Writing great songs is what make Kiss famous not Paul's guitar skills/technique. Seriously, SRV, Jimi, Van Halen, Page, whoever you consider talented at technique didn't get by on their solo's alone, they all wrote great songs. It's always the full band songs getting hits, never the "Eruption" or what have you. Why do you think Vai and Satriani never chart like the other guys? It's easier to remember and sing a hit song instead of make soloing noises and look like an idiot to the average person.

Writing great songs is what make Kiss famous not Paul's guitar skills/technique. Seriously, SRV, Jimi, Van Halen, Page, whoever you consider talented at technique didn't get by on their solo's alone, they all wrote great songs. It's always the full band songs getting hits, never the "Eruption" or what have you. Why do you think Vai and Satriani never chart like the other guys? It's easier to remember and sing a hit song instead of make soloing noises and look like an idiot to the average person.

I do not see why the hell people are complaining about this.KISS is meant for fun.He may not be doing anything fancy here.But it does sound ok.And if he is such a bad guitar player why does he sell platinum albums and some of the complainers here don't.I have heard worse.I have seen him live on the Psycho Circus tour.Paul Stanley is a decent musician and great voice.Anyone coming here expecting to hear Van Halen or Satriani is crazy.My opinion.

Eddie Van Halen is the MASTER of tapping, he would never, ever play shit like this, not even as a joke. This sounds like something I played when I had just discovered the tapping technique (I was 12 back then). But KISS are more about the looks and show, so I guess it doesn't really matter. Gene sucks too. Ace is ace though. And Paul is a great singer

What the hell did I just watch? There are a HUGE amount of rock bands that should be known more, and this guy gets all the fame and big concerts, and what does he give us back? The equivalent of an amateur warming up. @zapwatt my theory is this; Kiss have always been commercially minded, so they were imitating what was successful in rock at that specific point in time. in those days, you could probably get away with playing anything this bad as long as finger tapping was involved people were impressed as is the situation here. it could be a bit of a parody like you say, but probably Stanley is being completely serious, which is the real joke!
