US went on the beaches alone, Canada landed with the British. about 2500 US deaths compared to about 500 Canadian deaths so of course they'll move farther in on one day. as for more in europe i don't think so. US did more than Canada in the war

Of course they hate us after this, so when Pearl Harbor was left for an entire day with everyone on holiday, they bombed the Hell out of it. America was looking for a very good reason that everyone could agree on to join the war. FDR had been wanting to join the war all along, and when the Japanese bombed us 10 years later, it had everyone in such an uproar that no one would back down from the fight

Also, the Japanese invading China violated the Kellogg-Briand Pact of 1928 which renounced war as national policy. So, the United states tells Japan if they don't get out of China, we'll stop trading oil with them. Japan stays in China, so, naturally, we stop trading oil. Eventually, Japan is forced out of China, but not without a lasting grudge against Americans

China was in the middle of a depression (much like our own) so the Japanese quickly get a strong footing in Southern Manchuria. At this time, the United States is good friends with the Russians. It starts pissing off Russia that the Japanese are taking over China. If it pisses off the Russians, it pisses off us.

This meant that the US was no longer neutral. The US ended up contributing 42 billion dollars to the war effort by 1945. With Hitler taking over Europe, FDR saw fit to aid the British and French troops with arms, etc.

I just feel Churchill gets credit taken from him by many historians. It was he who warned the world of Nazi Germany, while in my country (America) they mocked him as a scaremonger. It was he who took action before the mighty FDR. I am an American (and proud of it) but i feel insulted when Churchill is ignored by history. He and General Patton we're the true hero's of WWII. Again, one man's opinion.

america joined the war because we had pearl harbor bombed. we had no reason to be there. i mean really. they could not fight us and win.... but anyways if we would not have come in when we did..... england would have been conquered. same with russia. most likely at least. america does not enter.... japan attacks russia.... end of story. you cant even say anything lol.

the phrase "under god" was added in the year 1954 - just another example for religion highjacking secular ground.
bellamy wrote the original pledge of allegiance in 1892 without any religous reference.

The u.k lost millions of troops fighting the german war machine while every outher country in europe was steam rolled through . How many years did america wait in world war 2 before they actually fired a bullet in europe !? The u.k and russia bleed for years grinding down the germans before america entered the fray . Even to this day the arrogant yankees try to take credit for the whole war .

@hi5lo2 they went further on D-Day because the Americans landed on Omaha and Utah beaches, known to be the worst of the fighting. US went on the beaches alone, Canada landed with the British. about 2500 US deaths compared to about 500 Canadian deaths so of course they'll move farther in on one day. as for more in europe i don't think so. US did more than Canada in the war
