jeanandbilly I feel exactly the same way!!! I used to like other singers and performers when I was younger but now it feels like I was just spoon fed a bunch of crap and I feel like I am just now discovering Heart for the first time, even though I liked them I never truly appreciated Ann and Nancy for the unique talents they are. Now that time has passed and Im able to compare them to other so called "artist" that are nothing more than glorified pole dancers.

I guess we could ask why Nancy's voice never got as powerful as Ann's? But that would be mean. Because I love them both. I just get so tired of people commenting on Anns weight. I thought she was beautiful in the seventies and I still think she is beautiful. I guess I got true love for Annie.
As a metalhead, I have always been impressed with these girls! Ladies are the only singers that can constantly rise up to match there recordings. I would rather here a girl sing high than a man!
Men can sing as high as any woman but have the ability to sing much lower and with more textures. Hence the fact that there are MANY more male singers than female, esp in rock.
I love Ann's voice as much as the next girl, but she's an anomoly and far from typical. And while I could only mention a handful of female singers that have impressed me, I can name countless male singers that are legend.
Personally at the age of 14, I really wish I could see that Live before it's gone forever.
Nevertheless, I think men generally sing lower, and can sing high.. but all in all I believe women are more "set" to sing high, and it just sounds better.. TO ME! (My own opinion)
I'm saying men can sing high AND low and women have a tigher range. You do notice that in popular music (or really any time) the male to female singing ratio is easily 10:1 or something...

Your comment is mindboggling! Do you have any clue about singing? There are tons of guys who can sing as high (or higher) than women yet can do all the other amazing things that women cannot.

LOL....well, I had a front row, center ticket....and as soon as I got up to move up to the stage with everyone else...I got shoved OUT of the way. You would have thought it my great seat, I would have been up against the railing....NOOO, I I had about a dozen people ram into me...
I had front row Craig's side and I barely made it to the rail. My wife didn't make it to the rail and I didn't see her till the end of the show. It was one wild time.

Exactly! My spelling ain't great either. These ladies rock and have such awesome songs. They were laying it down on American Idol till Fergie killed it. Both Ann and Nancy are just beautiful. Ann's voice is stronger and stronger. Nancy's guitar playing is so amaizing. Craig is just great. I am going to see them again in Irvine, Ca., can't wait!

and on the AI thing... i liked fergie... till she did barracuda... I was like "oh, my God, how she dares??!" I think she shows off more than she should on stage and, maybe without notticing it (I'm a bad speller too) did a lame copy of one of the best heart's songs!

I think this band is great with the exception of the lead guitarist. Take a look at other live performances over the years. He just doesn't seem to be able to perform like Fisher or Leese..kind of a downer.

I used to like other singers and performers when I was younger but now it feels like I was just spoon fed a bunch of crap and I feel like I am just now discovering Heart for the first time, even though I liked them I never truly appreciated Ann and Nancy for the unique talents they are. Now that time has passed and Im able to compare them to other so called "artist" that are nothing more than glorified pole dancers.

Men can sing as high as any woman but have the ability to sing much lower and with more textures. Hence the fact that there are MANY more male singers than female, esp in rock.
I love Ann's voice as much as the next girl, but she's an anomoly and far from typical. And while I could only mention a handful of female singers that have impressed me, I can name countless male singers that are legend.

Nevertheless, I think men generally sing lower, and can sing high.. but all in all I believe women are more "set" to sing high, and it just sounds better.. TO ME! (My own opinion)

I'm saying men can sing high AND low and women have a tigher range. You do notice that in popular music (or really any time) the male to female singing ratio is easily 10:1 or something...

LOL....well, I had a front row, center ticket....and as soon as I got up to move up to the stage with everyone else...I got shoved OUT of the way. You would have thought it my great seat, I would have been up against the railing....NOOO, I I had about a dozen people ram into me...
