  • wats the song playing in the background. it sounds good!

  • @dreamHIGH94 after 4:20

  • Hi There, I just discovered your page and you are quite awesome and beautiful! I cut my hair short in September 2010, but I was still relaxing. In April of this year, I stopped relaxing...I had to answer the call to go natural. I wore the short due for a bit, but I needed a softer look, so I went for individuals while my hair gets some length. Any opinions or ideas about using individuals to grow hair length? I get the entire head changed about every two months, with touch ups every month.

  • How can I start my own youtube channel to start my hair regain ments? And how can I go natural please

  • Ummm.... Did you say Blue Magic??????. Ok. tell me what you really said because I know you did not say Blue Magic.

  • @lavadava69 I know...yikes!

  • @lavadava69 buuut her hair is LONG soo...

  • You give me hope for my hair... it's been two years since I've been natural (on halloween)... I kept thinking something was wrong with my hair. Now I realize the texture of my hair is just that. It's just frizzy and kinky and thats how its supposed to be! I can't change it. And the more I look at your hair, the more I notice we have almost the same texture! So I'm gonna keep hope alive and keep taking good care of my hair!! Thanks for being an inspiration AE!

  • I love your eyebrows, your very beautiful

  • does it matter which aloe vera juice you use on your hair? Just wondering cause if so, i bought the wrong one. I just saw aloe vera juce and picked it up and bought it...it ain't even whole leaf. A big ole bottle at that! SMH!

  • @natroneatro Ive used the lily of the valley brand, and I think I know the kind in the big jug that your talking about. I think that isn't pure. So I just get the 100%

  • I love your hair & the wigs,I'm considering buy at least one wig, where do you keep your wigs? Do you have wig heads?

  • @pennytricia1 The wig that I wear I keep on a styrofoam head, and I have them in labels bags for storage

  • Not checking for the "ph" woe shots fired

  • @prettypuffprincess you caught that too??? thought i was trippin' for a second...quite interesting

  • @kaira504 not trying to start but it was just a observation

  • AE, your hair is looking great - so healthy. Good job!

Sidenote: I love how you do what works for you and your hair!!!!

  • Don't you just love regimens that are simple and sweet and show results? Your hair looks wonderful!

  • @classicbeautyn Thank you

  • Thank you for always keeping it real. Testing for pH, LOL, who has the time and is it really necessary?

  • Hi, AE! How do you handle shedding? Thanks!

  • LOL @ "im not testing for the pH" girl you kill...

also i like how folks are going back to hairgrease..i might have to try some of my old school hair food! :-)

  • I think it's very important that naturals truly understand that taking care of your hair underneath is the most important thing. Thanks for saying that!

  • Do you ever straighten your hair?

  • @tmoni0509 No not at all , at this time

  • Great point, as usual mama! This was a great kick in the pants to moisturize more.

  • I love how you keep it real. Reading your comments I notice how you have such nice haters. Wow. Wheredotheydothatat? Lol.

Love your videos girl. Cause When I fell in love with me, there approval mattered least, then my self worth increased. Keep telling yourself! Beautiful you!

  • @blkdiadem Yea they always give insults in a sugar and spice kinda way . *shoulder shrugs* lol. Thanks for watching and I love that quote :O)

  • No ph testing LOL....

  • Nice! Every other day a co wash! I wish I had that time. Do you get much shrinkage?

  • @Rasheetajoy I get some shrinkage, but I would find it hard to say what percentage of shrinkage I get because its in braids

  • YOU HAVE beautiful, beautiful hair..how does that look when you take it down..would love to see.

  • 1-"I'm not checking pH" *pause for emphasis* lol! 2- blue magic products tend to have petrolatum in them. Does that Argan oil version have petrolatum in it? 3- your braids look plump and yummy. 4-Rock on!

  • @ladyiola LOL, OH YES blue magic has petroleum and mineral oil in them. Even their organics line has some of the same ingredients as the ole school, but with added natural ingredients.

  • Beautiful plumb plaits, I'll b at that length next year.

  • @TheUrbanTreasure Happy growing , Im at a point where I don't know what I want to do with my hair

  • Your hair looks great! Question: I did a dusting about a week ago and my ends are sooo dry. They're always dry compared to the rest of my hair. Is that more hair that needs to be trimmed? Any tips for the dry, brittle ends?

  • @ajewel630 i have the same problem too. i clip mine.

  • "I don't check the PH balance" *smirks* I love your vids + they are very consistent

  • Love her personality innu! lol

  • You're hilarious - those faces in the beginning and the exhale...brought the much needed lols!

