  • Snare Fedish?

  • Is it just me or does he suck and these drums sound terrible in this video

  • snare sounds like dickcream.

  • @glitchhacker101

    It's awesome isn't it!

  • @Nightlight35 no.

  • are you left handed?

  • these drums have so much more potential then what's shown in this video... they sound like crap here.

  • I have the old vintage Superstars, which I love, but this kit sounds great! Very nice playing too!

  • snare rings too much!

  • Custom Scarlet Fade

  • The colour is beautiful :)

  • I dont know. I just listend to it while tunning it

Actually i like to tune it to Billy cobham sound.

    That's the way it is.

but more than that,it depends on how you hold sticks. Keep it bouncing freely then it come out like this. If you grab your stick tightly, the sound will get worse... Really!!

  • WOW!! I like how your tom toms sound..what measurements did u use?

  • I dont know. I just listend to it while tunning it

  • 12, 13 ,14 ,16 i guess

  • normaly 10,12,14,16 on tama superstars

  • my tama sounds exactly like that kinda

  • i have this kit and i can say, it will sound 100000000x better with moongels.

  • wow the sound is amaizing

  • What's your kit configuration sir???

  • 10-12-13-16

  • great playing sir, i used to play with a left handed setup also, awesome drumset, very good tone..

  • thanks

  • Seems like a lot of people tune their snare drums to be loose and rattley. I like the snares a bit more tighter but hey, if that's the sound you like, that's the sound you like. Nice drumset, by the way. I love Tama drums.

  • @DrummerGrrrl i like the super tight fire cracker souns and i happen to a tama super star but mine is a custom

  • idk it sounded very cool n well done friend but i think a good rhythm is with the cross stick on all toms n to the snare too... i listen to metal but i combine it with jazz beats its so cool n difficult to concentrate :D but it helps u very much!!! u should try it

  • yeah....that's a good idea.. but very hard to do that cuz it's different style n different feel so i might make my brain blows out..heee hee hee

  • what the hell?? you have exactly the same kit as mine! But i have 3 toms, 1 floor tom, hi-hat, snare, double pedals, 1 ride cymbal, 2 crashes, 2 splashes, 1 china, cowbell, woodblock, tambourine.

  • do you have the tama superstar?

  • @SLAYERfilms96 Well, maybe not exactly the same kit ...but kinda sorta like.....

(just kiddin' ya, don't take offense :-)

  • Birch?

  • yes sir.

  • What drum heads are you using? Are you using 20'' or 22'' bass drum?

  • Those drum sound AMAZING!!! Birch shells? Especially the low end. What did you use to record the sound.

  • recorded through mic of old compact camera (fuji 40d) not through any record equipment sir.

  • I meant the height contrast of the snare/highhat to his toms

  • I know its right but you drums have a wierd setup they look inconvenient to play

  • is this kit the tama superstar sl hyperdrive?

  • regular set not hyperdrive. : )

  • you need to tune the snare, its far to rattly, good though

  • Hey nice soundin kit! Soon I'll be getting a 5pc tama superstar in that orange satin colour and I hope it'll sound as nice as this! although ur cymbals r a customs and mine will be paiste pst 5....lol

  • Hey man i have the same kit but whenever i tune the 10 tom to anything even slightly high pitched the snare buzz's horribely, how did you get yours to stop?

  • 1. tight up ur snare strand to stop buzz

    or

    2. ur tom n snare r on the same pitch so they resonate to each other

choose one to tune up or down to avoid the same pitch

finally buzz sound is not bad as u think.

It's a normal thing of drum set same as ringing sound. dont let it bother u cuz it will not come out strong enough to disturb u when u play the whole set.

  • hey man i had exactly the same problem, well i kinda still do, i tried literally everything like tuning up, down, tightening snare strainers, new heads. then i took my kit to a gig and all snare buzzing was gone apart from a small bit but it was easily bareable. so it turned out to be the room i had my kit in, so try moving your kit to a diff room it could make all the difference.

  • A custom Zildjian 16 n 18 inches

    Oriental china

  • some came with the kits n some evan g2

  • i love the sound of your crash...

  • A custom Zildjian 16 n 18 inches

    Oriental china

  • Like youre snare man. did leave the snares a little loose on purpose?

  • Thanksss.

Yeah.. a little loose is good for buzz roll sound.

  • Great set, but needs a little bit of tuning

  • jackjumperfreak dont worry about it cuz when u play the whole set,it will not bother u. If it seem to b long, tune it up. It's ok whatever pitch u tune if it still in tunning range If it's lower than its tunning range, it will has no resonance,no vibration so we call dead sound. If u tune it higher than its tunning range,it will produce ringing sound. so the first step is tune it within tunning range n tune to the pitch u like n try to tune each lug to have the same pitch. (search Bob gatzen)

  • i live in bangkok and even i love drums i am 13 and going to learn drumming soon. And 1 question are u totally thai cause if u are, i think u are u r the best english speaking thai.....

