Dave, did you mount the pintech cymbals on the ION cymbal arms or did you order new arms? I ordered three pintech cymbals but did not purchase the arms.
@x3hV0LUM3 My Pintech TC is mounted on a stock Ion cymbal arm. The only thing you have to buy is a cymbal sleeve and felt, which you can get in packs of 4 for a few dollars each.
I want to add two new cymbals to my set (along with my TC), and the visulites look really nice (looking at a 12" splash for $152), but for that price, I want to be sure they are worth it. You said below they don't register as well. Have you been getting misses often with yours? Also, if you don't recommend the Visulite for RB use, how about the ZB series? Oh, and thanks for being so helpful :)
Note often, no. Only very rarely when I forget that I need to hit it slightly harder than the others. So yeah, it's probably not worth it for RB use. I've never tried the ZB series myself.
Hey, instead of getting an extra hi hat, why not get a hi hat switch box from the same place you can buy a kickbox. It uses ur stock ion pedal as a high hat pedal and switches between yellow and blue just like a real drum kit.
Nice videos and set, i hope to be getting an ion myself after ive finished my exams
Good point i didnt think about lag but if it did work it would be a pretty cool thing to have. But there isnt much point if it doesn't most of the time
hey as of now i just have a roland pdx-8 mesh snare....i just broke 2 cymbals of the 3 from the ion kit...wats a good replacement? i dont hit them hard either
Hey David, i'm on the verge of ordering the 3 piece set of visualite e-cymbals in cluding the hi-hat, im trying to get some feedback on them. I was also wondering what sound modules you would recommend, i've been scrourging the net and im having a real hard time making up my mind, it defenitly needs to support dual zone on at least the e-cymbals.
If you're buying them to use with the Ion controller, don't. The VisuLites are overkill and don't register as well with the Ion brain as the TC and PC cymbals do. As for brain recommendations, PM me. :)
What's the response like?
Better than the Ion stock cymbals?
Please respond :)
Thanks!

how did you connect your pintech 10" cymbal to respond as blue (open hi-hat) and also have another cymbal to respond as blue (ride) aswell (:

@kyuubimaster1 Just used a standard 1/4" mono splitter from Radio Shack. Costs like 5 bucks.

Mounting the symbols to the existing arms worked.

@phipsijuice I'd love to hear the answer to this, or the OP's outcome? Did it work mounting them to the existing hardware or not?

You must have 2 Cymbals going into the one input right? How you do that, just a normal spluter or somwthing?
iD0ntPlayDrums 2 years ago
Yep, normal mono 1/4" splitter, available at Radio Shack for just a few dollars.

I am about to order some TC 10-s for my Ion 'till I saw this. I like the clear cymbals, but are they loud when you hit em?
and how's the rebound (do they kinda fall dead like the TC10's?)
Thanks!
bimbim18ok 2 years ago
The volume is about the same as the TC, and yes, the rebound is very similar too.

2 reasons why not:
1) The hi-hat kickbox was not available yet at the time that I got this 2nd cymbal
2) I've heard that the hi-hat kickbox has a pretty nasty delay, making it virtually unusable.

hey dude so what do you need to have more than 3 cymbals and where can i get it from?
w1104717 3 years ago
All you need is a mono 1/4" splitter, you can find them at Radio Shack for like 5 bucks.
davidshek 3 years ago
suh-weet. So i would just plug the splitter into the green cymbal port and attach two greens in the splitter to have two crashes?
w1104717 3 years ago
Yup, you got it!