  • I so love how real you are. Thanks for sharing and always staying true to YOU.

  • Hey, can I use a puff as a protective style. I prefer to wear my natural hair out without having to retwist every night. For the last week I brushed up an old twist out into a puff and rocking it every since. I wear a satin bonnet at night and add oil to my edges and hair daily. Do u think I should utilize a moisturizer throughout my hair verses just the edges and outside of my puff?

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks for all of your wisdom. It's getting cold where I live in the SE and I'm experiencing lots of dryness no matter how much I moisturize. I've been wondering if I should wet my hair down and cowash every couple of days because that's about how long the moisture last before it starts feeling crazy again. I'm gonna try and perhaps I can retain some length this way. I've been natural a year and a half and I probably have 5" of hair. I cut some due to dry ends but I'm sure it is mostly breakage.

  • Do you occasionally shampoo so you don't get buildup from the blue magic?

  • @4190james I typically shampoo once a week

  • Thanks for the update on your hair.

I have a question for you. I am having problems growing the crown of my hair. Is there something that I can do to get my crown to grow?

  • @onedollardiva I used to have that problem! I oil mine every night :)

  • ohhh i needed this!

  • Soooo good to see your natural hair again. Your points about wigs as an option are good ones--but it was so refreshing however, to see your beautiful hair again.

  • Thanks for the Aloa Vera Juice tip. I have some in my fridge I was supposed to drink but I haven't and won't so I'll use it for my hair.

  • Your hair is fabulous...

  • I love your hair

  • I was wondering if you had any opinions on the henna treatments you could share?

  • WIgs helps me retain more moisture. My hair doesn't get dry when its under a wig cap during the winter but it gets dry when its twisted and pinned up but out with nothing covering it.

  • Your skin is so friggin beautiful!

  • I would love to see ur hair flat ironed! I love ur hair!

  • I Love it AE NATURAL HAIR IS THE BOMB it's VERSATILE...that's what ppl don't get !

  • I am glad that you stated that you co wash your hair every other day because I felt like I co washed my hair too much like is that even possible? is it damaging to co wash your hair like that? And i use the blue magic leave in conditioners too even though they are not all natural they work for me I appreciate a natural who doesn't make it seem like you have to use all natural products to care for your hair

  • So clearly im not mosturizing my hair enough. Im going to try your conditioner first method. Thanks for the tip.

  • I love it! :)

Make me want to go natural every time...

  • @WeirdGirlParadigm lol, Am I wearing you down lol. Gotcha considering it ;O)

  • how do you work with your problem area? The back part where you receive the most breakage? I try to put a barrier on my front edges which is my "problem area" when I'm wearing winter hats but I seem to get some sort of friction/breakage no matter what and it's making me mad. Please do a vid. THX

  • You've spoiled us....I thought you were about to say bye without our hug lol. You started it lol.

  • @LuBellaCoils lol, Well never say never but You know I love you :O) Hug or no hug

  • i thought i saw you driving in oakland near 7th street downtown by the salvation army about 3 weeks ago :)

  • @infidelity143 ummmm maybe, but I cant think of why I would've been down there. Was I driving alone?

  • ur makeup looks hella good

  • I big chopped last month and I was wondering how often I can co wash without causing damage. I am loving how easy it is for me to just wash my hair in the shower but I don't wanna get carried away and damage my hair. Your hair is beautiful as always AE.

  • 4A/4B hair over here. I want to go natrual so I was wondering what would 10 months of new growth be like?

  • your hair is just.... yummy! beautiful!

  • I wondered what you did to keep it moist under the wigs. Your hair always looks hydrated & has great shine! :)

  • Love love the hair...thanks for the update!

  • I love your braids girl. Long, shiny, healthy, and your regimen is no fuss. I LOVE it!

  • one thing i love about you is that you do what you feel is best for your hair you don't read all these books and blah blah on what you need for your hair when its on your head thanks for keeping it real all the time :)

  • Hi, AE! Now I'm about 60% sure you posted a video showing how you wash your hair...did you?!? LOL. If you did, can you remind me of the title? (or anyone who can help...haha!)

  • Beautiful.

  • Hi, great and informative vid as always. When u co-wash, do u always follow-up with a deep conditioner? Thanks

  • Your hair does look great girl!

  • @AFRICANEXPORT can you tell me where you got the devine shine from?

