I made this last night and it came out really good! I did use the regular soups (not the reduced sodium variety). I didn't salt the chicken at all but I did sprinkle some Lemon pepper and Accent on top of the dressing before I baked it. It was really very tasty. I will definitely make this again.
@softgeema07 Yes, you may use chicken nuggets. The flavors of onion, green pepper, and celery are in the herb-seasoned stuffing mix. You won't miss any of those flavors.
Ms. Betty how do stay so slim and in shape with all these delicious dishes? Do you work out? Eat small portions? Please don't tell me it's just natural. :/
Love your channel Betty, get recipes from here all the time! I'm a big fan of stuffing, so naturally I'm going to try this dish. Being the fan of stuffing that I am, I just want to know is there any effect if I choose to use more stuffing than you did? Like if I choose to use the entire bag or more if that fits in the baking dish? I know I'd need more broth but would I need to adjust any of the other ingredients to maintain flavor, etc.?
My mom would do this too...Almost the same way..But she would add brocholli and califlower under the dressing. It was always so yummy..Oh, and she made a lot of the dressing...She had to feed 6 of us...
Made this tonight, and everybody loved it! Even my picky son cleaned his plate. Thanks Betty! We had those white chocolate holiday cookies for dessert, yum!
Hi Betty I was going to mention your hair looks very nice in video. A friend has made something very much like this but adds 8 oz container of sour cream to the soups and then pours on the chicken. She has also topped with mashed potatos then the stuffing for an all in one meal. I love the dish. Btw you must have a great nail tech, your have gorgeous nails in all of your videos.
This casserole looks absolutely delicious! Comfort food at its best. This would make a great make ahead casserole to take to a potluck or give to someone who is on their own for the holidays.
Your hair looks beautiful Betty! Did you get it cut, or did you just style it a little differently? Anyway, thanks for the wonderful recipe. I really appreciate all the videos that you and Rick make. This looks absolutely delicious. I can't wait to try this recipe out. Thanks for sharing! ;)
@TheRealQuerida Thanks for your nice comment! I got my hair cut about a week ago, but it is the same cut as usual, by Donnie Lee Philpot of London, Kentucky. Thanks for the compliment!
That looks yummy Betty! There is no one else like you and I love your videos because of the instruction, humility and warmth of your presentation! Look forward to your Christmas recipes :)
Betty, I noticed that when you were pouring the soup mixture over the chicken the chicken had been cooked more than when you took it out of the frying pan. Did you put it in the oven to cook it more? Thanks.
@bekayezme No, I made two recipes at the same time, so I fried a second set of chicken tenderloins. I may have swapped them before I continued with the recipe. There was a casserole for this video and one that got frozen to save for the Christmas table.
@bekayezme I see what you were seeing and I think it was just the onion soup mix absorbing the oil from the chicken, making it look darker or more cooked.
@ji94552 This is a recipe that I have had for almost 40 years. It will be salty if you salt the chicken, use the full package of onion soup mix, and soups that have full sodium content. I would suggest that you not salt the chicken, use only a small amount (or omit) the onion soup mix, and used low-sodium soups for a delicious result that is definitely not too salty!
Would something like cream of mushroom taste fine instead of using cream of celery? Or is there another replacement for cream of celery that you can think of?
Nice. I've made something similar to that. It's so convenient.
Betty, will you be making macaroons by any chance for the holidays?
Have you heard of Florentine Cookies? They are so delicious and very gourmet looking. If you want my recipe for it, I'd be happy to share it with you!!
