  • This may be the best video on YouTube. THANK YOU!!

  • Approximating Kent, England...

  • Beautiful music. Wish they could play tracks from the Blue Jays album when they tour......imagine this one live

  • Schweet, very nice job, Ms. Retro Lisa! A great song also, I only really latched onto it last year, a gem I re-discovered on my Moody Blues Time Traveler box set, played it a lot for two weeks straight in my car commuting to work. Justin and John are definitely the core of the MB's, so I need to pick up this Blue Jays LP some day. Esp. since I was an honorary Blue Jay living in Kansas three times for 4.5 years, ha.

  • Really Beautiful Video- you did such a great job putting the pictures to the music!

  • Classic Love Song!

  • Thank you so much for posting this lovely song. I hadn't heard it since I lost the LP in one of my many moves about 20 years ago. It brings back bittersweet memories from the 1970s of my first real love.

  • pure class

  • beautiful song and scenery....

  • Thank you for posting this and for the thoughtful and artful video - love it all!

  • I had this album and played this over and over in the 70's and just heard it for the first time since then and WOW it still makes me smile the whole way through as it is one of my all time favorite songs!

  • It took me so long to find my 1st love... 40 years... but I did...Memories that live on today...

  • @spelron i got married for the first time just before my 40th birthday, she was my first love from 35yrs previous...i wish you all the best

  • I have an autographed copy of this 45.Just about the most 'valuable' and irreplaceable thing I own.The album is treasure beyond price.Cannot believe there are so many people out there who feel the same .Thanks.

  • its sooo much like y dream about wanting to run away and be free in ireland...i wonder if this is where the pictures are...its eerily similar...a past life memory? i remember a brown and white horse,a black one, maybe a white one...im starting to forget...there wa an ocean and rocks you could sit on at look out at the sea,a castle on a hill with a father,a village,2 handsome knights?,one i was to marry...

  • this video reminds me of dreams i once had...i was a noblwoman living with her father on an irish island in a castle on the hill,by the rocky shore...the young knight and his friend would go to her village sometimes and she made sure they had whathy needed and food and water...he never noticed her until she was 16...she was to marry him and return with him to his country...her father would not allow it so he had to take the long journey home without her...his horse was brown & white though.

  • This a great song, I listened to it a lot in my car commuting for about a week, really love it. After Sir Paul McCartney, my favorite musician is definitely Justin Hayward, vastly underrated. He deserves a Sir title also, such a gentleman. The MBs are a great group also, two best concerts I have seen in my life. Go see them while they are still at least a trio, ha.

  • beautiful video...I need to meet him one day on an early moning walk by a gardend in the south of france if i ever make it there...

  • i've been in love with justin's music since i was 12,it's odd to see this video and the one for what am i doing here...it's like seeing your past life dream in a movie...i was a noble woman from ireland, who lost her mom young and took care of the village, also her father in the castle on the hill. she sat on rocks by the seashore in love with a handsome brave knigh on his white horse, but he never noticed until she was older and on her rock one day brushin her golden hair and she turned to smile.

  • One, if not the most fantastic song that I have ever dreamed.

  • Nize that this song is still going very strong!

Nize video: "Se Nu Stiger Solen"!

I Dreamed that I will see her again .....In a Better World!

Ive had her in this one!

  • I have been listening to them for over 40 years. I never tire of them, and I have never heard a group that can match them.

  • @solly7 Me too, and I agree.

  • just beautiful ~ love your work:)

  • The strings alone lock onto me bigtime. This is great music.

  • oh, dear God, please let there be music like this again!!!!

  • Totally amazing song. How can you choose a favourite Justin Hayward/Moody Blues song? There are so many classics - this one has got to be up there with the best!

  • @Sunhillow1 This one is like the euphoric song, and the one after this one- (Who are you Now?), is the soulful, tear-inducing one. Not sure which song I like better. They both rank up there with the best of the Moodies' songs.

  • Retrolisa,

I was able to see the Moody Blues last Saturday night and I had hoped so much that they would play this song. Unfortunately they didn't but, given the amount of popular songs they have written, my odds were as good as winning the lottery. If they did happen to play it, I sure would have run out and bought that lottery ticket!

Overall, a really nice concert. I had to smile when Graeme Edge announced he had just turned 70! A 70 yr old rockstar; you sure don't see that everyday!

  • @kkarsen1 Hey, I was at the concert at the St Michele Winery in Woodinville.........were you there also?.I have been a Moody Blues fan for forty years...I Loved every second of it........I wish they would have played this and ''how is it we are here''.but no luck.............

