@TheBlacky26 some oils dont penetrate the hair shaft , but rather sits on it, while moisturizer does, so when mixed the oil blocks the moisture from entering the hair shaft

@TheBlacky26 the reason u moisturize it first it to add moisture back to the hair and the oil helps seal in that moisture.Thats why u don't mix them both.hope thats helps.