  • @thesupasweet i did not know this was your channel lol but i simply asked a question ok i love her natural hair and i myself where mines natural and flat ironed and wigs and weaves i just wanted to se how she would maintain it i mean why are you answering for her and being defensive o_O

  • Do u keep the aloe Vera juice at room temp or refrigerated?

  • @wylekka REFRIGERATED

  • im not sure if you mentioned this, but can we ger a length check? I would love to see your progress!

  • @shaunesethenatural I HAVE PICTURES ON MY FACEBOOK FAN PAGE :O)

  • Yerbe Tea review vid s'il vous plait avec cherries on top!

  • @tashnik it takes a bit more rinsing, but the shampoo will rinse completely out of the braids. It's the same principle for someone who has locs,.

  • AE-that Kyah Alexandria is the business. I bought that line after your review a while back and I love, love, love the curly pudding on top of her leave in conditioner. Top it off with the Devine shine as I undo twists. Your hair looks healthy and amazing. Good explanation on the wigs and being protective. I wished u lived in Houston, because I would take u wig shopping with me.

  • Can u show us your hair flat ironed pleaseeeeee

  • Hi.

  • When you flat twist your hair how do you maintain the tight coils throughout the days until your next wash?

  • Looks very soft and moisturized. I don't see anything wrong with wearing wigs and things, just take care of your hair under them. Simple. As you said, it should be a choice NOT a must to wear them.

  • have u ever relaxed yr hair?if so did u do the big chop, to transition back to natural

  • @babysl25 I WAS RELAXED IN JUNIOR HIGH AND HIGHSCHOOL AND I BIG CHOPPED WHEN I WAS 16

  • ewwwww, givin u serious stank face! do u even know what a pimple is? i'm hating on u & your fab skin right now! maybe i need to drink more wata, i can't take it, i need a remedy! rant over...... have a nice day!

  • you're gorgeous! :] new subbie

  • LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!

  • I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your videos! I'm a loc'd sistah but my daughters are both natural with beautiful 3b/4a hair. Can you do more natural STYLES for hair that is your length? My teenager looks to you and a few others on the YT for natural hair styling ideas!

Thanks for sharing and being YOU! :-)

  • Really Beautiful!

  • love how your braids come out AE

  • what are some tips to keeping my hair growing and healthy while I am wearing wigs? oh yea how can I prevent my hair line from receding?

  • I just think you are flawless...no homo..lol!

  • "helps close the cuticles....that's just??" What? Common Sense. <-------AE that's exactly how your facial expression kinda finished that line. Gurl you crack me up. I like how you just threw that bottle back there like, you can't be bothered. No disrespect to the person who wanted to know about the mixture but that was funny. Funny how we don't miss a thing huh? LOL.

  • I'm glad you emphasized that wigs in and of themselves is NOT a protective style, it's what you do to your hair underneath that is really protecting it. I tried to tell this to someone recently, who is natural but wears wigs over her hair that is just out, not plaited/twisted, she never moisturizes and never wears a wig cap. At the end of the night, she just snatches the wig off of her head, with the combs still attached to her scalp. She asked me why her hair isn't growing....

  • @lesgsu Damn well that isn't the way for growth. I KEEP my hair moisturized and with the lace wigs Im getting away with not having to use combs (i don't use them anyways). and cowashing REGULARLY and layering on moisturizers . I see that all the time. Women who allow wigs to make them lazy with their hair. Its making maintaining my hair easier, because Im not manipulating it, its tucked away, and always in plaits keeps it detangled and cowashing is a breeze. I think Im due for a trim though :O)

  • AE I have tried shampooing my hair in braids. However, I am wondering if you shampoo with the braids in do you think all the shampoo will rinse out? My theory is the braids are intertwined and the shampoo will get in between the braids and if you hair is not loose all the shampoo will not get out. I don't know I tried it a couple of times and I am just wondering

  • @tashnik its no different than wearing extension single braids, kinky twists or other plaits. Hair should be cleansed and conditioned regularly. Thorough rinsing is important. The only thing I don't worry too much about is some of the conditioner being left

  • AE, Coastal Scent, com is having a 50% off entire site wide!

U have a great head of hair,. This is your greens stamps for todat...TRACK...HUGS

  • Sigh. Why does African export want me to break in and heist these paintings? :-)

  • @Yaa13 lol... dont do that. I should keep an eye out for beautiful artwork and do a giveaway. Thanks for the idea .. cuz I love my painting :O) *hugs

  • I love the artwork in the background! I had nothing else to comment on as you know I am big fan and adore your hair, skin and beauty....Um juss sayin☺

  • @StormyHair lol, thanks chica. I need some more artwork :O)

  • HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN NATURAL?