  • Lisa....nothing short of a masterpiece....excellent...thank you. Most people spend a lifetime searching for 'enlightenment'....I got enlightened at 13 when I discovered the Moody Blues.....there is NO substitute! Un beso y un abrazo para ti. Carlos

  • very very nice, Lisa ! Thanks, a Moodys and Blue Jays lover.

  • Shytot Lisa !

  • This is a beautiful song and video. Very nice, thank you.

  • Very nicely done! I bought the album as soon as it was released & now have it on CD.

    Great job with the photos!!!!

  • wow what a fantastic video! You did a beautiful job :)

  • Very ,Very nice. Really enjoyed it,,,Thank You

  • A GREAT SONG

  • The Moody Blues require no argument. They've established their legitimacy through many years of tremendous work. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame doesn't make music. Its business is politics.

Remember this: The Wright Brothers first flew a powered aircraft in 1903. The Smithsonian Institution, whose Secretary Samuel Langley had failed at powered, manned flight, refused to recognize the Wrights as first -- until 1948.

The RRHF, like the Smithsonian makes itself foolish and irrelevant.

  • @408knw and the Wright Brothers also didn't make it into the R&R Hall of Fame!

[Sorry, I couldn't resist; truly, no harm intended]

You make an excellent point. When did those who choose who should be inducted decide that the criteria doesn't fit a band that has been making music since the 60's, sold millions of records; had many songs and albums reach the top 10 plus, have a song, "Nights In White Satin", included into the top 100 songs of the millennium? What more are they expected to do?

  • Eff the "Rock n'Roll HOF!" These guys deserve THEIR OWN PRIVATE HOF!

  • jeez gotta love it

  • I don't know what inspired me, but I just had an urge to search Youtube for 'Blue Jays' Being a life long Moodies fan probably has a lot to do with it and I think I'm suffering withdrawal symptons, having not heard any of their music for several weeks.

Cracking job with the video. Nice to hear that one again :)

  • i met justin hayward years ago and he signed my blue jays cd cover, ...great nite

  • You've done a wonderful job with this,thank you!

  • Wow - beautiful video!

    Great artistry!!!

  • This is really well done, bravo! :)

  • I had this song/album years ago and have heard this for the first time in I don't know in how many years.Brings tears to me being such a beautiful song, and so many of these old songs like the Beach Boys "Surf's Up" quadriphonic 4 channel encoding

    sounded fantastic.

The Moody Blues,YES,Rick Wakeman,Pink Floyd etc.are my favourites.

  • @we12x42 I have some 'quadrophonic' sound records the additional second pair of channels were modulated onto the upper frequencies of the first two and 'decoded' back into the audible spectrum using the player's circuitry.

  • @lizichell2 Yes, The Dynaco Quadaptor worked quite well taking the output of a stereo amp and it added two rear channels without another 2 amplifiers like the Sansui 4 channel receiver had.

  • Gorgeous. At first, after seeing it, I thought Justin had done it. It seems you have captured exactly what he was singing of in this song.

    Thank you so much!

  • Absolutely beautiful. Almost as if you visited my dreamland x

  • Beautiful work! Thanks for posting.

  • VERY WELL DONE...GOING INTO MY FAVORITES

  • What video may I ask? I love this video, but am wondering where you got the Hayward screen shots from???

  • Hmm lots of private memories of The Blue Jays and The Moody Blues

  • Comment removed

  • Simply fantastic!!! Exquisitely done!!!

  • Beautiful!

  • Six Stars! Five is not enough! Brilliant!

  • Love this song

  • Very pretty, love the song.

  • Great, great selection from a few decades back. What a shame we cannot turn time back.

  • What are these pictures from?

  • @wouldntyoulike2know These are pictures I made with Paint Shop Pro. They're a combination of screenshots from a Justin Hayward video and pictures I've found on the internet.

  • @retrolisa Wow, you do a great job. I thought these were actually from a music video of the song. :) Thanks very much for sharing your talent.

  • @wouldntyoulike2know ...c'mon...please.

  • @longestroadoutofeden No really! I really did think they were like screencaps or something. :)

  • @retrolisa absolutely fantastic job. flawless. thanks!

this song takes me back to the summer of 75 as i was about to begin college. i had an old 8-track of this album which i listened to all summer as well as my ensuing freshman year at college.

again: fantastic job and thanks for making this so enjoyable.

  • @retrolisa I bet Mr Hayward loves the video you made, so much joy listening this beautiful song and the video is a pluss !! thanks a lot for uploading! great work!

  • reminds me of the music BY Status QUO!!! the Horses!!!

  • So many wonderful memories from this album---thank you!

  • I heard this tune when it came out in the spring of '75.I was finishing my senior year of high school and waiting for the day I'd leave for the Marines. This song makes me think of a girl who sat two rows across from me in consumer finance classs. We met, fell in love and this october we'll celebrate thirty-two years of marriage. So many great memories, two wonderful, grown kids, and I Love her just as much if not more than the day we met..........Life has been good to me....

