This song was used in an episode of "Miami Vice" entitled "Stone's War." The episode involved the coverup of murders perpetrated by foreign soldiers whom the USA was supporting. The same argument can very easily be applied to the Bush administration as seen in the video. The "shadow on the faces" line made me think of Cheney before I saw the video, and when I ended up seeing it I was amused. Excellent video.

We are however self-aware and able to say "I am", we are able to see the effects that we have on ourselves and those around us. This awareness should allow us to force ourselves to evolve. I was 15 when I bought this album; the US involvement with Nicaragua was at its peak and my country promoted wholesale murder in the name of capitalism.
When I heard this song I knew that one day a time would come when the men who perpetrated these crimes and all of the misdoings of the United States would have to answer to the world.

This song was originally released in 1986 and I believe it was directed at the war being waged at that time in Central America. In terms of its relevance in the last ten years, it seems pretty clear that the current war in Iraq was "sold to us" by politicians and "elite" neo-cons who "sold" it to the President.

This song was used in an episode of "Miami Vice" entitled "Stone's War." The episode involved the coverup of murders perpetrated by foreign soldiers whom the USA was supporting. The same argument can very easily be applied to the Bush administration as seen in the video. The "shadow on the faces" line made me think of Cheney before I saw the video, and when I ended up seeing it I was amused. Excellent video.
