im looking for a VGA device with keyboard. wifi is obvious need, prefferrably wm 6.5, if not avaible on that phone then 6.1 and 5 both are okay, wm2003se is not okay and under that. high end device with at least 500 mhz and 64MB of ram. Right now im using FSC Pocket loox 720 and im pretty happy with it, but it is so limited because of it wm2003 os. D-Pad would alse be nice. oh and i really really dont like samsungs own shit on it, id just like the windows os :D

Weel all WM6.5 got was a new waiting cursor. iPhone got c&p, MMS, find-my-iphone to locate and reset the phone if its stolen, a new API to connect to external HW, new API for iPhone to talk to each other by bluetoot and lots of other stuff. The next release will contain more news of course.

WM6.5 is many years after.

Apples way is not to release anything until they think its perfect, most others are so eager to get to the market that their products have great flaws.

I'll always love my Windows mobile device, but it just feels and looks clumsy. I have quite a good camera on my phone (5meg px), but the quality and usability is not as good as my girlfriend's boring iPhone, despite the fact that it only has a 3meg px lense.

I've filled my 8gig memory card with mp3's, but it's not really that easy to search and find tracks. I'm really liking the look of the iPod app on the iPhone. It just appears to be more intuitive.

I don't get the new "honeycomb" layout without the honeycombs... I would get it if icons were bigger and thus would need the extra room on the screen honeycomb would give them... but now you actually get lesser icons on the screen because they are further apart and the middle row is lowered half a row... it looks cluttered and messy... ME NO LIKE!

What i on the other hand do like is winmo in general the flexibility, general looks of 6.5 (minus ex-honeycomb clutter) and ofc multitasking goodness

In most of the ROM's you can, just go to settings and change your today screen to touchflo instead of windows default.

I own a HTC touch which came with wm6.1. I flashed wm6.5 into it (latest beta).

They really improved windows mobile over previous versions, so you should update (if you have the means to).

If you are going to buy a new phone, at least try the HTC G2 (google android) or the iphone. You don't want to get a big disappointment like I had.

I don't see how this is "without the honeycomb" menu. It basically is the same exact thing minus the outline of the shape. It's still organized in a honeycomb fashion! I kind of like the magnetic home screen but that honeycomb menu is the biggest factor in me not downloading this ROM. Having everything on one screen is the dumbest idea ever. Microsoft needs to just bite the bullet and do organized flickable pages like the iPhone but make it their own.

Call me old-school, but I hope, there're still more ways to access one's apps. I have more than 100 programs sorted in my start menu. How am I supposed to work with them efficiently with only one scrollable area? Plus, scrolling through a flat list to find something takes far more time than navigating a hierarchy.

There will be fixes that will allow you to have 6 instead of 4 icons in a row (start menu in portrait mode) and it actually isnt that bad. One this I don't like about it is the Home menu (list mode). other than that this ROM works very fast and stable on my Xperia. Not a single crash, but still alot of beatles :)

In case you guys haven't noticed already. All the "big 3" mobile manufacturers are releasing 3 new touch phones this summer and they're all running the Symbian series 60 5th edition. Those are Nokia N97, Samsung i8910 Omnia HD, and Sony Ericsson Idou. In addition, the chairman of T-Mobile's parent company have announced that they'll not be producing WM units for contracted sales anymore, but that Google Android will be the "New Windows Mobile". I guess that's pretty much it for WM huh.

An i phone is the simplest thing to use. And with simplicity you cross out customisation. And what i mean by that is. my phone can't go above wm6.1 But i just so happen to have windows mobile 6.5 You can brew your own you can do everything yourself. Set it up how you like it. Everything that the new iphone is comming out with. windows mobile was already capable of doing. And with windows mobile you don't need to purchase a new phone to do it. Hence the 6.1 to 6.5 example above.

And by brew my own i mean brew your own everything, from programs to roms, to Shells. You can literally make your phone do anything you want. And it's so much easier to do what ever you want. Because you don't have the restrictions that apple has made for you. Same thing goes with Mac's as a pc. And pc as in personal computer. The iPhone OS 3 isnt out yet.... but even on the very 1st version of the iPhone its still better than any mobile version Microsoft mobile ever released. What is stability for you ? Maybe you are referring to the constant crashes of Safari ? Windows mobile doesn't need any daily rebooting to work correctly, no registry hacks either. It won't crash/freeze/become "unstable" even if I start 25 apps at the same time.
