  • Looks like a zoot suit.

  • Don't be fooled.

I've had suits made in this type of place and although they are cheap, you can really tell that you got it done in the far east by unskilled tailors. You DO get what you pay for.

Just compare their $120 suit, to a £250 suit from M&S (or whatever)....you'll find that your high-street suit is actually better than a far-eastern tailored suit.

  • Could this guy make me a really good suit for warm weather / Texas

  • WOW DATS CHEAPP

  • haha!! I have my suit from there 7 years ago, same price, but didn't get the shirts :(

  • haha!! I have my suit from there

  • $120! wow! thats £75 for a tailored suit and 2 shirts! Thats unbelievable, I pay about £300 for an off the rack Ted Baker/Paul Smith suit!

  • @stey2k To be honest, I'd say the Paul Smith would still be a better buy. A true tailored suit simply cannot be made in such a short amount of time. Admittedly, it meets the definition of 'a tailored suit', but to me, it just isn't.

  • @stey2k you will enjoy it there sir, my recent trip to bangkok, i made 6 tailored shirt and im only 23

  • @stey2k

Trust me, a £300 ted baker/paul smith (really, only £300 for a Paul Smith Suit?) is far better than paying $120 for a far eastern suit by an unskilled tailor. The suits look very homemade (e.g. 'ship captain' shoulders, DIY sharp seams, 2 sizes too big).

  • Bangkok is developing a good reputation as a place to have a good suit made. I may need to go there sometime!

  • do they have high quality fabrics such as sea island cotton, supima cotton, camelhair and such? are the suits lined and fully canvased? do they have a variety of different suit styles and fits?

  • @machetero1 Answering your questions in order: Pretty sure. Yep. Definitely - you can browse magazines to choose the fit/style you like.

  • @machetero1 they have excellent fabrics there you just have to look around i suggest going to brioni thats where i had my suit made in bangkok and it's gorgeous

  • @machetero1 don't be kidding yourself.

  • The best one are from Savile Row

  • excelent! i have a question though, does the blazer have even a bit of shoulder pads? or not at all?

  • @rcknrollerme It does have a bit of shoulder pads, yes. Actually, St. Michael's illustrated the value of a custom suit through those pads. One of my shoulders sits slightly lower than the other. So they built the pads accordingly to give a perfect silhouette from behind.

  • @Vagabonding thats brilliant my tailor charges me a fortune and he doesn't even give me the suit options i have to tell him everything i want which forced me to do months of research and pretty much wasted my time i have to check out one of these Bangkok tailors!

  • It should be illegal to sell off-the-rack suits. Once you try a custom suit, off-the-rack is disgusting. And I can immediately tell what is an off-the-rack. Almost nobody wears custom (even high-income people). Again, disgusting. It's like not clipping nose or ear hair, or eyebrows.

  • What was the material that you chose?

  • Some nice cashmere or something. It's still holding up well.

  • I bet it is. I feel like booking a flight to Bangkok and getting one done. I saw their website and you can order online, but the tailoring experience up close is something else and more accurate of course ;)

  • Yep, there's no substitute for the in-person experience. I had St. Michael's make tuxes for me and all my groomsmen two years ago, and we did it by just sending in measurements. While the suits still looked pretty sharp, it wasn't the same fit as when I was fitted in-store.

  • Here, here. So you're a regular to them. Pretty sweet. How many buttons is on your suit for this video, 2?

  • Three. So it kinda bounces in and out of style.

  • Ahh.. Smart choice!

  • It's made of wool. Don't remember the thread count. Still looks great.

  • Mind you, this was shot 5+ years ago. But, yeah, in general the suits in BKK are pretty affordable.

  • lol, you've got the infamous fake ralph aluren polo shirt all tourists buy

  • Ahem, that's an infamous fake Lacoste shirt, thank you very much.

  • lol, nice, the amount of lint that those polo shirts attract is unbelievable.

  • I would give the guy who made the suit an extra $50 in gratification at least! great video dude :) and niiice suit

  • hey thanks mike..i check out ur website..awesome..

  • so how much was ur suit?

  • I say at the very end of the video - $120 including two handmade shirts.

  • and in khousarn road mostly fabric came from the end of the roles or damaged fabrics, i dint mean to complain but that's the true, about the thread count , even copy wool that made from cotton - poly have label that copy from original wool 120 - 150 - 180 anything u prefer it's can be all the real deal for the suit if it copy it will clink on ur leg when it cold and it will be dead hot and ruin the shape after use, if u want to know which one is the real wool u can try by burn the fabric

  • Pls avoid the following tailors in Bangkok. James are infamous for hiring dodgy lying tuk-tuk drivers to take them to their shop and the next three, for spamming the Internet with fake reviews and comments. They have to cause their quality is low and their prices expensive. All four are family related.

    James Fashion

    Saville Row

    Tailor Pro

    Excelsior

  • Qualtiy fabric and tailored to your body makes for a great suit, forget about the persons who are slaves to brand names

  • Great video and it would be pretty good deal if you got a very nice suit OFF the RACK and tailored for $150 or less,

A custom tailored suit for 120 is highway robbery its also a great start for your suit collection

  • just got myself a real armani suit for £699, tailored to my size, been to thailand, and the quality is different. Only those that were the real deal can tell the difference, lets say you are attending a christmas party and somebody standing next to you in a real armani will make you blush :)

  • actually i doubt it.

Armany suits are probable made in an assembly line.

And suits made in thailand are made by guys that produce like factories. That tailor is probably better at tailoring than any armani employee.

The only thing you can argue is that the fabric may not be as high quality. But then again, i'd wager they aquire cashemere wool from china an mongolia 100 times cheaper than you pay for it an armanu suit.

So well wasted thoo 700 pounds.

  • Are you able to choose different fabrics according to thread counts? Such as 120's 150's?

What about the fit? Was it razor sharp?

  • Yep, they had fabric separated by thread count and so on. And yeah, the fit was - still is - millionaire sharp.

  • I just paid $1,500 bucks for two quality suits here in Oklahoma and thought I was getting a steal. That's crazy. I wonder how he knows he was getting 100% worsted wool and not a poly blend.

  • I just felt the fabric by hand and trusted that it was the real deal.

  • nice vid, good work explained everything very clearly. I was looking to buy a suit myself (in New Zealand) and am looking to pay $700NZD for a off the rack suit. I feel like I'm getting ripped!

  • looking good in tht suit man and the best part is tht u GOT ARMANI MATERIAL excellent fitting material man u shuld have made stripped patterns lol..

  • Thanks for tip i was staying at the sofitel hotel on silom road and was recommended by a friend to try the Harry's Tailor at the Narai Hotel Basement arcade. i got a good deal 2 suits 2 pants 2 shirts for usd good quality material for 270 USD. they are famous for their slim fit shirts. TRY eM.

  • pinky tailor bangkok

  • What the....120 Dollars for three fitting. Thats 1/20 of the price in Norway for three fittings. Oslo, the most f...ed place on earth!

  • Um, the suit fits no better than off the rack. After three fittings, that thing should shine, but you get what you pay for.

  • i was thinking the same there seems to be rolls on the back

  • It's not Savile Row, London - but it didn't cost 4000 dollars, either. Great deal. Nice vid.

  • you should have gone to sukanvit you could get 3 suits and 2 shirts for about the same price, but nonetheless a good piece of film making so 5 stars

  • Sweet. You'll love Bangkok! I got my suit at St. Michael's which is right on Khao San Road. Ask around - you can't miss it.

  • Wow. I might be planning a trip to bangkok soon and I'll look for this shop. $120 is a steal. Thanks for posting!
