Okay, to the guy who's an atheist and doesn't believe that Christianity is a valid belief system and believes that it doesn't hold up philosophically, you obviously haven't read any Alvin Plantinga or William Lane Craig. Both of these men I mentioned are Christians, but also philosophical giants...well respected by the secular philosophical community. Be careful that you don't make blanket statements about philosophers, because there are plenty out there who believe in God.
LOL. William Lane Craig is not taken seriously at all outside Christendom, especially not by the "secular philosophical community" (whatever that is). No modern philosophers cite his work. You have no basis whatsoever for your claim.
Almost every secular philosopher I have ever met knows that Lane Craig is a force to be reckoned with and acknowledges his expertise and depth of philosophical prowess. If you don't know what the 'secular philosophical community' is then you're not in much of a position to be talking about their opinions.
Especially considering you opened your rebuttal with "LOL".
@ThreeRemane cast not your pearls before swine=dont throw gods word/will to a pig.save it for the ones who yearn for Gods way!this is the way of Christ.granted he said his word to all,but keep in mind what he said to the disciples"to you the keys of the kingdom are given" "whatever measure you mete it shall be met unto you"meaning that if they are in refusal of the word-move on brother.many children of God are looking for you.

Um............its the Holy Spirit that leads us into all truth - seems to me Driscoll is perpetuating the male dominated brash narrow type of religion. God help you if your gay or a woman!....or even a guy with a creative edge....youll be mocked and made fun of.........doesent sound like God to me og but I forgot hes always angry according to Mark Driscoll. ;-)
doesn't sound like God to you? Who is your god then?
Driscoll, here, is speaking to methodology being rooted in theology. The Holy Spirit is the One who gives theology because he gave us the Bible (2 Tim 3:16). He is not being contradictory at all.
And I am at a lost at your "always angry" comment.
Sounds like you just have an agenda against him and the Bible's declaration of homosexuality as sin.
You know, it would be nice if you could back up your claims with any tangible proof, but instead you just spout out one sentence... and leave it at that. You don't seem to leave much room for debate whenyou don't answer or even try to counter-argument me. Oh and The opposite of love is hatred, Attraction has repulsion, sympathy has apathy, and indifference is a neutral stance. And Mark Driscoll is a fraud. Watch his vid for one minute and you can spot his hate speechand political POV easily
Viciousd, your "Love exists therefore god exists" claim rests on a sorely obvious assumption; namely, that god is love.
If you're simply saying that the feeling/state that we all call 'love' is your idea of god, then sweet.
But if you mean that god embodies love and on top of that also has agency and morals and all the other features demanded by theism, then your idea is a silly one, sorry.
I will not give you a deconstruction of one of your irrational propositions.I will give you just one exemple, which has been discussed in theological circles for 2.000 years, and which makes no sense to the ordinary man.
In principio erat verbum et verbum erat apud deum etc. etc etc.Only theologians can give this text a rational cloak.
Take it this man is a calvinism, he seems really good. Does anyone know his blog address? I wanted to thank him for a video he had posted on google, the video is fantastic.

easy enough: god doesn't exist. nothing in the universe says there's one. therefore i don't believe in your irrational proposition.
There, took me 5 seconds.

Love exists. Therefore- God exists. Because? Because- God is love.

Hatred exists. Therefore- God exists. Because? Because- God is Hatred.
I swear i don't have above 190IQ and i put a dent in your logic. What does that say about you?
You take your arguement with those egyptian babies. or child-raping priests. Or Ted Haggard. Or Agnes Gonxa, or whatever fraudulent name she chooses.
I also urge you to watch The Atheist Experience. You'll understand why arguments such as yours don't last 2 minutes in a real philosophical debate.

The opposite of Love is not hatred.
It's indifference... and God is not indifferent.
Anyways... a quick question... Why watch a video about Mars Hill if you are convinced that God is hatred? just wondering, thanks.

Once again, saved600, you have no idea what you are talking about.
That was very insightful. I don't think desiring god would have made this video if it wasn't biblically solid.

Sort of vague in what is being said. I think that the use of fruit was incorrect if look from a biblical standpoint.
