I dont know. I just listend to it while tunning it
Actually i like to tune it to Billy cobham sound.
That's the way it is.
but more than that,it depends on how you hold sticks. Keep it bouncing freely then it come out like this. If you grab your stick tightly, the sound will get worse... Really!!

Seems like a lot of people tune their snare drums to be loose and rattley. I like the snares a bit more tighter but hey, if that's the sound you like, that's the sound you like. Nice drumset, by the way. I love Tama drums.
idk it sounded very cool n well done friend but i think a good rhythm is with the cross stick on all toms n to the snare too... i listen to metal but i combine it with jazz beats its so cool n difficult to concentrate :D but it helps u very much!!! u should try it
what the hell?? you have exactly the same kit as mine! But i have 3 toms, 1 floor tom, hi-hat, snare, double pedals, 1 ride cymbal, 2 crashes, 2 splashes, 1 china, cowbell, woodblock, tambourine.
Hey nice soundin kit! Soon I'll be getting a 5pc tama superstar in that orange satin colour and I hope it'll sound as nice as this! although ur cymbals r a customs and mine will be paiste pst 5....lol
Hey man i have the same kit but whenever i tune the 10 tom to anything even slightly high pitched the snare buzz's horribely, how did you get yours to stop?
2. ur tom n snare r on the same pitch so they resonate to each other
choose one to tune up or down to avoid the same pitch
finally buzz sound is not bad as u think.
It's a normal thing of drum set same as ringing sound. dont let it bother u cuz it will not come out strong enough to disturb u when u play the whole set.
hey man i had exactly the same problem, well i kinda still do, i tried literally everything like tuning up, down, tightening snare strainers, new heads. then i took my kit to a gig and all snare buzzing was gone apart from a small bit but it was easily bareable. so it turned out to be the room i had my kit in, so try moving your kit to a diff room it could make all the difference.
jackjumperfreak dont worry about it cuz when u play the whole set,it will not bother u. If it seem to b long, tune it up. It's ok whatever pitch u tune if it still in tunning range If it's lower than its tunning range, it will has no resonance,no vibration so we call dead sound. If u tune it higher than its tunning range,it will produce ringing sound. so the first step is tune it within tunning range n tune to the pitch u like n try to tune each lug to have the same pitch. (search Bob gatzen)
i live in bangkok and even i love drums i am 13 and going to learn drumming soon. And 1 question are u totally thai cause if u are, i think u are u r the best english speaking thai.....

I've learnt to play since i was 13. Unfortunately that my parent not rich enough to buy it for me. I bought it by my own money when i was 30 (Pearl export). Now i replace it with TAMA super star cuz i love its sound. If u tune it well, the sound come out incredibly!!! Believe me!!!!
oh i see, no i play lefty in a righty kit.. but I use my right hand for everything except hi-hat basically.. and when i use both for fills lol.. excuse my amateur thing there.. :P
I bought the superstar hyperdrive set, white satin haze, but havent played it yet. I think yours sounds great. It looks like you're into the big band drummers abit. Very nice playing and I love the sound. Very rich sounding floor toms. Thanks
your drum set sounds really nice. And with standard heads! impressive.. I also have the Superstar set but changed the heads to evans EC2, but mine still does not sound as good as yours cause i cannot tune them right..
Lol, it's not the wrong side... left-handers like him (or like me, but I have it on the left side) can have the hi-hat on the right side, it's like having a lefthanded guitar.
The live sound i think it came from a good room sound (my room was used a lot of acoustic board n acoustic sponge pad.
For my tunning. I tuned it rather high pitch on 10" n 12" (they will sing well on that pitch sound like neal Peart of Rush.)n tune low on 13" n 16" for rock fill in.
for snare. i didnt june snare side too much. it will sound bad but i tune batter head high but keep the wooden sound come out while play rimshot
oh ok. is that how you get the good snare sound. cuz im buying a tama superstar custom soon and i want my kit 2 sound pretty much like yours! so are the heads that came with the tama kit decent enough?

sonydiver 3 years ago
hey i was planning on getting evem g2 heads for my toms and i was wondering since you own them how do they sound live and are htey easy to tune?
nice drumming by the way
kKKHUSHAL 3 years ago
G2 is sound smoother than its own tama head.
The live sound i think it came from a good room sound (my room was used a lot of acoustic board n acoustic sponge pad.
For my tunning. I tuned it rather high pitch on 10" n 12" (they will sing well on that pitch sound like neal Peart of Rush.)n tune low on 13" n 16" for rock fill in.
for snare. i didnt june snare side too much. it will sound bad but i tune batter head high but keep the wooden sound come out while play rimshot
sonydiver 3 years ago
If u tune batter too high,it will sound like metal snare so i dont like.
Yes its easy to tune especially its high tension lug of tama make u can fine tunning.
for some other brand,if u twist the lug just a little bit,the pitch may go too far from the point u want. so Tama is accuracy.
I dont use any tape or any other mat to damp the sound. i like the open sound.
If u mute it,it will never sing cuz it loose it acoustic vibration as it should b.
it will sound like cheap drum.
sonydiver 3 years ago
oh ok. is that how you get the good snare sound. cuz im buying a tama superstar custom soon and i want my kit 2 sound pretty much like yours! so are the heads that came with the tama kit decent enough?
yasin2k9 3 years ago
Yeah decent enough. I think at first u may not need to change the head cuz tama head is fine. I think the key of the good sound is how u tune it.
If u know how to tune it,u will get a good sound then evanG2 is just an extendable sound quality.
