Ha, we had one of those magnetic ring levetators in electronics shcool. Never crank a variac all the way up and hit the switch. we put one of those rings through the roof.

Question if you're in the final frontier...why are you using a lego mind storms kit on the cover... e---e also... The reciprocating mechanism is more of an attempt at perpetual motion than space... As for the part where you say "All that plus a galaxy of other great projects" I didn't know a galaxy was just 10... Because that's what your cover says... There is NO how-to in volume 24 about making your own weather balloon space probe! There is one about making a regular weather balloon though. But don't be fooled. Nothing high tech :( I was really looking forward to make something cool like a space probe, but got a real letdown! You are warned!

It's your decision, but I think the purpose of Make is to inspire people, especially kids, not just to be a reference for how to do fun projects. Because you're right: you _can_ find this stuff on the internet. But you can't find something on the internet if you don't know what you're looking for; if you're just looking for ideas and inspiration.
