Disabling ANY of a ship's running gear has the potential to cause more harm than good. What good would come if the ship had been crippled, capsized and dumped all its fuel into the water? Seems like a lose-lose situation all around. It's just stupidity from all of them- I think that we can agree on.

@donto101 I don't think that suddenly hitting the throttle with the other vessel about to hit your port bow was a move of them trying to get out of the way. They didn't make a move to get out of the way- there was PLENTY of moves they could (and should) have made that would have saved their vessel. They did it for the drama that they live for.
