The Rev was born with an enlarged heart, which the doctors said he wouldnt live past 30. The song Brompton Cocktail is a direct reference to what he did to kill himself. You see, the oxydrone and all the other drugs/alcohol served as his brompton cocktail. He didnt want to die a painful death. Fiction more or less served as his suicide note.
