What patch do you have and what mission are you on? Have you seen my uploads. They're all from the 1.2 patch though.
I've already played all the missions on both sides. Sometimes I get bored and I go back to see how many ways that I can fail a mssion. I'm also trying to practice using different weapons and units-sometimes I almost get my ship blown just trying to take screenshots.
I love this game. I like Batt. 2 better than Battlezone 1 in many ways, but I think Battlezone 1 is still a harder game to play.
When I first watched this, I was shocked when Voyager 2 suddenly grew a pair of cannons/guns and started shooting at something. Then I realized that this is the world of battlezone. I wish Battlezone 1 was a real war and everything. Our world would be much better.

This is game of my childhood. My grandma bought me this game and when I first played it, I loved NASA style voice actors, playability, visual effects and other graphics. Then after 5 years, I realised it has amaaazing story (Perfect for a movie). And now 5 years have passed again and I can't wait to install it again (+ patch) and to enjoy surviving on those beautiful planets. (Deep inside my heart I am hoping for 10 years that Activision will someday release Battlezone 3 :/ )

It really does, stupidest AI I have ever seen, so little flow in the gameplay and, quite honestly, the worst story imaginable with HORRIBLE voice acters.
I mean, just look at this video! Delta commands wingman, Delta 1 is reporting Delta command destroyed almost before he is even hit!
And they never gave us a good reason as to WHY "lt. Cook" had access to all those private messages between his officers.

Building is confined to squares, BZ1 it's 100% customizable as to where you can place your buildings, you can even move them inch by inch over the ground until you decide you find the perfect spot.
the ai is so stupid and litteraly scared of bumping into you that if you collect a full wing of craft they will litteraly not get anywhere by standing still trying to avoid their fellow wingmen.
at least in BZ1 they would get somewhere by bumping you.

@darkarchon7793 , yes. Just google "Battlezone 2 torrent" or something similar. If you install it and it asks for a disk, you need to get a no cd crack. Although, I warn you that it is illegal and there are a lot of viruses floating around out there.
BZ2 just doesn't have what BZ1 has. Battlezone and it's official expansion pack "The Red Odyssey" are both way more epic than BZ2. Some say TRO was the "real" BZ2.
When it comes to BZ2, the two major issues that seem to bug BZ1 guys are technical issues, and the story.
With regards to technical issues, the game wasn't finished. It needed a few more months of testing and debugging.
With the story, some people were upset about the shift away from the 60's Cold War setting. The connection between BZ1 and BZ2 wasn't made clear until very late in the game. In the ISDF campaign, Braddock doesn't spill the beans until the Core missions. (cont)
What would have helped the story make sense is if they made another expansion to BZ1, or a prequel expansion to BZ2 that revealed what happened during Project Pedigree and the creation of the Scions.
They talked about what happened with Project Pedigree in the game manual, but Pandemic could have done a lot more to expand on that.
@LgndryThndr Sure the game wasnt as advanced as battlezone 2 in terms of code but considering for how old it is it does a way better job with the units, way better levels, way better campaign (not that bzone 2's sucked i loved it) and plus the furies? They just put the nail in the coffin craziest unit ever (campaign wise). Battlezone 2 is pretty much a polished version of battlezone 1 minus the epicness. Battlezone 2 is still a great game and i do play it over battlezone 1 because of the polish.

Caused by Gamespy maintaince,now BZ2-lobby cannot be joined via Gamespy servers.We use now direct ip joining..Info about open games(normally v1.2) u can get by his site: smart-cam-mv(dot)com /bz2 /PHP1(dot)php.
as a 1.3pb4a player i suggest to use 1.3 direct-ip-joining button to join bz2games.
for youtube-teletubbies:in bzII u can join only games in exactly same version. otherways,you would get error message.just install latest update and play online.

It's a commercial game, so yes, you have to buy it. It's also an old game (9 years old) so eBay is your best bet, I recently bought a copy off ebay (as I had lost my old copy). You can get it for between 2 and 6 USD on eBay.

