both use lots of hammerons in their playing......but dave invariably picks the right notes most of the time in soloing and has got the right attitude......kirk is rythmically heavier.......however adrian smith kicks both their asses!!

I want to believe as a guitarist that a guitarist of Joe's class wouldn't be stupid enough to vote for kirk just because he gave him a lesson once or twice. Second as a guitarist my self not that good ofc, i can tell you that kirk doesn't give me any less of hard time to learn his stuff than Munstaine's. If hammet is a mediocore then munstaine is too, because they're in the same league, at least that's what my fingers tell me.

Why can't people understand that Hammett is a mediocre guitarist? Hetfield is the guitar genius in that band, he's a VERY good rhythm player while Kirk isn't a great lead player. hammett is popular because of metallica.

When it comes to compositions all solos are Hammet's and he did an amazing job, it's not rumbling here and there, they're like telling you a story.