But when i tune them low they sound vey long..u hear them like 10 seconds after hitting them...what can i do about it pls help me

  • i dont like the heads, but the set is amazing :D

  • put some new heads on the drums and itll sound way better

  • ok, every saterday i get some monney and i never spend it.

And everybody siad : why dont you buy anything ? Your your enjoy ure monney.

But now i bought this kit becouse i had enough monney :D

  • Congratulation!

Wellcome to TAMA fan club :-)

  • how long did you drum before you bought this kit?

  • I've learnt to play since i was 13. Unfortunately that my parent not rich enough to buy it for me. I bought it by my own money when i was 30 (Pearl export). Now i replace it with TAMA super star cuz i love its sound. If u tune it well, the sound come out incredibly!!! Believe me!!!!

    Anyway nice ti meet u.

  • i bought this kit today and he's comong saterday I CANT WAIT :)!

  • congratulation!!!!!!

I think it's very very easy to tune it.

  • Are all the hoops die-cast?

  • Yes, all the Superstar hoops are die-cast except for the bass hoops, which I believe are maple, but don't quote me on that.

  • nice. never seen a drummer left handed

  • Im lefty, I find it more comfortable but i can easily play right handed..

  • oh i see, no i play lefty in a righty kit.. but I use my right hand for everything except hi-hat basically.. and when i use both for fills lol.. excuse my amateur thing there.. :P

  • Nice kit! it sounds well!

  • Hi,are you satisfied with them?

  • Good playing but I think your snare playing gets to messy:P

  • I got this kit today and dayum is all I have to say

  • i got this kit yesterday and i love it

  • I bought the superstar hyperdrive set, white satin haze, but havent played it yet. I think yours sounds great. It looks like you're into the big band drummers abit. Very nice playing and I love the sound. Very rich sounding floor toms. Thanks

  • THX :-)

  • your drum set sounds really nice. And with standard heads! impressive.. I also have the Superstar set but changed the heads to evans EC2, but mine still does not sound as good as yours cause i cannot tune them right..

  • lol dude he is left handed

  • why have you got the hi hat on the wrong side???

  • Lol, it's not the wrong side... left-handers like him (or like me, but I have it on the left side) can have the hi-hat on the right side, it's like having a lefthanded guitar.

  • But if you're not a lefthander and have it there just because you like it, sorry. xD

  • @rugbyangouleme 'Cause he video taped it from the reflection in the mirror....

  • got the same set. wouldnt trade it for a dw.

  • JAPANESE ARE SO AMAZING WITH THERE HIGH TECH IDEA'S FOR DRUMSETS LIKE THIS ONE!!!! lol

    long live TAMA!!

  • sounds great! what kind of heads are you using on the toms?

  • stock heads

  • evan g2 sir.

  • hey i was planning on getting evem g2 heads for my toms and i was wondering since you own them how do they sound live and are htey easy to tune?

    nice drumming by the way

  • G2 is sound smoother than its own tama head.

The live sound i think it came from a good room sound (my room was used a lot of acoustic board n acoustic sponge pad.

For my tunning. I tuned it rather high pitch on 10" n 12" (they will sing well on that pitch sound like neal Peart of Rush.)n tune low on 13" n 16" for rock fill in.

for snare. i didnt june snare side too much. it will sound bad but i tune batter head high but keep the wooden sound come out while play rimshot

  • If u tune batter too high,it will sound like metal snare so i dont like.

Yes its easy to tune especially its high tension lug of tama make u can fine tunning.

for some other brand,if u twist the lug just a little bit,the pitch may go too far from the point u want. so Tama is accuracy.

I dont use any tape or any other mat to damp the sound. i like the open sound.

If u mute it,it will never sing cuz it loose it acoustic vibration as it should b.

it will sound like cheap drum.

  • oh ok. is that how you get the good snare sound. cuz im buying a tama superstar custom soon and i want my kit 2 sound pretty much like yours! so are the heads that came with the tama kit decent enough?

  • Yeah decent enough. I think at first u may not need to change the head cuz tama head is fine. I think the key of the good sound is how u tune it.

If u know how to tune it,u will get a good sound then evanG2 is just an extendable sound quality.

  • wut is the size of ur highest tom 10x8 or 7x8?

  • the size is 10 but i'am not sure the exact depth.

  • are you a lefty?

  • Yes I'am lefty.

  • yeah i like your drumming and the drums sounds good (: I want my Tama Superstar to sound like that too

  • Thx friend ^_^

  • nice sounding snare! i just adore this overtuned sound

  • Nice drumming.

I have a Superstar too, it's weird watching this video because your kit sounds a lot like mine (nice tuning, by the way).

  • thanks for ur comment.

Actually i dont know how to tune it(the real sound is not good as on vid).

If u have any advice, please kindly teach me.

    appreciated.

  • If you do a video search for "Bob Gatzen" you'll find a lot of useful videos by him about tuning, he has a lot of good advice.

I've gotten my kit to sound really nice from watching his videos.

  • ThX friend. I will Ck IT out.

  • what heads are there?

  • EVAN G2 on top n EVAN resonant on bottom sir!