  • sweet memories from the seventies --a passionate love affair lasted 25 years two fantastic kds . three beautiful grandchildren . you broke it selfishly , I was stupid I admit that . you didn't realize what you have to do is tell the truth when you're found out. could have been so different .the moody blues was our music . so sad when I hear it now . Question the lyrics say it all

  • What a beautiful video for one of my favorite songs from the 70s!! I still have my LP! Thanks for posting!

  • OMG-How Beautiful! For all those longing for someone!

  • Beautiful.

  • Transported back to 1975. One of the best years ever, and Moodies for the soundtrack. Great memories....MAGIC!!

  • My dearest Lenochka... i awoke with your voice sweet in my ear, but you were nowhere to be seen, and nowhere so near. My heart felt the touch of my longing for you, so i wished a sweet wish, that in your heart, i am too. I cannot hold you, nor touch you, nor feel your soft hand. but in my heart's dream, this is, no matter how far the distant land. Now i return to my sleep, my darling, my heart is revealed, in hopes my dreams are of you and your heart no longer concealed.

  • fantabulous video !

  • I love these guys.

  • Wouldn't be nice to Quantum leap back to 1975...and know what you know now....

  • Good job .. Brought back memories of an old girl friend that I was going with... which I really loved and things just didn't worked out. I am happy for her that her life turned out well.

  • This song and 'Who Are You Now' are two of the best songs they ever did, even including the Moodies' songs, I think. I also love 'The King and Queen', and 'What are we doing here?'. All exquisitely deep, haunting songs.

  • tell me about it wildfire...like climbing in a time machine to the summer/fall of 75 and taking a look around...this song is pure magic

  • This song has haunted me for over 30 years, I finally found it..it was like finding treasure

  • Superb song, good break to the Blue Jays, loved the Moodys just as much, not sure which album of theirs I preferred, but "every Good Boy" comes close

  • heard roger day play this great track a couple of weeks ago on his terrific show on bbc in the south. saw these at hammersmith in 75 or 76...how can it be so long ago?....love this video as well.

  • I recall something Patrick Moraz said before he tried to sue the band "....they write simple songs with simple lyrics, but lyrics that work." He neglected to say Lyrics that are GORGEOUS. Justin Hayward could touch my heart quicker than any other songwriter out there. So, did he ever do a video for THE BEST IS YET TO COME...?

  • Littlebigbrain me too! Since I'm Leftfootlouie maybe we can one day find a complete alter ego on youtube.

  • Song is like glacial beauty.

  • Retrolisa,

Wonderful track. I love your video. Thanx from this 58 year old grandpa who's been a fan since '68. Bless you....

  • I've always loved this track since the day it was released.

  • Well done, retro! Nice match of pics and music....

  • Justin's voice is pure poetry on this lovely romantic track.

Adore your video to it's really haunting and evocative.

    Best wishes,

    Moodies fan,

    Tony.

  • I got this vinyl in 75 - blue guitar is my fav. Great hair both of them! Great songs.

  • great song and thanks for your video looks really good and does the song justice!

  • Why is it important that they get in the rock and roll hall of fame? The value of their music in our hearts is so much more relevant!

  • how true!

  • @whyutah Finally someone makes sense! it sickens me when people start that r&r hall of fame bullshit ,as if it takes induction into it, to validify a great bands career. Rock and roll was always about breaking rules and fighting established rules. What is more establishment than the hall of fame, really ! Good music will keep going without any hall of fame ! end of sermon!!

  • @whyutah In fact, why not make the Moodies the first inductees into the "Celestial Rock Hall of Fame?" , in other words, the rock groups God himself would induct?

makes sense to me....the RRHOF doesn't.

  • My favourite album of all time..never get tired of it.

  • I have this song about 25 years is no longer heard, he has lost none of its fascination.

  • great! one of my favourites! And finally I know, why this is my name :-)

  • Retrolisa, such a beautiful and majestic pictorial with Justin Hayward to one of the most beautiful songs in this world. Excellent job!

  • The Moodies were a great band before the hall of fame and will always be great with or without being a part of it. This is True music... love set to a soaring melody.

  • Baba-chew-baba;

I like much your word of phrasing, to describe what most know not how to put in terms of heart of the Moody blues music, and their way with loves way in words. I do live in and out unto expression of this poetic manner. sometimes, and always look out for able ones. LionKin007

  • these guys knew how to harmonise. Its just love at first hearing. lets all cry.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this.

I had the old LP album, and forgot about it until I started searching on YouTube.

Great posting of a great song.

