Anyone can be rich in a capitalist country though! How can you be better off paying high tax on a low wage than by paying low tax on a low wage? If you factor in VAT, council tax, Road Fund, Income Tax, NI and tax on interest we all have little to show for working so hard during the week. Someone once told me that people down the South of England all vote Tory, as it is considered "Lower Class" to vote Labour. Anyone can be rich in a capitalist country though! How can you be better off paying high tax on a low wage than by paying low tax on a low wage? If you factor in VAT, council tax, Road Fund, Income Tax, NI and tax on interest we all have little to show for working so hard during the week. Even after paying all this money to Labour, they still are spending 25% more than they get through taxation, which we will have to pay later on along with the sting from the PFI they started.

The British National Party (BNP) has lost all 12 of its seats on east London's Barking and Dagenham Council.
Labour gained 19 wards and now has control of all 51 council seats.
This is a clear message to the fascists that radical and authoritarian nationalist political ideology has no place in British politics.

I am a traditional Labour supporter, my wife as an animal lover votes for the Greens. We both get annoyed at the way Labour pander to the very wealthy, when their supporters hate these people. The BNP is anti the Eastern Europeans, but both have the same anti-Semitic ideals. I find this interesting.

@dual1tyy09 I don't know much about the Lib Dems. It seems like they are middle of the road. That it is my attitude also. Anything to avoid being a Tory. Someone once told me that people down the South of England all vote Tory, as it is considered "Lower Class" to vote Labour. I find this attitude painful and the main reason why I can't stand most of the snobby English down south. No one likes people who think they are superior to others, just because of where they were born.

People just listen to policies which to me are fairly irrelevant, I will always vote for capitalist rule as that always works better than socialism and the majority of people are winners from it. In reality, for me UKIP is the best however its a wasted vote as no one votes them so out of the main 3, Tories are more "me".

@pimpUK1 In the UK, it is a regional thing. People down South think they are superior and vote Conservative, as it "conserves" their money, status and power. Others vote Labour, as they have to "labour" to earn a wage. Capitalism only works for those that have money. The idea is that you tough it out in the good times, and then buy up and make heaps of money in the bad times like now. Note that the rich are getting their hands on more and more property now that the poor are getting driven out.

You can be "working class" or "lower class" and be a millionaire or "upper class" and be poor. All capitalist governments in the world have social security as far as I know. Socialism gives too much power to MPs which is never good, look at Nazi Germany.
