So knees coming in on the ascension isn't a bad thing? Cause I've found my knees bow in when I get to like 300+ (I'm 5'9" at 170 with a max of about 385-400 depending on the day)
@fakeandgay69 This one is from the beginning of '09, I think the one youre talking about is the last year or two. Either way, I'd be happy to 5 rep 550 :P
Hi John. I live in So Cal and going to open an O lifting specific center where I live. Wanted to know where to score some cheap and good bumpers and bars and the rest. Any info would help me out. Thank you.
Youtube should have peoples addresses next to any comment they write. So we can hunt these keyboard warriors and smash there fucking faces in! Does my head in, every single weightlifting video, always some skinny cunt commenting with his 'professional' advice!
I don't care how this dude squats...when I can walk out and squat 551 lbs ass to grass I wouldn't say a thing about the way he is lifting. Plus I wouldn't anyway, if he's comfortable and can lift it, then so be it. Good job buddy!
Wow. If anyone here criticizes this guy's form in any way is a douchebag. That is a shit load of weight and I'm sure most people can't do that even with bad form and cheating.
He's not bouncing out of the hole at all. He has such tremendous strength and power that it may appear that way, but he's just exploding back up. I mean for christ sakes the man is squatting way past parallel with over a quarter ton on his back with nearly perfect form. From this angle his feet look a little straight for my tastes, but the man clearly knows what he's doing.
Form looks great. We all know heavy back squats cure cancer, it looks like you will live a long healthy life.
Don't you love how people unfamiliar with proper techniques are so quick to criticize? I wonder if any of you novices know what a snatch is, or even a full clean. These are lifts that involve explosiveness and dropping under the bar. This guy is essentially dropping under the bar in his squat.
Aesthetics aside (I'm a strong, fat dude too), you're going to get hurt squatting like that one day. Now I understand that there's always a potential for injury but the way you're doing it is only increasing your chances. You may find an exception or two, but the best squatters in the world (1000+LBS) stay tight through the entire range of motion. You're utilizing the muscle's stretch-reflex, I understand that, but that band's going to snap one day. Be careful, man.

He drops way too fast, one day his knees will just snap and his torso will hit the floor, its like ZOOOOM straight down, and then slowly back up, how about nice and controlled all the way?
that is a shitload of weight tho, wouldnt he want to look strong like fit instead of your only attribute being able to squat loads? cardio? whats the point, the dude looks fat, its like if your gunna put the effort in anway you might wanna at least look good
Ok... First, watch this video... BUT be prepared cause he's NOT ripped. He's 5'9 , 360 lbs!
"Shane Hammon Squatting 925"
After Shane did this "dive bomb" squat, he went on to eventually do 1008 for a World Record, Switch to Olympic lifting, made 2 Olympic teams and become the strongest lifter in US history. Not bad for another "fat" guy.
Squatting fast is not a lack of control but just the OPPOSITE!! Try to move 700+ pounds quickly and without control you will miss for sure!
Secondly, if everyone was as narcissistic and as vain as you, then there would be NO pro athletes. Athletes come in various sizes. Should World champion Kenyon marathon runners 'bulk up" cause their too skinny? Should all NFL Linemen who don't have a six pack get fired?
The "point" is that Weightlifting is NOT about how you look, it's about how MUCH you can lift.
Have you ever caught an episode of World's Strongest Man? Didn't think so cause your too busy waxing, tanning or flexing.
Wicked response, that guy's a loser but youtube is full of them. Just started in this awesome sport to prep for my main sport, love the videos and you're guys are tanks!
You're a fucking moron. The fact that he's able to explode out of the hole means that weight is easy for him, and it also means that his joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles and all connective tissue fire like angry pistons to pop that weight up with relative ease.
BTW, bodybuilding is the type of weightlifting with the statistically most injuries while also producing the least amount of weight moved in lifts when compared to powerlifters. Suck on that.
Most WPC lifters have a wide stance with theire feet, IPF lifters have a more narrow stance like this guy, and the squat up to 400kg + with singel ply squat suits.. So you can squat big with a narrow stance as well.
What this guy is doing is more of a "weightlifters squat". Narrow stance, no stop, and has the bar higher up on his back than the powerlifters.
Do as you prefer, try them all, change between them, or whatever. Dosent really mater that much. Its a preference.
Just curious, but what's your opinion based on? There's never been any scientific evidence to support what you said, and anecdotal evidence of weightlifters shows the opposite, that in fact the knees get much stronger squatting deep and through the heels or center of the foot. And what specific part of the knees is it bad for? At what load does the 'badness' start?
hahaha!! guess you never saw shane rebound with 1000+ # huh? he never had knee issues. Guess all the weightlifters rebounding from the clean are in trouble as well then? LOL
So knees coming in on the ascension isn't a bad thing? Cause I've found my knees bow in when I get to like 300+ (I'm 5'9" at 170 with a max of about 385-400 depending on the day)

Top 8 reasons why you are one:
8) you never touched a barbell until 1.5 yrs ago
7) I have 3 guys in my gym, same age as you that out squat you at ½ your body weight
6) He has done over 100kg (220lbs) more than this
5) I squatted more than your maximum with this same style before you were born, and have no injuries
4) Shane Hammond (IPF World Record Holder) did over 1000lbs with a dive bomb style
3) Most 1000+ squatters all wear gear so its impossible to ever hit rock bottom
BROZKNOWS 2 years ago
2) The same guys MUST go down slow and controlled or they will get out of the groove of their gear and get shot across the room like a superball