  • @28ANDNATURAL 13 YEARS TOTAL AND 5 OF THOSE YEARS I WAS LOC'D

  • freakin' beautiful

  • @StraightUp615 Thank you

  • Great Video.......Off Topic What Nail Color are you Rocking, It's pretty :0)

  • @BuildableBeauty OPI Puerto Viarta Violetta

  • So you use the wigs as a protective style?

  • @TheMsTeeDubyaShow My plaits are the protective style and the wig is the look for the day .

  • *SMILING*

  • Hi, AfricanExport I have been watching your videos for a while they have been a big inspiration. I am only 1yr natural and my question for you is how can I achieve growth. My hair seems like the growth spurt has stopped Please help me. I am using coconut oil & on & off I use wild growth. Janice

  • Question for you - will Aloe Vera Gel and water have the same effect as the Aloe Vera juice?

  • @Qyuti3 IVE USED THAT SAME MIXTURE TOO. I don't see why not :O)

  • @AFRICANEXPORT Thanks! :o)

  • Do you cowash with the the braid in your hair or do you take them out?

  • @Stepfefee Braids in my hair

  • You look beautiful and so does the hair! Do you ever do your own hair in a braid out? Flat ironed? etc.. Or do you literally wear a wig out daily? Your skin is so pretty too.

  • @indibabs122275 I havent worn my hair out this fall at all.

  • you have such a gorgeous skin tone....keep up the good work hun!

  • its refreshing to see ya hair!! was kinda getin over the wigs...but ya love ya! x

  • Great hair vid and of course girl that hair of yours is doing fine like you say welcome to the realist channel on the YT no fluff love love love you thanks for all your help over the yrs.

  • @joynetlg *hugs* sis, thanks for watching and supporting the channel and me. I can only DO ME, and I appreciate those who accept that rather than want me to follow the "norm". Enjoy your week

  • girl those eyebrows are on point!

  • honestly I love ur natural hair more than ur wigs :D

  • @foofita7 I love ME more than anything I can accessorize with. Thanks for watching

  • Good morning! I have an issue and I was wondering if you could help me. I'm 3 months post, transitioning to natural, and the hair that's growing in is very rough and isn't like how my hair was when I never had a relaxer before. Did this happen to you, and do you know if my natural texture will come about?

  • Looking good hun. I so wish I could rock wigs with braids underneath but my head it too big and the best option has to be a flat as possible. I may try doing smaller braids soon.

  • Hi girl, Your hair looks very healthy and well taken care of. I have been natural for 8 years, but in the past 2 years I have just learned how to care for my hair. Please if you know of anything that would help my thinning edges to grow. My hair is growing well, its just my right side edge that's very thin! Thanks for being here,

    SouthernLady

  • loving it Queen.

  • Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing. Do you wear a wig cap and how do you protect your edges under the wigs?

    Thanks

  • @denelleyparker Yes I wear a wig cap, after co washing I always concentrate leave in on the ends and edges and I apply the sealant concentrated on those areas as well, keeping them soft and moisturized. Dryness is the devil lol..

  • Your face is so clear girl lol and i love your hair i do some of the same stuff i woulf love to se you with your hair like straight (flat iron) if thats possible :-)

  • @biishiimbomb Why? I'm just curious as to why people look at natural haired ladies with all of that gorgeous kinky, curly, coily texture to it and then ask to see it flat ironed.

AE, wears straight wigs at times, just recently she had on a blow-out type wig, so if you want to see what she looks like with straight hair you can check those videos out, instead of asking her to risk damaging her own hair by pressing it.

    Not hatin', just sayin'. :)

  • Girl, your hair grows like a weed. Those layers grew out a while ago! :o)

  • Great video AE, I love your realness, hair is looking gorgeous!

  • I know.....I thank you so much for mentioning the fact that wigs are not the protective style, but it is what you are doing to your own hair underneath that is the protective style..... you are sooo right!

  • I love your hair :) it's so beautiful

  • I miss seeing your hair. You do such great job taking care it. Thank you for the update because it is very inspirational and I learn a lot. God Bless you!

  • Great video! Is this a diff camera? reason i ask is its a bit blurry!

  • @SuperSexxiE SOMETHING WAS ON THE LENS :O)

  • Because of you I went out and picked up the Blue Magic Argan Oil.. and so far I like it... I used it when I installed my kinky twist... I'll see how it does for my hair when I remove the twists... Your hair still looking great!!!
