In Al Gore's AIT the graphics are slick, the video theatrical and his claim that CO2 concentrations drive temperature are false. In fact the relationship is the other way around - Higher concentrations of CO2 lag the temperature change. Gore has it wrong. The IPCC has it wrong!... and the Kyoto Protocol has it wrong. The EPA is outside the science when it advocates a finding for CO2 as a pollutant. Without this compound planet earth would be a very lifeless place.

I think the real issue is here what it should have been decades ago: Are we going to go nuclear? Nuclear energy is worth adding to the collective alternative energies right now and stop, they should have emphasized that above the cap and trade. I have been arguing on the side of nuclear for economics', and for climate changes' sake for some time, hopefully the crisis may help with opinion of this source (nuclear) as an option.

An interesting article from the July edition of the BBC Focus Magazine. It says astronomers say the Sun is the 'quietest' it has been for almost 100 years. There is also a 50-year low in the solar wind pressure. It has been going through a cooling down period for the last 20 years and yet overall global temperatures are still rising. So increased sun activity cannot be blamed for the rise in Earth's temperatures.

Water vapour condenses around muons to form clouds. The more clouds, the less heat reaches earth from the sun. This is reflected in the observed temperature record for the last decade. The mean solar cycle is 11 years (actually 10.7), not 20 years.
