the bassist looks like Dave Hughes from OMD or Mark E. Smith from The Fall, while the singer had the same cloth as a gang leader from a 1980s/early 1990s american movie
stingrays are punch...these things don't deserve only funky (by many Flea imitators who post that boring wannabe Flea bass styling)....i once tried a copy and it was powerful. As its pre Ernie Ball, i announce the pre EBs (like surely the bassist of PS was using in this vid) are being reissued. Are Stingrays the punchiest basses in the world?
@FrancoDamn No, the Rickenbachers were THE punchiest. The 'ray does have some nice punch, though.
(Least Punchy? Hofner!)
Both axe wielders are slinging Music Man products. I have to wonder if there might have been a Leo Fender corporate sponsorship in there somewhere.....
I'm just getting into the Pointed Sticks. Who's the guy in the baggy pants playing the bass? He's the best looking and I love how he jumps. At 0:03 BAD ASS! He's probably my parents age now haha. BAH BORN TO LATE INTO THIS LAME ASS WORLD OF
SECENE KIDS, EMOS, VACANT MINDED DIVAS AND PHONIES BNAAHHAHAH.
There all great though. This is what gets me up every morning.
The Pointed Sticks and the 222's from Montreal prove that Canadian punk was as good as it gets! The melodies, the energy, man, I saw both bands on the same bill in Montreal around 1980 and it was one of the best shows of my life. The 222's blew them away live, they had an amazing singer who you couldn't take your eyes off of, but the Sticks had the songs,. All these great, great songs that few people outside of Canada ever heard. Too bad.
this is very good. i wouldn't bother with the shows they are doing now, the youth is gone, but this stuff is great , my favorite , apologies, from the avon calling double lp. that rocks
my music teacher is in this video.