  • Thank You

  • the rock and roll hall of shame is a fing joke they induct freaks like prince before bob seager well like i said l fu. joke

  • Comment removed

  • Arguably the best song of the album, which is ALWAYS in my playlist

  • what you do with the most special songs of my life is just wonderful. I was 17 when this album came out and played it nearly every night .

  • Beautiful job on this video! I love this song. Heck, I just plain love Blue Jays!!

  • Beautiful, thank you....we are going to see the Moody's in Boston on 8/25....front row....my wife and I had our first date to a Moody Blue's concert in Providence on 7/15/81....they will always mean so much to us.

    Joe in NH.

  • Outstanding! Thanks for posting this gem!

  • First time I've heard this song today, now can't stop playing/seeing it. It's just beautiful.

  • DUDE!!!!!

You know how to post one of the greatest songs ever!!!!!

One of my favorites! Great job!!!!!!

  • There are some songs that, when you hear them again years later, take you right back to the time and place you were when you heard them for first time. You even remember that special someone you were with. Hello Linda Robinson, wherever you are.

  • Ain't gay but I love Justin too :-)). There's a word for that - can't think of it at the moment. Then again, I love em all - Hayward, Lodge, Pinder, Thomas & Edge (the main doodz over the first dozen or so years).

Fall of 1964 they first hit the charts in U.S. with "Go Now" - fitting for the times and then ker flop til '67 when their real style broke out with Days of Future Passed. Wow!!

Have seen them live 3 times over 3 decades. Own most of their albums, most on vinyl :-))

  • I was totally in love with Justin when I was 15 and he was plyaing with All Things Bright. Sadly he regarded me as just a friend. This man broke my heart--all say AHH right now.

  • Nice post....

    Joe.

  • how bout supporting them into the rock and roll hall of fame!!! Why are these special artists excluded? Raise your voice and let them hear!! They need to be recognized today and inducted.

  • I wrote to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last week concerning The Moody Blues not being inducted. The Hall of Fame has absolutely no credibility as long as The Moody Blues are excluded.

    Joe.

  • It's mind-boggling that they are excluded from the Hall of Fame! The Moodies contributed so greatly to the music world!!

  • The 4 seasons ,beach boys duane eddy ,all sold 100 million records they are in the rock and roll hall of fame the moody blues sold 100 million records why arent they in [engleburt sold 100 million only kidding ] its because rolling stone is more into garbage like pornagraphy and rap[ read the current issue ] .

  • I did not know that. You are kidding me. They should be right at the top.

The Moody Blues are my all time favorite band.

They will be in the Hall of Fame or else the Hall of Fame means a lot less without them.

  • who gives 2 **cks about the Rock and Roll Hall of fame. The owners of the 100million albums are much better off without their support.

  • Who would like to support me to get The Moody Blues, i.c. Justin Hayward honoured by a NOBEL MUSIC PRIZE in 2009?? If support for my initiative is substantial, I'd like to spend quite some hours to realize that dream. I think they deserve such an honour because of their top class music for decades and more than one generation of countless people.

    Jan Goeijenbier (Rotterdam, Holland)

  • yes yes yes-how do we help?

  • how do you drown load this

  • Try WinMX,I have it from there

  • Beautiful song and a magnificent work!Bravo!

  • Awesome and timeless ballad. Beautifully presented. Thank You

  • over the top, but good

  • wow..if this doesnt move ya, ya don't have a pulse.

  • Jusfriend, I feel the same way you do about this song and the sense of loneliness of Justin. Geez, if only.. I have dreamed about being that "girl" for many years. Beautiful video and song. Thanks Lisa.

  • This video is so beautiful. But Justin looks so lonely, as if he was dreaming of someone who would come and love him. When I saw it, I felt myself wishing that I could be the girl who would find him and love him. I know it sounds strange, but that's how that video made me feel. I love Justin so, and I think I will always love him. Thanks, Lisa, for posting this.

    Love, Jusfriend

  • Back off, Jusfriend, I loved him since I was 16 and that was 30 years ago. How old are you?

(Just kidding, I'm happily married, but Justin is still *it* !)

  • Tell you what, XmteeX, we can both share him. How about that?

By the way, I'm a young 62. And I am DEEPLY in love with Justin.

    Love, Jusfriend

  • one word no sorry two, beautiful, fantastic

  • Great job as always. Looks awesome in the "high quality" option.

  • Great video 5* to a incredible song 5* that i put as a favourite...& for this song and video in a word --- stunning.

    Thanks , Danielle

  • love the cherry blossoms!

  • Loverly Lisa! good job as always!

  • Retrolisa - Thank you so much for this lovely pictorial tribute to a truly beautiful song by The Master of Melody - Mr. Justin Hayward.

  • Very nicely done. I've always liked this song.
