I really liked this video. I've just ordered a pair of hs50s today. I have a Z2300 2.1 speakers. Will the subwoofer do the job until i have money to buy a proper sub?
Maaan, you gave me a blast!! :D Just ordered the hs50m today, I might as just get a subwoofer, but in until I get the financial problems solved for that, i'm checking on the Sennheiser under 50 Hz. Must must get yourself in the entertaining business! Nice gift you gave your wife lol..
Hey if you want to improve your mixes get your monitors upright and on axis this will help keep you in the near field position. The Yamaha HS50 monitors are not designed to lay on there side Just a heads up you will move out of axis as you move closer and further away form your speakers Follow the equatorial triangle theory to give you the best sweet spot from your monitors. Thus better mixes.

nide vid man!! hey i have those same monitors and i have them connected form my mac to a yamaha audio gram 6 and every time i turn them on i could be itunes or running cubase ,they give me a hiss ,have experienced any problems like that??
@technicalerr0r I hope you know you can now use any hardware with Pro-tools. Also what's wrong with M-audio? The preamps in the pjmio do suck, but let's say the octanes in the standalones or the 2626? You ain't beating that in it's price range, that's for sure.
Also how are you getting your soundcard to get the outputs to xlr? are you using 1/4th to xlr cables or just using adapters? I might upgrade and buy some new cables to get the best sound, thanks once again
word man ?? ahh, yeah bro could you link me to the sites? I mean i'm guessing it has to be my cables or so, I doubt I would get two monitors with the same defect lol thanks for getting back to me so quick man!
How are you doing my dude? I just copped some Hs50ms, I'm coming from some real small monitors, so I really like these. I just hear some little hiss sound when I get real close, is this normal bro? When I disconnect the 1/4th most of it goes away completely. I have my comp connected to my sound card than my soundcard to my monitors. I hope you can help me out man, thanks peace!
@tinktwiceman Hey whats up..Mine are dead quiet..But some people have reported some low his check your cables.I am using XLR..Let me know i have a few sites you could check..
@RAYGproductions the hiss is from unbalanced cabels, u need to use a balenced out on yer soundcard and a high quality cabel with a gold plated kjack to the balanced in on the monitor, unbalenced cabel tends to ad noise
@tinktwiceman I had the same problem with a couple of monitors. Make sure that the cables you're using to plug the sound into them are BALANCED cables, i mean TRS cables. I'm almost sure that's your problem. I know you posted this question 4 months ago, but maybe you never sound a solution. Enjoy! :]
does the sound card make a big difference in the sound card you use with these
and will converting 1/4 to rca diminish the sound as 1/4 to 1/4 plugs?

you do realise pro tools m powered sucks?
technicalerr0r 1 year ago
@technicalerr0r I use le and m powered only difference is the Digidesign DV Toolkit.
RAYGproductions 1 year ago
not quite, you have the dependency on m audio hardware, which is limiting, furthermore who said anything about LE?
technicalerr0r 1 year ago
@technicalerr0r we use a ProFire 2626 and it all good But we are about to buy an hd system.

@technicalerr0r OMFG M powered is not LE is not better than M-powered. M powered is just a option for M-audio soundcard users.

@julemandn24
I know, you both completely missed my point. M powered AND LE suck balls.

I've been using dropbox for years, outstanding software.
if you want more storage, you can get a Pogo Plug which is much cheaper than the non=free dropbox account.
