  • I never used to rollerblade because I was soo scared. But at my middle school, we just finished rollerblading/climbing, and when you go mwith your friends..IT IS SO FUN!

  • I have no idea - it completely depends on the amount of fat that is over your stomach and the amount of toning that you do (abs and obliques workouts).

  • Hmmmm... tough one! There seem to be three options. 1. Go without the kids (babysitter? husband watch them in the evening?), 2. find a way to take them along with you :), or 3. find different exercises for inside the home.

    I know a lot of people who do the BeachBody PowerSculpt videos (and other BB videos), and several people do the Turbo Jam videos :D Also, several people swear by the Biggest Loser workout DVD's. Run around at the park with the kids? Attach a buggy to the bike?

  • I just want you to know that I went out and did almost 3 HOURS of run/walking because of your video, and I saw some of your hardcore rollerblading dudes who hold their arms back and I laughed a little. OMG I burned 1200 calories and I need to run 9 miles tomorrow. x.x;

    I would do some research first, if I were you. Sean was very specific when training me, about the order in which you do the exercises, and the weight amount for each, the angle of the hands and the elbows... there's a lot to doing it properly!

  • What program do you use to chart your courses, with elevation and everything? That's pretty cool! I have a brand new pair of rollerblades that have sat in my closet for years now...I'm so scared of rollerblading! If you can believe it, it makes me feel claustrophobic! I feel like I can't escape from the wheels strapped to my feet! (Yeah, I'm nuts...)

  • It's an awesome site: mapmyrun(.)com. I use them to map all of my runs, bike rides, and now rollerblading routes ;) I have an account and save all of my runs, so if I repeat one I don't have to re-map it. :D You can also keep a training schedule and add your activities to it to keep track and you can find other people's runs in your area for ideas... :D

    Oh you should try to get into it! It's great!! I <33 rollerblading now. It's my favorite exercise, along with biking :)

  • I use calorie-count(.)com for general calorie info, and thedailyplate(.)com for more specific calories according to my weight :D

    I also use those two sites to find out the calories in all of my foods that don't have labels. If one doesn't have it, usually the other does :D

    You should do the girly pushups and move up from there. I can only do 10 pushups so the rest I do girly. The first time I did pushups in the park my friend's boyfriend was there to make fun of me, but that's okay because he runs like a chicken without a head! LOL

    OMG, it is sooo hilly in Brooklyn that every time I went out rollerblading this summer I thought I was going to DIE. Lots of flailage.

    I DID DO the push-ups all girly! With my knees on the ground? I did! I am SO WEAK! :(

    But these we're close-grip push-ups. I can do a few "normal" wide-grip push-ups, thank heavens. I do have SOME arm/chest muscle :P

    Seattle is super super hilly, which is why I decided to rollerblade on the trail around the lake, which is hilly but manageable. I thought about doing the course I bike but I think that would = death. ;)

  • Bench press I did up to 18.2 kg.

    All the free weights with black weights on them were 3.2 kg.

    The small ones I used at the end (just silver bars) are 0.45 kg.

    It's a complex protein powder that you mix with milk. It tastes like a smoothie and DRASTICALLY reduces soreness after working out, so that you can keep going day and day again without having to stop because you're so sore :P

    THe push up part was toooo funny. maybe you could start by inclining towards the wall on your tippy-toes & then graduate to lower levels like the kitchen counter then the stairs and such. that helped me during volleball camp.

    What is muscle milk?

    Go to the website... MM is a protein powder that you mix with milk to make a shake. I usually make it with some frozen mixed berries or frozen peaches or frozen bananas. It repairs your muscles like 3x as fast so that you're hardly sore the next day and your muscles grow faster.

    I LOVE it because I can work out every day and not feel very sore. Like, I'm sore but not so bad that I can't work out again. :)

  • I know! Neither did I... ;)

    I like one scoop vanilla with a cup of milk and 4 frozen strawberries... or for more of a smoothie I use a cup of frozen berries with a cup of milk and one scoop vanilla. Or just vanilla in milk..

    I also have the chocolate and use that when I don't want to mix in berries :D Milk chocolate.