Atari still have the license to the Battlezone name, but Activision and Pandemic don't. Which is why Atari were able to make a game called "Battlezone" in 2007 for the PSP which was very badly made, and an obvious attempt at ripping off of the PC games. :o(
To be honest...BZ2 is crap compared to BZ1. I mean, I've played BZ2 a bunch of times and gone through all the mods out there and yeah it had its good moments. BUT, I just installed BZ1 and TRO for the first time in like 5 years and I'm already realizing there's no comparison. BZ2's story really let me down. It basically half-ass mentions BZ1's story then starts over with the isdf and scions. Boring if you ask me.
I agree, BZ2 had its moments, but BZ1 is the best imo... Even if the grahpics are a little dated, it still has better gameplay compared a lot of newer games.
as a note to those that say it only makes a half-assed mention of BZ1... the whole thing is a continuation of BZ1. THe blackdog squadron played a lead role in BZ1 and here, they became the scions. Cook's briefing make a mention of BZ1 too

bz1 had a better story, better ai and cooler looking units etc imo, but pilotting a bz2 vehicle and dogfighting etc was 10x more fun in bz2
the amount of mods/maps available for bz2 means it stays interesting for longer too, especially forgotten enemies and the g66 maps

I remember installing BZ1 from a floppy disc.
BZ2 is far superior in terms of an rts game.
Actual buildings, an improved UI and the buildings don't go ape shit every time something blows up near them.
Never ending scrap, unless I choose a map that has otherwise.
And pilots, JESUS CHRIST, PILOTS. TURNS INTO A TURTLE MATCH EVERY GAME.

The black dogs were an attempt at making Furies using live humans.

No, BZII lacked much more than that. Limited scrap means you have to manage your resources better whereas BZII you spend spend spend in endless amounts...would be nice if war was like that, right?

10,000 minerals per crystal is ungodly, same goes for Warcraft.
with that much resources, it may as well have been unlimited.

Caused by Gamespy maintaince,now BZ2-lobby cannot be joined via Gamespy servers.We use now direct ip joining..Info about open games(normally v1.2) u can get by his site: smart-cam-mv(dot)com /bz2 /PHP1(dot)php.
as a 1.3pb4a player i suggest to use 1.3 direct-ip-joining button to join bz2games.
for youtube-teletubbies:in bzII u can join only games in exactly same version. otherways,you would get error message.just install latest update and play online.

this game had fps problems on my pc when it came out. i like bz2 but its not as fast as bz1 i wish they mixed the 2.

yeah I'm so waiting for a up dated re make of it. You k command from the front line or like a moder general from sat link. They so need too up date the AI for the pvp online. but i see AI always have trouble in the real world environment this supports.

I play battlezone 2 on xp, it works. Maybe you should right click it and go to properties, then set it to compatibility mod for windows 98

It's a commercial game, so yes, you have to buy it. It's also an old game (9 years old) so eBay is your best bet, I recently bought a copy off ebay (as I had lost my old copy). You can get it for between 2 and 6 USD on eBay.

on torrent we have now buggy 1.2version with ahmmm,"skill-helpers"-i mean,that was not a very good idea from one user.
but nevest v1.3 is much better for ppl who dont use hacks in multiplayer who knows about it?

Atari still have the license to the Battlezone name, but Activision and Pandemic don't. Which is why Atari were able to make a game called "Battlezone" in 2007 for the PSP which was very badly made, and an obvious attempt at ripping off of the PC games. :o(

To be honest...BZ2 is crap compared to BZ1. I mean, I've played BZ2 a bunch of times and gone through all the mods out there and yeah it had its good moments. BUT, I just installed BZ1 and TRO for the first time in like 5 years and I'm already realizing there's no comparison. BZ2's story really let me down. It basically half-ass mentions BZ1's story then starts over with the isdf and scions. Boring if you ask me.

I agree, BZ2 had its moments, but BZ1 is the best imo... Even if the grahpics are a little dated, it still has better gameplay compared a lot of newer games.

as a note to those that say it only makes a half-assed mention of BZ1... the whole thing is a continuation of BZ1. THe blackdog squadron played a lead role in BZ1 and here, they became the scions. Cook's briefing make a mention of BZ1 too
