this is so beautiful! willie's one of my most adored songwriters/singers since the early 70s. it will be hard the day he stops singing to me....willie, kris and jackson browne, three of the dwindling list of legends from the 60s and 70s era! browne hits it right when he says during his time the conqueror album interview "i look around for that sixty sound, but those days were gone"...how true! the best music, the best musicians (singers, songwriters, guitarists) came from the 60s and 70s.
@sleaponit21 I got to see Willie a few years back something I never thought I'd even get to do since he was pretty old already back then and now this summer I get to see him againf at a country fest we go to every year for my birthday...
well ill say this ever sence i was a young boy ive took i liking to whillie ,ive even gotten angry when people would say he cant sing! and almost in a rage id say ok let me here you, let me see you do what he has done.and after a few seconds of silence haha id say then shut the fuck up faggot! i am 36 now and and born long after my time.and willie will always be my favorite.with a few close behind!!!!
@RickinFLA07 I lost my daughter four years ago--this song has always made me think of her, but since her death, it just about kills me every time I hear it. It's a beautiful song though. I love Willie; Jordan, my daughter, did too.
@josmom9407 few people know that this song was written by Willie for his daughter - the seeing her going thru the pangs of becoming an adult without him around so much of the time. I wish you peace : )
Love this.
