hey dude i used a piece of plexi glass like you get at your local hardware store and used a saber (jig) saw and done the final work with a bit of sand paper then i painted the back to match my guitar body or you could do it in what ever you want
I could agree, but I have to create this different shape (not typical strat PG) to cover the problems with the body (watch first videos of the series). Anyway, the final result was not that bad. I'll soon publish the video of the guitar fully built and playing. Thanks for watching!
I actually like the beat up body. Would have been cooler if you let those "body problems" uncovered, full of scars and holes. I don't know why you want the guitar to look like it hasn't been through a lot: a guitar should wear its scars proudly.
The problem with the pickguard is that it looks like someone painted it in Photoshop with a brush and then just cut it out. From a design standpoint, it's horrible.
cool, were you thinkig about using different materials then? at least with pick guard blanks you know you cant go wrong lol, its looking good though man, do you have a lot left to do?
Since I'm in Brazil and pickguard blanks are not that easy to find, I was thinking of using an alternate material... but it's hard to find something that fits. On the internet you can find people doing it out of plastic from trash cans... I also thought about an old Jimi Hendrix Vynil... or thin wood, or metal. Definitely the pg blank is easier!
Next steps: finish PG and install pickups, final setup!

the pickguard blank I finally got is not too easy to work on, anyway... I don´t have specific tools, which is making my work quite a craftwork.
