  • I agree that he should get the rtr. But i said kit to because if he thinks he can handle it also im 12 and had no problem with mine and it is my second car first kit and the directions are very good. So it was just anouther thing to consider to help deside wich way to go. But i gess he should just get the rtr to have no hassle.

  • @rydog12100 That's awesome dude! There is no way I could have put a kit like that together at 12. You should be very proud. Most kids your age can't stop playing video games long enough nor have the patience, attention span, or intelligence to put together a model car kit. Good for you.

  • Ya i think he should get the rtr cause it does come with a good motor i mean a 4 pole 3500kav reedy motor and an ecu with fan thats pretty good for starters BUT if he thinks he can handle the kit he should get th tekin rx8 ecu and the pro 4 motor 3300 kav with a savox sc 1258 servo and 2s 50c 5000 mah battery

  • @rydog12100 I think the rtr will be the most appropriate option for priejonas83. As his last comment stated that the hobby is unknown in his city in Brazil. I'm guessing that means it's not very popular there. I use hobbywing stuff and still beat good drivers with all those goodies you listed. My tenshock sc411 eat's pro 4's for lunch... ;) I've since moved on from the castle stuff.

  • hi man ,thanks for reply,i never build a kit,its very hard? after your answer i want one but i dont know if i can´t build..the manual is easy to understand,i want the kit because i want run in 3s lipo ,the rtr i think is just 2s..thanks again ,i´m from brasil here in my city the hobby is very unknow, dont have friends for help me in this..

  • @priejonas83 Both the kit and the rtr use the same battery tray which is not set up for 3s.I made this video using a very low quality 3s lipo soft pack just to show that it could be done. I really wouldn't plan on getting a sc10 4x4 to use with 3s. Also, the kit does not come with any electronics. The kit is not hard to build if you have good tools, but based on what you've told me I think the rtr will be best suited for you.

  • the kit come pre assembled like a mugen mbx6eco,or its like a blitz ese? i have to build all the parts before put eletronics.thanks man.oh other question this or slash?

  • @priejonas83 The sc10 4x4 comes in two different packages: the rtr version and the kit version. The kit is NOT a prebuilt roller. Everything must be built. I like this truck better in every way than my slash 4x4. I wouldn't even say the slash is better for bashing. I built this truck almost a year ago and haven't even broke one part on the truck.

  • woow i just ordered my mamba max pro SCT edition and i guess that its to much power for my slash 2wd :/

  • @TheMrmares What you want is the max race pro sct (1410 4 pole motor) or sidewinder sct. The 1415 in the video is honestly even overkill for my sc10 4x4. I just didn't want to have to worry about heat in our thin, dry desert air. I'm afraid you'll be really disappointed with this in your 2wd slash, but you can always use it and transfer it to another kit later on. It's PERFECT in the Losi Ten SCTE.

  • would that setup be fine with a 2s? or what would you recomend? and are you on socal-rc? i swore i saw this body on there.

  • @XzEPICNOSCOPESzX The reason the body looks familiar is because I tried to copy the design off the box. I have zero creative talent lol. To answer your question I would have to be familiar with the type of tracks you run on. If you need top speed exceeding 30mph then this motor/esc combo is not for you. This is geared about as tall as will fit without going with the robinson racing steel spur. And remember, you'll have to do some light modding to fit this motor.

  • What gearing where you running?

  • Another question. :-)

I see many people on forums recommend the 1410 (3800kv) instead of the 1415 with the mamba max pro. Do you know what the difference would be speedwise? I guess the 1415 is a more torque-like motor compared to the 1410?

And finally, could you please tell me the measures of the battery-compartment in the SC10? Just so I know which lipo's to order with the truck. :-)

    Thanks.

    Cheers!

  • @CosworthDriver I would actually recommend the 3800kv based on what you told me. There is a significant top end difference per volt, especially if you have telemetry and can monitor heat. I love my 1415, don't get me wrong. Heat is just a concern for me in the high, dry California desert. I don't need the top end on our tracks either. Running 20/58. The measurements are a roar spec 2s lipo hard case exactly lol. But, from the base to the belt is like 34mm without the strap in.

  • Looks nice!

I'm considering the exact same setup (SC10 4x4 and the mamba max pro kit with the 1415). But which pinions would you recommend me to get with this setup? I'm planning to get both the 60 and 58 tooth spur. I'm looking for speed, not necessarily track-focused handling. So i'm thinking of getting 4 pinions with the truck: 20t, 18t, 16t and 14t (from Robinson Racing). I'm planning to run it with both 2S and 3S lipo's (I know it's going to be tight with a 3S).

    Thanks!

  • Robinson makes a 54t or 56t metal spur I think. Associated's smallest is 58. If you're going with the 1415 either get the Robinson one or 58t Associated. I use traxxas 20t pinions and they're the biggest I can fit with 58t spur. You're kidding yourself if you want to run 3s which is why I recommended the 1410 in the above comment. Either the 3s will be too big to fit without removing the belt housing or the C rating will be to low and your battery will be toast. That 4 pole draws hard.

  • How the heck do u fit a 3s in there?!?!?!?

  • Nice speed runs, what 3s are you using on it? I have enough trouble fitting my 2s on mine.....

  • @ilanstylz It's a crappy venom 4000mah 20c soft pack. 2nd gen I think (wires come out the top not the side). Barely fits. I wouldn't recommend it lol. Quite a strain on the battery with that motor/esc. You wouldn't believe the toque of this motor. Before I thread locked the pinion I was out running it like this and hammered the throttle on. Heard a loud "PING", and found that the set screw shot out of the pinion gear. So awesome in high traction, esp when just having lost momentum before a jump.

  • Will it do a weeley

  • @TheKingluis456 Haven't tried :( I have the wrong suspension set-up and I keep my slipper clutch too loose for wheelies.

  • have you tried the 4s on it yet? yah know, just for kicks?

  • @imjustwonderful Nope, don't own any. Send me one and I'll put it in it and post a vid ;)

  • soo many people had me under the impression that you couldn't fit a 3S in this truck. What 3S are you running?? Oh and you aren't hitting 50-58mph. MAYBE 45 tops.

  • @sensi023 Well since you're the speed estimation expert, maybe you can guess the pack I'm using ;)> Just kidding. Using 3s is pushing it for the size of the battery tray. Worst part of the truck, but I love the belt drive. It's a 4000mah 20c venom soft pack. Definitely was not giving it full throttle for that reason. I would not recommend 3s in this thing. I'd recommend a torquey motor, low timing, tall gearing, and a 40c or higher 2s.

  • @sensi023

Yeah I am guessing more like 35. TOPS. Something is off on his set up. I am sure its a monster on torque. Maybe gearing is off. Try higher pinion and that will add speed and lower torque. Also I am not sure why you have to add so much throttle to get it rolling? Hmmm, take to LHS and have a guy check it out. Enjoy.

  • @MrLShlong This truck is faster than my Revo 3.3 which is well tuned and does 40+ at this altitude. It does not take much throttle to get it moving, but because it is a 4 pole motor, with extremely strong magnets, it required a lot of amps to get it moving. My gearing is 20/58. Smallest spur that will work with associated's slipper set up. I may be able to fit 1 or 2 more teeth on the pinion and still have it mesh properly. The motor is only 2400kv. I am the LHS guy lol. Truck is perfect.

  • what's pinion/gear?

  • @bmorales26 20/58
