.... What IF you took 1"x1" Neo's and stacked them instead of the ceramic magnets, would it produce more voltage IF you used 18 AWG wire? -- What do you think? I know it is not a true replication if my students try this. Give me your opinion before I let my students try this if you would. Thank you.

Ole shop teacher (38+ yrs now)

  • Thank you.

The magnets used are specifically Barium Ferrite, and according to John Bedini give more output than normal ceramics. If this was a normal generator then Neo's would increase the output, but this is a ferromagnetic generator and it's operation is different to that of a normal generator.

Reducing the size of wire (higher awg number) and filling the same amount of bobbin space will mean more turns and therefore higher voltage.

    Hope that helps.

  • Where does one get barium ferrite magnets? I looked all over, and all I can find are strontium ferrite magnets. Anyway, good job. I hope more people start building these.

  • Dave have you thought about producing these as kits? I sure would love to get one!~!!!!!!!~!!!!!

  • Yes I have and no I won't.

    This was a commissioned build.

The plans will be available or I will accept other commissions.

  • Outsanding job Dave! I can hardly wait for you to fire it up :D regards - Luther

  • Hi Luther,

As you know, I have tried it with substitute pole pieces until the others are cast.

It does speed up when shorted and does reduce the input current draw significantly as well.

  • Dave, great quality !!
